This album features eminent Classical vocalist Ajay Pohankar. The artiste presents various styles in raga Malkauns, which according to him is a mysterious majestic raga of the night, creating a mood of sublimity and reverence. In this album, the artist begins his rendition with a khayal in vilambit ektala. The bandish is traditional. This is followed by a bandish in madhyalaya teentala and a drut bandish in ektala. The album concludes with a Kabir bhajan. In 2009 he was awarded the Tansen Samman by the Government of Madhya Pradesh. His son, Abhijith Pohankar, is also a well-known music composer.
