Man I miss real documentaries like this about the town like we had in the early 2000s. No culture vultures, no out of towners, just those that really grew up in the town
I’m up at 5am and this showed up on my feed. Great words of wisdom! This is what brothas need!
This the best Oakland interview I’ve watched I feel like I relate so much when he started talking about books and spirituality
I lived on 25th and Foothill in 1999 when we were moving in C was in front doing his thing. I love you guys, especially lit-brite. I know you remember me and my family me and Sam are still together, our son has his bachelor's right now working in Paris.
Proud of my relationship with you, your brother Fats, burger,Jermaine, and T-roy and passion
Hey babe. God bless you.
It's funky but it's fair
Og got a real authentic story 💯💯💯💯 ain’t to many like you left
It was a crazy time but we made it through. Look out for the book coming soon and check out Fly on the Wall by Zoe tha Roasta.
I don’t know this brother, but man I’ve seen hundreds of OG interviews and the humility on this brother shines bright much love 🦾😎
Damn this got me thinking about my life and me and my homies right now so much life gone and so many memories left in the streets almost all of the people he knew or grew up with is gone it’s like they never existed in todays world honestly thinking about it the game cold 🥶 good advice og got me thinking about a lot of changes
Big Bro I love this documentary! We need more of these! 😁🙌🏾
Thank you Mr. Amir Hasan. The excellent recounting of you life journey makes a nice outline for a book. I’m almost 78 and grew up in North Oakland and your language resonated, especially the sharing of your inner life. Blessings.
Thank you sir.
We where raised by real OG’s like this. It ain’t been the same in the Bay forever.
He said, "Being in Prison for 10yrs is like being an Army Veteran". Nah! As a Military Veteran we lived life and not with that bullshit that was fucking up the Community. We had jobs that didn't fuck up the City of Oakland. Oakland was a beauty in the 70's and beautiful creative people came from this City. Oakland was tarnished during his times on the Streets. A lot of INNOCENT people lost their lives that were not in the Streets. The results of all that bullshit from the 80's is a byproduct of what you see when you walk outside today...Sad!
I’ve been watching CZcams now for quite some time and this is the first video Im commenting on.
Brother C. Excellent job. Thanks for sharing your story of wisdom, strength, experience and coming into your own. Much appreciation
Thanks and welcome
All good bruh, I to am from the town left in 80’s you know what it is. Looking forward 2 more bad ass content
Thanks bro and you’re welcome.
Glad you made it to tell your story Bro. Stay up
That shit looked way different in the 80’s then now
i watched the whole lick this dude is easy to listen to. wish nothin but peace and prosperity to everyone who sees this.
My pops used to sell herion on 23rd and E15th $treet. One of the first Mexicans selling hop ,black tar in the dubbs all thru the 80s , we lived there ,right behind the liquor store on 23rd and e15th. My pops drilled two holes on the back door to see the knocks. I was a youngster 6 ,7 years old. We was like Royalty on the Block ,Real Talk.

Those were the good old days grew up on 23rd and East 14th 2283 at the apartment building owned by the Chacon family during the late 80s early 90s
When I was a little kid, I used to work at that store on the corner of East 14th and 23rd

When I was a kid in the early 70$ the ogs respected the youngstas we were off limits times changed so much
I lived on 26th and Foothill in the mid 90's and I remember Big Chris. Big Chris was very well respected 🫶🏽
2600 we was fruitvale boys in front laundromat and apartments R.I.P Chris
Definitely enjoyed his knowledge now I know where I’m going thx💯
Man, this brother is got hard grind KNOWLEDGE, I had some friends back on the east Coast that would have benefited from this knowledge.
Unfortunately they got locked up in the Connecticut prison system, pushing that rock and they took everyone on the block after these brothers was buying Benzs and boat's in the hood, after one year of the po po surveillance, they came in around 3 am and went from house to house, kicking in doors , 50 of my classmates was given manitory life sentences, Connecticut threw the book at them!!! Unlike Cali
When I go home and pass by the hood I see their kids playing on the block and my Buddy's would say "yo that's so and so's son or daughter's
And these guys had it all, scholarships to go to college, parents worked hard in them manufacturing plants. So sad
The block grind will get you two things. A cell or a coffin to lay in . God bless this brother and Thank the producers of this eye and mind opening documentary, they say their are hoods all over the United States, so it's not where you are from , it's where you are at in your head. Peace ✌️
One love family. The drug game is a part of the war on our people.
Damn. That’s messed up. 🙏🏾
Interesting times, my Father lived near Garfield by Tony's liquor store.

*I grew up on 35th ave and Foothill. Once I crossed the street to a market, and bought some candy in the mid 70's. I was about 5 years old. When some bigger 7 or 8 year old walked towards me, and snatched the candy out of my hand. So, I punched upwards and hit him directly in the mouth. It was on that day forward, I never took sh**#t** from anybody. No matter how big you were. The life-long struggle ensued from there lol. At King City boxing gym with 46 amateur fights.. Until, I graduated at Cal State* 🤔
Purple passion being from Oakland we all got that cautious tale

No cap I lived in those apartments they rolled like Bart
See what he said and I too remember those times when neighbors knew what was going on but we were still respectful and they knew how the police was and we would help them or give them money for helping us , not terrorize them , threaten or break in they homes and that’s why they helped or tolerated us. Today they calling because look at how disrespectful and how the youngsters get at them . These are your people also but if u treat them like an enemy or irrelevant what are they supposed to do ? And if u so raw or that guy y dont u have your own spot , not trying to take over they shit but still needing someone to even pay your phone bill but u a killer
