Diagnosing & fixing both brake lights not working.

Hyundai Getz 1,4 resolving the brake lights issues.
Important to check fuses first.
Then the bulb and lastly if all seems okay, check the brake light switch at the pedal.

Hello , I need help , I fix my own stuff but this has me beat , 98 Mitsubishi pajero / montero lwb gls , I have no top brake light and no rear wiper , i have turn signals , bottom brake lights work , I have tested the bulbs and the cluster and fuses , I hit a huge pot hole smelled some plastic burn, lost my alternator the
A/T light battery light came on was down to 9v I replaced with new one thats all good but I can't find why brake and rear wiper won't work , is there a relay or something obvious or secret im missing ? any ideas? Would massively appreciate any wisdom I'm not usually one to ask but I have to admit I can't work it out .
