The Old Gettysburg Village was actually an attraction in the 1970's. It was set up to look like what Gettysburg looked like at the time of the battle. You went from "store" to "store" while the animatronic characters talked about the events before and after the battle. Hunt's recently announced that they are retiring.
Another gem! Can’t wait to see some more Gettysburg videos! I really need to make a point to visit this town. Having stayed in Harrisburg and Hershey I know how the pricing works. That’s business. Hope you thoroughly enjoyed your time in Gettysburg!😀

Rita's is the best! They have so many yummy desserts but every time I am going to order something different, I have to come home with 2 tubs of chocolate water ice to put in the freezer. I cannot help it! I miss that place being nearby!
Heading out to pay respect for the 249th Anniversary of the Battle of Battles of Concord & Lexington & Menotomy, Battle Road and where Samuel Whittmore made his stand, so will be watching this video when we get home later.
We stayed here in May, it’s really an ideal location. Best part is you can walk to the Dobbin House and don’t have to hassle with the parking. Best of all it’s not spooky, some places we’ve stayed here are creepy.

Thanks for the great tour! Sad they don't allow the ghost tours! Maybe something happened. You are definitely paying for location - that price is a bit steep. The room is very clean and nice and standard lil breakfast, but the price is a bit much for that. I love that you can always walk to fun things in this area!
You are welcome. Gettysburg can be expensive. There is a Super Eight about ten minutes from where we were staying. We stayed there a few times in the summertime .When the hotel prices are very expensive it is a budget hotel. Thanks for watching and commenting. 😎😎
@@jbinthehills I would pay it; just saying it is expensive. hehee In comparison to Super 8, it is worth it. I am not a Super8, Motel6 person anymore. LOL I don't mind barebones, but I have had some bad experiences the last time I ever stayed at them (broken heater, dirty, things like that). The worst though, were Days Inn and Econolodge. I am more likely to stay in places you try. I know I have to pay it if I want to be in the middle of things and in a touristy area. I would definitely have to check out the Center to see all the ghost tours and spots, plus all the great eateries like you show. You are the perfect tour guides! Travel Agents Extraordinaires!

Very nice motel and room. If you go just around an hour and a half east of there you will end up in New Hope Pennsylvania which is right near Washington's Crossing and also Peddler's village. It's very historical and beautiful and much nicer than the Gettysburg area. There is so much to see and do and hundreds of shops and restaurants. Then you can go across the bridge there the Delaware River where you end up in Lambertville New Jersey which is another super nice historical area with fantastic shops and restaurants then around an hour east of there is Great Adventure theme park and Drive Through Safari which is another terrific thing to do. Just trying to give you some alternative ideas . There is also the beautiful Pocono Mountains ❤🇺🇸🙏🏻✌🏻

Wow guys great video. I've told you before how much we love Gettysburg. We will be going the first week of June. We always stay at 1863 and love it there. I know you guys like to stay there too but we always wondered about where you're staying. My husband wanted me to ask you was it better than 1863? We've only stayed one other place in all the time we went there and it's the bed and breakfast right by 1863 inn.. Brickhouse Inn. Very nice but felt guilty about not staying at 1863. At 1863 they know us by name when we walk in lol. So how does cemetery inn compare to 1863? Would love your opinion. Thanks for a great video again.
We have a loyalty card at the 1863 so the price is cheaper for us. The room seemed bigger in the 1863.. But we enjoyed sitting outside at Cemetery Hill. The location is awesome. But the location is great at 1863. If you guys like to get in the pool, Cemetery Hill does not have one. If I couldn't get the room that we stayed in this time at Cemetery Hill, for a good price, I would choose the 1863. We like both places , but we would probably lean towards the 1863 hotel. I'm afraid to visit Gettysburg because there are so many claims that it's haunted. My teenage son loves history, and Gettysburg would be an easy stop on our way to Hershey Park. During your time there, have either of you gotten the impression that it's really haunted?
If your son likes history, you should go in May. They do free ranger tours . The Eisenhower house is free to tour. You go to the park service and they will take you out on a bus. There have been a few places where we experience strange things. But I have never had any strange experiences in any hotel rooms. I think you would enjoy the history tours. They have the double-decker buses. I think they are around 40 dollars. The only bad thing about going is that little round top is still shut down. But it should be opening soon.😎😎
It wasn't because the town is not busy right now especially on a Sunday and Monday. No cars on the street by 8:30. The town gets packed on the weekends. So we don't know how that would be. Plus Hotel had nobody so we can't say if you could hear through walls. Great location though😎😎
Do you ever carry a black light? You can buy them at harbor freight for very cheap and it will show any weird stains in your hotel rooms. I was just curious
Sad when you realize that the small shops and businesses have closed. Everyone is content with online shopping, but that's no fun. I'm afraid that will happen in our beloved smokies.

My husband and I stayed at this hotel twice. The second time we brought our dogs. Staff is very friendly and accommodating. We love it there.
