Ultrasonic Cleaners cleates cavitations bubbles to work - these bubbles implode in the tank sending out shock waves which heat up the liquid. If you look carefully you can sometimes see the flashes of these implosions through the liquid.
Hi Hoocho, FYI - ultrasonic cleaners are also incredible tools for cleaning hydroponic parts (especially 3D printed ones). I would love to see you test that in a video!
I don't drink but I do bake. Vanilla extract in under 6 months would be great. I'll have to try it.
Yeah this is great. When tweaking the flavour profile of my homemade wines and meads I frequently wish I could have a homemade extract for some specific spice, root, flower or wood available. With this I can!
I came from your main channel. I got to say I'm digging this content on this one as well! Keep it up.
Pro tip for measuring sticky/problematic things. Just place whole container on scale, zero it out then by taking some of it youll see 'minus' weight that is exacly what you just took.
0 problems, no dirty side containers, etc.
Great idea!
Haha I just grabbed one of these for this exact reason. And to clean copper. Pro tip don’t be wearing Bluetooth headphones when you turn it on. Scared the bejesus outta me 😅
Love this type of video mate, keep this channel pumping as well as Hoocho's!
Nice! Great idea and good testing. Might be nice to try blending and diluting some of those extracted flavours.
I see it in a lot of ways, I'd mostly use it with normal/cheap spiced rhum to make them my taste and better/sweeter tasting to appreciate it with mates, people i invite over etc.. just chilling, sipping etc..
But if you like getting tipsy, it can be expensive doing that every other friday night. So you could get a good but cheap white rhum as a base, do your own arrangement. Either vanilla, honey, orange peel or only charred wood barrel chips. And enjoy your multiple shots way more than straight puke memory flavored white rhum xDDD
Even just to elevate your cocktails, instead of doing a mojito with white rhum, elevate it by infusing honey and vanilla, then use it for your mojitos.
In the incoming months ill try that, really really curious to how it'll go !
Also if people could try : pressurized + ultrasound aging at the same time with a dual purpose DIY machine I'd be soooo curious about the result. Like a pressure chamber but with an ultrasound cleaner base
I dont have a drinking , i dont have a drinking problem , well maybe a small one 😂 , this looks like a great past time to experiment with 👍
👍 great video, I've got a small ultrasonic cleaner for gold, ill have to give it a try.
I often over oak mine, sometimes it's perfect other times it tastes as your drinking a tree, I always keeping some in spirit on the chips and then topped up with more neutral and new chips.
All my old chips go in big jars then the topped up with heads and tails, leave for months (sometimes), haft the time it comes out nicer than the hearts.
This gives me some great ideas for sure! Thanks for the great video! Now to see if I can rapidly aerate a glass or two of wine and make it taste better than it should!
BIG DOOOOOOOOOG! Hell yeah, first ginger beer, now the big time! Very cool
Nice love all the video's and both chanels watch them with my 7 month year old during quiet time
I am all about this. I have been watching other channels that are using oak staves but it still takes them months/years
Nice one Hoocho. That Gin looks tasty. 😉😉
wow.. youve done some pretty brilliant shit but i honestly think this may take the cake. i dont drink anymore but this seems like a REALLY good reason to upgrade my ultrasonic cleaner (i only use mine for cleaning parts)!
I dont drink alcohol but infusions of anything is pretty exciting.
Nice 1 Mr Hoocho. Interesting way to speed up the process. Whats next bread proving in a vacuum chamber? Keep up the great work.
Interesting. Could you please do a Captain Morgan style spiced rum?
Hoocho what the heck! I had no idea you had another channel. Subbed.
ok, so i for sure need to get one of these ultrasonic cleaners then.
I have aged my sugar-based moonshine just by putting oak in the jar and letting it sit for a few days to a week. This method seems certainly faster, would be interesting to compare the taste.
Wow! What a great idea!
I just thought about a great experiment: using biochar in hydroponics! Have you tried it?
Hey Hoocho, You mention infusing alcohol with chilli, would this work with Ginger Beer?
Great video! I was wondering if "spiriting down" the overaged spirits with some unaged spirit could help you reach a flavor you like?
Another thing you could try with this ultrasonic cleaner is cooking sous vide in it. I have heard it can make tough foods tender while cooking. Making cheap steaks as tender as more expensive steaks.
What size ultrasonic cleaner are you using?
Try it with lime zest and mint?
What size is this cleaner?
Is that the 3L model?
Very interesting! Amazing how quickly you can just do a test to find out whether a recipe works or not without it taking a month. How much does the big white spirit jar run you?
$1.70 per litre to produce
@@AllTheGear-NoIdeaeeeeeexcept it’s completely illegal to distill alcohol in Australia without a licence 😂

In your search of others doing ultrasonic aging, did you happen to come across thought emporium on youtube. I feel like you might like his channel.
a Switchbot device would take care of the switching that ultrasonic on. Cheap and easy...
Dude, we have so many of the same hobbies. Have you looked into rapid esterification with intense light and heat? I remember reading some papers on it a couple years ago.
I'm also into hydroponics, electronics, 3d printing, brewing, distillation.... House plant hydroponics.
This is weird internet territory but mate I reckon we'd get along IRL. I live in Brisbane also!
I'd be keen as to meet up for a beer one day mate. I'm best mates with the head brewer of brewdog brewery in Brisbane too! We could meet there one day for a beer and do a behind the scenes look through the brewery if you're keen?
Ps I literally have the same ultrasonic cleaner from vevor, just got delivered! Though I'm using mine for cleaning parts for a business I'm starting, haven't tested it yet... But this will be on the cards for me to test too! I've got like 40L of stripped spirit in the garage to play with...
Nice one Hoocho. Are you distilling your own hooch? That could make for a good video. There is a 2 part vid on my channel for making ethanol if you may be interested. Cheers.
Hard to say 😊
Real electronic chip level repairer's use ultrasonic's to clean computer components.
What was that? I think Scotland just rolled over... oh dear.
aaaand im blind.
