For anyone wondering why the Prince and Dark Prince isn't in the family:
In the description for the Royal Recruits, it says that they dream about ponies and wearing metal buckets, which is obviously the Dark Prince. And for the Evolution Royal Recruits, it says that the Prince trained them to charge. This implies that the 2 Princes are just higher ranks for the Recruits.
In Clash-A-Rama, there is an episode with a Prince and Princess in a relationship, so they can't be related, otherwise that would imply some bad things.
The Little Prince is commonly referred to as the heir to the throne, despite being obviously younger than the other Princes, because he is a blood related son of the King.
So no, the 2 Princes are not a part of the family.
