    Glad to see you’re still enjoying the GX1. I feel obligated to say PLEASE BE CAREFUL 😂
    I just got out the hospital after breaking my leg on the Solar EQ. Got cut off by a vehicle and took a nasty fall Tuesday. I’m retiring from riding….😅
    Anyway great video and be safe!

      Glad you're okay! And good advise. I've been cut off a few times but thankfully nothing that's caused me to fall. But I have had to just stop completely at times, or give a car a lot of space, kinda like that Subaru in this video.

    Nice video, For this price range, do you recommend something else that requires less maintenance 😂?

      Thanks! I'm not sure, this is the only escooter I've owned, but I would imagine maintaining brakes is just a thing on all of them.

    Another awesome video!!! When you pull the break it only "pulls" from one side, the other side stays stationary and you can see it actually moving/bending the disc when you apply breaks. I noticed that on mine straight out of the box. That makes me think a hard break might have bent the disk creating that wobble. I too had my breaks lose stopping power after 150 miles of riding and I mostly adjusted them by undoing the hex that holds the cable, pulled the cable thru and tightened it down. That's a bummer about your kickstand! And charger! And stem lock! Dang.. Have you reached out to gotrax about that yet? My stem doesn't have that issue.

      thank you! you might be right about the brake itself warping the disc, I'm going to check if a bike shop might be able to help me straighten it. I didn't reach out to GOTRAX about the stem or charger, but they've been good on the two replacement kickstands, just waiting on the next one to arrive.

      @@lurkchannel hey, I have a solution for the brakes pulling on the disc and causing it to warp! I only found out because I was just riding in town when my back brake made a pop sound and I lost all my rear stopping power.. so, while the caliper is stationary, the inside break pad needs to be as close to the disc as possible because that's the one that doesn't move when you apply the breaks. Mine was pretty far off straight from the factory. Anyways, take the caliper off by undoing the two bolts that hold it on the frame. On the inner side of the caliper there's a hex bolt, tightening it will bring the inside break pad in more. I turned mine a 1/2 turn. Then reinstall the caliper and tighten it down so that inside pad is almost touching the disc. Then use the cable adjustment to get the outside pad where it needs to be. I don't know if drum breaks are any better but I've had enough of these GX1 breaks already lol. I'm at 200 miles on this scoot.. anyways, hope this helps!

      @@kyleb4327 Solid explanation. I didn't want to have to take the entire caliper off but I see the hex you mentioned for moving that inner piece around. I seem to have it in a good place at the moment, but I'll try adjusting it like that next time.

      @@lurkchannel hey, I also figured out a fix for the stem issue. Mine got lose and by over tightening it I briefly had the same issue. When you collapse the stem there's a hex bolt under there where the wires go thru the stem. Mine was lose so I tightened that hex. If it's too tight though it becomes hard to latch and unlatch when upright.

      @@lurkchannel also, it has deleted every reply about the brakes.. look up TRP Spyre caliper's. They fit perfectly and they're awesome dual piston calipers that make this scoot feel premium all the way around.

    From the research that I have done it seems like this scooter is more sturdy than most. How is the handling? Does it do well around turns?

    • @lurkchannel
      @lurkchannel  Před měsícem

      handling is good, I have not felt like it's going to buckle or destabilize on me. turns are fine, but depends on how you take them, there is a bit of a skater technique where leaning in with your feet can let you take corners faster and tighter, but that's on all scooters.

    Did you install an airtag or GPS tracker on your scooter, anywhere?

    • @lurkchannel
      @lurkchannel  Před 20 dny

      No I haven't, but I imagine you could attach one pretty easily inside the stem or behind the plastic stem near the front of the board.

    Just got mine today and charging it. Is there a factory set passcode? I don’t see it in the manual.

      should be all zeros at default

    Gotrax chargers are s**t, heck all escooter chargers with red/green lights suck. The only good chargers are the Segway/Ninebot and thats because they are integrated in the scooter.

    • @lurkchannel
      @lurkchannel  Před 20 dny

      Don't have experience with those but that sounds nice. I've found leaving it unplugged until I'm charging the scooter has fixed things, but it's weird I can't just leave it plugged.

      @@lurkchannel Leaving it can over-heat the adapter, damaging it and even the battery. It was also known to cause fire on rarer occasions.
