This movie had everything a db fan could ask for along with few cool callbacks and classic toriyama humor and did justice to all characters. Seriously didnt expected it to be such a banger
I seriously think this movie is the best Toriyama has been since the Saiyan saga.
I do feel like the fights don't feel quite as kinetic as I prefer. Other than that I wholeheartedly agree. Infiltrator Piccolo is my favorite part of this movie and seeing how cell max was defeated felt perfect
I disagree. I think the fights had weight and conveyed kinetic energy.
@@JW-xd8up I respect that. I did spend the entire time waiting for the release of the movie expecting to dislike the cgi so maybe that had a negative effect on my enjoyment of those scenes

This was definitely my favorite movie out of all of them. And I really do like Broly, but super hero hit every note that me as a Gohan and piccolo fan was really wanting. Even some little things I wanted to finally be addressed

Many people complain that this movie ripped off the cell saga. I don’t mind that because…..I don’t like the cell saga.
Let me explain. You know how everyone says “oh the prequels had great ideas but bad execution?
I think the same thing applies to the cell saga. Kaiserneko, in an interview with Gaby about TFS episode 60, said the cell arc presents a lot of “big ideas but handles them poorly.” I agree. The arc presents so many great ideas but botches them.
The RRA come back for revenge with cyborg villains!
Their main rep dies almost instantly.
The Cyborg villains fight for the RRA but then turn against them!
17 and 18 never fight for the RRA.
Homicidal Teen delinquent androids run amok!
They get sidelined for a new villain.
The new villain is inspired by horror movies!
He literally transforms into “diet Frieza” to quote Mistarefusion.
16 makes a heroic sacrifice against cell!
The audience barely knows 16.
16 awakens Gohan’s rage by dying and by giving him a speech about the shortcomings of pacifism.
Gohan was never a pacifist.
Goku dies and passes the torch to Gohan!
Goku dies because he made an out of character decision-letting Gero build the androids at the beginning-and stays dead for a nonsensical reason-he doesn’t actually attract bad guys.
Now, imagine if George lucas went, “wow I botched Atrack of the clones let’s retell that story and get it right this time” and actually delivered.
To me, that is what happened with Super Hero. With this film, Toriyama finally realized the cell arc’s narrative potential by reincorporating the arc’s big beats-RRA revenge, cyborg villains battling the heroes and making a heel turn, a “monster movie inspired” big boss, Gohan unlocking his potential-into a genuinely functional-if flawed-story.

Yo, me again. I just re-read the cell arc, and my opinion on it has softened. Don’t get me wrong, I still stand by my criticisms, but the arc has big strengths that I just can’t deny.
Also, I have to admit I warmed up to cell. The whole sadistic game routine is genuinely fun, even if he is kinda boring.
That said, I still think Superhero deserves credit for realizing some of the potential the cell arc squandered.
Goku and vegeta should have been teaching this to Broly. I can see were they wanted to drill home that to be your best you need full mind and power. Somthing that gohan has had trouble with all his life. When he went ss2 he had power but needed gokus help. Ultimate vs buu is vegeta was showing. Gohan beast seems to be gohan finally using full mind and power especially to protect.

hell yeah this is probably my new favorite dragon ball movie
One of the best parts was piccolo and Gohan had alot more to do in this film then the previous three. Which was great and giving them new forms to catch up to Goku and Vegeta.
Really enjoyed this film. Piccolo deserved this focused. Gohan was great. Glad my boys Goten and Trunks aged and were allowed to join the fight. Pan is fun, and adorable in every way. Only thing I disliked was also the cutaway to Beerus planet. A really pointless way of still trying to shoehorn Goku and Vegeta in, and bringing the pacing to a complete halt.
Oh boy lol. Have yet to watch it properly in english voicing but,for the most part I liked it,specially from start with the Piccolo-Pan interactions haha.

I liked this movie alot, one of the best if not THE BEST movies in all of Dragon Ball. A lot of the cool things like you said.
Honestly though it made me realize something very, very sad. The anime team just needs to stop writing Goku......I'm sorry but everytime he appears it's just so painful to watch him. Goku meditated all of the time.
There always seems to be some poison though such as the Blatant rip off of Super Saiyan 2 Gohan.
I don't mind Orange Piccolo since, this is really the only time that Piccolo has had a transformation.
I would've liked it better if Gohan just focused his power and used the Makkankosappo in Ultimate and that's what killed Cell Max but oh well.
Honestly, I think Vegeta only beat Goku because they said they couldn't use powers. Goku is more creative with powers. That's what he has over Vegeta.
gohan going beast is the laziest asspull in dragon ball canon.
he sees piccolo getting beaten up and instantly becomes the strongest sayian again with no training, after we saw him earlier being a pathetic shut-in who’s let his battle power wither away out of idleness
not to mention it’s just his SS2 design being reused but with grey hair so big he looks like an absolute muppet
(this movie is full of lazily reused content though. like christmas-colored-semi-perfect-Cell, who is maybe the worst thing ever created)

Honestly if the movies were more about secondary character I wouldn't mind, Dragon Ball Super is the Vegeta and Goku show we need something else please and thanks
