@@ThEtEcHnOsAm Interesting! This observation would lend evidence to my suspicion iRacing is borking fixed setups of old cars to drive sales for cars for which they are still paying licence fees.

Sure, the netcode shunt triggered a bit early. But looking at the road seams, you were drifting slightly over to the left side of the track beforehand.. And coming directly after your off-track, it doesn't seem right that you just shrugged it off as "netcode". You did initially give him a "sorry", but I disagree with your post-race analysis of the incident.
100% caused by netcode. I stand by my summary.
I agree with you picklock, it be no means looks intentional but at 18:19 after his steering correction he angles the car slightly left before then keeping his wheel straight which would have inevitable caused the crash without netcode just from pinching him out which is tough since he made the mistake and the guy behind was probably just guessing where safely to continue without slowing down. May have been a hair different of a collision without netcode but the guy did try to brake a split second before the collision so he saw him squeezing to the left. Dave you can clearly see before the collision that you were driving at a slight angle to the left but I am sure it was an accident
@@aboucrew3712 I may have been driving at a slight angle but still plenty of room. Watch the onboard at 0.25 if you can be bothered and check my steering on the telemetry 👍
@@davecamm Yeah I did that before I commented. Which the steering on the telemetry was slight left before straightening up so you were going straight but slight angle. I think pinlock was just sharing that if someone has an off like you did to just make sure to give more room than you would normally without the off. Cause he paid the penalty of your off by being squeezed unintentionally. There was room for both parties, just racing incident.
Side note, the loss of traction in that cayman was terrible in the first right hander which is just weird cause the last corner you were getting such great exits on a similarly paced right hander.
@@aboucrew3712 in practice it wasn't like that at all. Just as soon as I entered the race server there was no grip on that turn. Very strange.

You've gotta ignore the rev lights and shift very late to 6th on the Cayman, at around 232kmh
I had a similar experience today with the Porsche. I love driving it but it just won't turn or stop that well at Monza. The Aston was 1 second quicker without trying hard at all.
This is why I believe fixed-setup events should be confined to single car. All that happens is most competitors will work out which car is fastest and use that. If I was being suspicious, I would say iRacing is adjusting fixed setups to help them sell a specific car that week. Q: What is the incentive to do that? A: Licence fees cost money and often have a minimum cost even if the car does not sell.
Found this to be the case. Makes me sad as it's my daily... Moved to the McLaren pretty quickly.

Porsche you really need to turn in later in T1 and you can carry the car full speed in no issues. But even then you’re 1-4 mph slower even at full speed
@19:44, I can clearly see a slight bump before the larger collision. If there is no steering input at that point, there's definitely something that cause Dave's car to point more to the left and hit Jason.
IMHO, Dave was indeed trying to squeeze Jason by defending outside. But that sudden shift, followed by braking to correct it, happened before the collision.
At worst, this is a racing incident and there's nothing to "admit" to, as some are calling.
Bro even with netcode Dave turns into Jason and causes the incident. It is a racing incident, but its still Daves fault.

20:03, it's netcode, but you're also angled to the outside to take his space, the netcode just makes it happen quicker.

@@davecamm question for you. Looked at your iracing account and noted your first year of iracing you were around 1500 ir. Then from year 1.5-2 you shot up to 4000 ir. What can you attribute that substantial gain in speed and ir in that 6 month span? Thanks Dave 😊
I just did my first GT4, like 20 minutes ago. I was in BMW and the 2 Porsche cars crashed out.

Wow how does a Porsche understeer that much ?I usually have the opposite problem with the damn things rear trying to overtake the front around fast corners .
In practice it wasn't like this at all. I've no idea what was going on.

The Porsche is the Cayman GT4. It's not a 911 GT3 or GT2. So yes, as people have said, it's down on power compared to the others.

Ignore the comments saying the incident was your fault Dave, they must not have watched the replay view from the chase cam. You gave him enough space before that netcode bump turned you left, as I'm sure you already know!.

Did you have any issues with the fast right? I had zero in practice but the race server had way less grip.

Porsche has always been down on top speed.
And yeah you lose time through 3 but you gain time in all the other turns.
Well they made the GT3R slow, and the GT4 terrible handling, great considering those were the two cars I have used the last few seasons.

I think id you look at the in car view from you car, you will see the steering twitch to the left just before the impact with Jason, a slight bit of over correction after coming off the kerb a slewing over to the right, net code also had a bit of a hand maybe, Sorry Dave not often I find against you, but this time I fear it was 100% on you

nah mate, that's the weird glue bug, you can see it when cars overlap into each other. Had that the other day, my steering wheel was then like a rock, couldn't turn it at all until we were unglued
