Kylie Bowen & Diamond Rio; ESPBRA MAy 22nd 2010

This is Kylie Bowen and her 7yr old Palomino AQHA gelding. Rio has been in training for barrels and is now an A level barrel horse. He usually runs mid-19 second runs, and on this night he didn't have a good night. He was acting stiff, mainly because here at the ranch I'd been occupied working with some of the other horses this week, and didn't get much of a chance to ride him. So when we hit the barrel, he shouldered into it, causing it to go down. So over the next weeks, we'll be riding him more often and really working on getting his shoulder moved over. When I hit this barrel my leg was split open and I now have a huge bruise, which is why I paused after knocking it down.
