There's a reason he is a pornography defender:
"In November 2017, Charlie Rose was fired from CBS and PBS after The Washington Post published multiple in-house allegations of sexual harassment from the late 1990s to 2011" (from his Wikipedia)
MacKinnon is spot on as always.

What I'm seeing through these 80s and 90s tapes is that feminism hasn't advanced but receded.

If it’s okay, could you elaborate on how? I’m new to learning much of the history.

@@hannahv7303 I think it's easier to say in what way it hasn't: in appearance.
Feminism is now superficially everywhere, in pretty much the same way that ecology is on everyone's mouths, from corporations to politicians while the actual damage to the planet only gets worse.
Women are losing rights that they had in the 90s despite feminism being more mainstream than ever.

I am still glad that her work led to the MeToo movement, even if there are still leaps and bounds to go till we reach equality.

I really appreciate that Mackinnon said "you learn it in the body." That's a crucial point. How the body and mind process information isn't only dependent on nature. When you learn through the body, it becomes instinct.
Sidenote: This guy needs to stop talking over her.

9 minutes in and I'm so annoyed my face is getting red. This "journalist" keeps outing himself as a porn defender, contradicting her and trying to get her to say that not all porn watchers are misogynists and harassers, and later turns out to be a sexual harasser himself...
The case itself is a great disappointment, where Hill, while backed up by 4 other female witnesses which were never questioned as well as a polygraph test supporting her claims, still didn't stand a chance against a male, backed up by other males in a male-dominated space, who wriggled his way out by claiming racism.

He keeps interrupting so much I can't hear what she's saying 😞 ... and then he just talks over her 10:19. Ugh.

Yep, and he keeps deliberately misinterpreting her and assuming bad faith.
      "You believe her?"
      "Yes."
"YOU AS A LAWYER WOULD CONVICT HIM OF SEXUAL ASSAULT BY TESTIMONY ALONE?!"
What a dishonest piece of crap.

Angela Wright. Apparently there was another victim of sexual harassment prepared to testify against Thomas. See the NYT article "‘Nothing Has Changed’: Angela Wright Reflects on the Anita Hill-Clarence Thomas Hearings" Good catch!
