- Meant to say, Im gonna keep this ellisonic pickup but If anyone wants this tele it will come with a very vibey old Seymour Duncan 59 1980s Humbucker for you to enjoy.

I guess it's tele week. Guthrie Trapp gave us the story of his redwood tele yesterday. That Les Paul is gorgeous.
Who does your refrets? I have a Tele that needs to be refretted.

I have the Ellisonic in the P90 configuration in the neck of my Novo Miris T. What a killer pickup indeed! I paired mine with the Ellis 52B and the middle position tones are just awesome!
I sold those new at a Gibson dealer when I was about 18...Knew they were special -- something about the middle position with the alnico and bridge pickup working together...should have bought one back then....

Watching you and Uncle Larry and Guthrie, you all seem to play SO much lighter than i do...especially compared to my heavy right hand when playing rock rythmns. I wonder if you have talked about this in an episode i may have missed? Thanks as always man!

So glad I clicked on this when I did! The tone on that Tele is SO nice. I saw DavidSummerville351 mention Guthrie Trapp, so I will too... the magic of this tele reminds me a lot of the tones that GT can get... and for all who know, Uncle Larry commented that GTs tone is as if "wrapped in Egyptian sheets!!" There is something quite magical along those sonorous lines here, too. Always appreciate hearing you play, Jedd!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

Wow cool Les Paul!
The neck shape on that old LP sounds my '73 Les Paul Deluxe. Really cool C-shape that starts out sorta skinny (but not flat like the Slim Taper thing) and gets quite chunky. Haven't played a new Gibson that feels like that at all.
I have a Tele VERY similar to that one, with a Bigsby and a Seth Lover neck humbucker. This would be an amazing pickup to swap in.
But... my dream is to put in an original Ellisonic (one that's made to fit Julian Lage's Collings signature), with a Killa in the middle position. Sounds crazy, I know, and it would take some creative routing and wiring, but it would look killer lol, and hopefully sound just as good.
I've come back here almost every day, mostly just to hear your playing, and partially to hear that Ellisonic. I've also always loved those old Black Beauties, and I think that 70's era Reissue is awesome.

That was hot. I was not feeling practicing I was messing with fourths nerdy boredom. But that was hot. Defiantly gonna practice voice leading. Nice playing bro.

that small batch of guitars is/was a wonder ...some say they were leftover parts from the 50s ...I particularly wanted to get my hands on the goldtop 54 brother with wraparound bridge but they/it escaped me and now they're way too expensive ...very nice
I usually hate gold hardware too but on that "Earthenware" refin I think it passes...
Norlin DID create a few good ones -- this one and the 2 P90's Goldtop reissue are pretty damn good

Nice Les Paul find Jedd. That thing is sweet! I have a '79 Custom that I finally refretted after playing it with the low "fretless wonder" frets for years. Really brought that guitar to life. Cheers
