  • Thank you Jesse Gutierrez for allowing us to film the process. Customer complaint - A/C not cooling and a bad smell coming from the a/c vents.
A/C system had no freon in it. We checked condenser and all lines. Finally, we checked the undercarriage and found the green dye coming from the a/c drain. Evaporator Core leaked out the freon and needs to be replaced.
Check out this 10 hour job in time warp!!!

My ‘13 F250 King Ranch just went through this. The job may be a 10 hour clock time but the dealer had my truck for 8 “work days”. Regardless of comments about music or narration it is nice to see what these guys had to do and what my truck went through.

I got it done in 8 hrs Really easy. I did not remove the dash completely, i swung it away from the evap box, and i left the battery in place

You were able to replace the Evap with the HVAC box in place?

I have the same truck I took it to ford for ac service they recharge the system but couple weeks later same problem. I took it back and now they told me is the evaporator has a leak. $2600 and about two weeks later I got it back drove it home the key fob didn't work locking or unlocking the door or remote start. So I inmidiatly drove back to ford they check the key replace the battery check the truck and told me it's the key it went bad he suggested getting a new set of keys for just under $400. But didn't have any in stock to come back next week. So I went home thinking and started looking for you tube help. And found it they left the wires for the remote antenna unplugged. I fix that problem.
    Now problem 2
I live in California had not had to use the heater until recently only to find out that it doesn't work nor I can change the position of the vents. It's stock in front and floor.
So here I go back to ford they just told me that they fix the hot to cold issue that they found something unplugged. But they need to take the dash out again to change the actuator for the vents. ESTIMATE IS $3000 AGAIN. I don't feel like paying again for something they didn't do. This sucks...😡😡😡

This is the perfect example of how hard it is to find truly good mechanics lol. Half of them just don’t care Or take shortcuts to get it done quicker. Scary using the dealer sometimes .

Update on this issue. I did go back and talk to the manager and he agreed to eat the labor cost if I paid for the parts, which I did. Replace the heater core, actuator and some other stuff. So I ended paying $1600. ..thinking this was the end of it. No sir....the system was leaking freon. But I went to a ac shop that works on big rigs ac.
The problem was the valve core things on the inlet tube. They were leaking. They replaced them recharge the system. No problem no more. And the best thing ( I had told them about the issues i had with ford shop ) they didn't change a dime ....

The symptoms I'm getting for my truck it smells like coolant on my vents passenger side on the floor is wet and ac stopped blowing cold air it blows it sometimes but ony in the morning

@@bris9984 basic hand tools sockets, extensions etc. definitely sounds like a leaking heater core but the a.c could be something else maybe low on freon that would have to be diagnosed properly if you do the job do yourself a favor and replace the ac temperature sensor that lives in the hvac housing by ac evaporator when that sensor goes it sends a false evaporator temperature reading shutting off the ac
