Les actually painting something for my army - this must be my lucky day! Congrats on the superb (as usual) work.
Les, you're an inspiration to any model painter out there. Love your work.
Great job so far. Can't wait for part 2. This theme goes great with Halloween. The music in the background makes it even better. I really like how you use the scotch bright pad for the smoke effect and the Florence green is killer. Awesome!
Really looking forward to part 2. The Vampire Counts range has some fantastic centrepiece models and if there's anyone who can do them justice, it's Les.
You're really a master of color choice. Nice work Les.
Excellent work Les, cant wait for the next one.
Very nice work, and I too do like the Geiger look, its always a pleasure to see your painting.
You make it look so easy man with that airbrush damn you lol always great to see your work.
Amazing tutorial. Thanks for sharing!
Fantastic Vid! can't wait till the next one. I really like the use of the scotchbrite pad... awesome!
Great video, an amazing miniature as well
1:30 in and already better than anything ive ever painted 😂
H.R.G. is wicked sick. Paul Booth is a dark artist, he makes death beautiful.
This is AMAZING!
One of the best airbrush tutorials I´ve seen so far - love it! Thanks so much for sharing.
i guess it's quite randomly asking but does anyone know of a good site to watch new tv shows online?
@Drake Kason i dunno try Flixportal. you can find it if you google =) -devin
@Devin Ace Thank you, I went there and it seems to work =) Appreciate it !!
@Drake Kason glad I could help =)
I have to admit I don´t like that particular model, but the paintjob is absolutely amazing! Looking forward to Part 2 and more vids!
Might use that scotch pad technique for my dark eldar's flicker fields! really cool
thanks for tutorial, waiting second part
Very badass and this helps me with my airbrushing =)
looks awsome
Simply amazing, thank you for this and your other videos as well. I have been wanting to ask, I've been looking at pictures of Eldar models painted by theyellowone, and he makes them look very Giger-esque, Any suggestions as to what stencils to use, or air brush techniques? Thank you in advance for any or all answers :)
The effect with the steel wool would probably work pretty nicely for a grey/white mottled horse also :) great video cheers
17:30 In a lot of places (particularly the States), Future is now known as Pledge Floor Finish with Future Shine. It's the exact same stuff as Future, just under a different name. It can typically be found in supermarkets like Wal-Mart and Stop & Shop.
Thanks! That's good info!
was it hard to work the white/scotch bright on the insides of model? In hindsight would you do it as separate pcs and then assemble?
are these games workshop paints? if not them how do you do this using gw paints?
Love the work as always and appreciate sharing your talents. do you thin the Inks down at all or just use them like your other paints when airbrushing? Thanks.
Excelent tutorial, when do you have the Part 2? I am excited
Could you use the green tints from Badger to get the same effect as the Green Ink coat?
Nice work!
I keep the tip for the smoke :)
When can we expect part 2? This video was fantastic; I'm eager to see it all come together.
Can I use green glaze from GW instead of the green ink ?
Wow, just wow. Utterly gorgeous. I've recently been getting more and more into airbrushing, been starting fairly simple with things like the glows and wubwubs on 40k Necrons etc. This video is making me edge back towards my Vampire Counts, a lot of which need either finished or repainted. Planning on using your methods here on my whole army, only with blue tones instead of green to give it a "marching at night" effect. I do have a few questions though... firstly, given the use of blue tones, what could I use instead of the Fluo Green? Vallejo don't appear to do a Fluo Blue. Secondly, how/what do you use to mix your paints in before putting them in the airbrush? Many thanks, looking forward to more vids!
Hey, I am having trouble finding these particular paints. Do you know a good webstore that I can order paints from? I am in the states.
do you use a fine needle in your airbrush?
I would like to see how you paint warmachine CRYX in a similar green colour scheme! I need paint by numbers haha.
what song is in the back ground?
great job btw im gona have a crack tomorrow =D
Good point about matching the skellies with whatever the throne material is. The "Giger" bio-mechanical looks great. However it spawned a thought in me, going back the other way: what if you wanted bone skellies? Then the throne becomes warped, mutated, deformed bone material. I think that could look really cool... however it may be a little too "chaos-y", I dunno.
What Airbrush to you suggest ?
Very broad question, I now see that you use some thinning depending on the amount of coverage you need. Thanks again for sharing.
That is correct. Things you will pick up as you paint more.
Hey there Lester, I love this video and I will attempt to follow roughly what you did with my Mortis Engine. I am wondering, at 17:30 you use an ink mixed with dish soap. Won't that potentially mess up the undercoat depending on how strong the soap is?
+Gieljan Francke P.S. and do you think a glaze medium might do the trick of reducing surface tension in the same way?
Very interesting effect with the steelwool, I am very curious to see where you take this is the next part. Your vision is not really clear to me yet :D
Didn't look like steel wool that he was using. Just a normal hard plastic scouring pad.
Yeah, I think you may be right :)
Les, sweet painting as always. Here's the question... what kinds of pressure are you using on the airbrush to work that close in? Thanks!
Thanks! Between 10-25 psi. Just depends on what I'm doing.
How do you get the scotch pad to pull apart mine don't seem to pull apart
Just pulled carefully. I used an aluminumoxide scotch bright pad for this video. www.amazon.com/3M-HP-HP-Scotch-Brite-Hand-Pad/dp/B00125PR5A/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1426703655&sr=8-1&keywords=Scotch-Brite%E2%84%A2+7448
Hey Lester, do you have a link where I can purchase a figure like this?
+Alicesynwonderland Here you go! www.games-workshop.com/en-BE/Vampire-Counts-Mortis-Engine
Nice effect. I am reminded of The Army of the Dead from Return of the King
That was some of the inspiration :) Glad you like it.
Hi , Doctor Cranky gave you a rave review on his recent video and said to check you out. He's right , you do nice work!
WELL like it me i paint it with glow in dark paint and mack realy glow
Aww man, I end up getting sat internet with a data cap and you turn up the heat making a ton of great vids. Can I get the vids in any other way? Would being a top tier Patron help?
What happened to your music on SoundCloud?
Getting a bunch professionally mastered so I can send to distribution to be sold on itunes, amazon, google play etc. So I took the ones I plan to work on down and plan to keep loops and work in progress songs on SC.
Ahh I enjoyed them while working on things myself
Just FYI, when you talk about the skeletons looking like a Giger design, it's actually pronounced "GEE-GER"
wwelll like it but dos it GLOW IN DARK me my hole vamp army GLOWS IN DARK thats one thing i will have do when i get one :::)))
GRRRREEEEEEENNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
