Got any suggestions on where I should go next? Let me know!!!
Welcome to iTripReport's flight reviews, which I focus on reviewing both the soft product and hard product of airlines around the globe. I strive to give you guys a first person perspective of different aspects of the flight. Including the ground service, onboard service, and those views that come with the flight. As you can see, I record quite a lot of the experience to make sure I record what you want to watch. As always, thank you so much for watching.
19:03 We could hear the Autopilot Disconnect from the cabin which is rare. Did they left the cockpit door open?
Nice video, the food looked great, and I loved watching those beautiful Portuguese hillside villages as the plane flew into Lisbon airport!
Yo ice
quality video once again
Hey there! Glad that you enjoyed flying with TAP. I always fly TAP and I do fly an average of 3 two way flights a month. I flew in these new LR's twice, business class, from Milan Malpensa and from Paris Orly to Lisbon. I enjoy TAP onboard service, and for my experience, it is by far one of the cheapest 'flagship carriers' in Europe.
I'm going to guess you have dual US/Mexico citizenship--your choice of using a Mexican passport intrigues me--does Customs in other countries give you less hassle than if you presented a US passport? Knowing that Portuguese and Spanish are closely related, chances are the cabin crew could address you in Portuguese and you would have a reasonable chance of understanding them. So a last-minute decision to fly to LIsbon--upon arrival, did you simply overnight and fly back to the US or did you do some sightseeing? Was surprised the inflight announcements were easily understood, no overwhelming native accents that otherwise would ruin the listening
Fantastic trip report Emil!😸
Amazing business class on a narrow body aircraft, brilliant
Excellent review! Great shots and commentary about the flight. I think you'd do great with a voice-over. Subbed!
👋 Chao.
Great to see a paisano traveling
I Have Experience The Same Product From Porto New York.Great Trip Report
Thank you very much for the video. I was a little hesitant to book it as i was traveling from Accra to Newark via Lisbon, but for the price it truly made a lot of sense. Going to be boarding in about an hour so hopefully my experience will be as good as yours!
Hopefully it did end up being a good experience!
Nice review ❤
Great video. I flew business class in December from Lisbon to Washington DC IAD- due to weather they told us the flight would be 10.5 hours (1.5 hours longer than normal). Upgraded at gate for around 1k euro which was best decisio I made. Great experience loved the cold Sagres but was cut off after 4- turned to wine after that. 😅😂
I have flow on the A321LR before with Aer Lingus and that was on a rare equipment swap from LHR-DUB!
I've been to Portugal twice, and both times with United. I love that when you wake up on your inbound flight from the states it's always sunny and actually day time. You don't get that flying into London, or Paris. (It's always too early)
Yo bro that was an awesome review 🎉
1:35 “United flight 1738” Iykyk
Loved the video, thinking about taking a trip with TAP now.
I haven't flown TAP, but now I'll at least consider them! I flew Jetblue on their narrow body Bos-London in Mint. A different configuration then TAP although I've flown on Jetblue's 'throne' seat cross country previously. My first flight to London when I was 16 was on a 707! So, no I wasn't concerned about being on a narrow body transatlantic, I wonder why some people are.
Thank you for sharing you trip here. No, I have not taken this airline at all. But seeing how you enjoyed it is a good observation of this airline and the service. 😂 Hahaha, you made laugh when you placed your face mask to cover your eyes on!! And you gave a thumbs up! Priceless. Anyway, the dinner meal looked good with the salmon. That single seat is nice but I think for me to it would be tight with my long legs and big feet. 😂 Hahaha!
I still like wide body aircraft crossing the pond that way. When I have flown a narrow body over a lot of ocean it has been fro LAX to Hawaii on the 757s.
I really like TAP, especially long haul. Their domestic onboard service is lacking, but the staff is always great.
In the domestic and European service of less than 3 hours, TAP and most European airlines only serve a menu and charge.
In first class or economy
@@phantomjosh2148 Economy, on first (business) they serve free meal and drinks
@@phantomjosh2148 in economy
I WAS TRACKING BOTH FLIGHTS LAST NIGHT🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯
Wow I’ve seen this flight before at IAD I saw my radar and I saw it infront if my face
Great video,
Is the A321neo more quiet or the 737Max?
Cheers
I feel like I'm right there with you I've always wanted to see what it's like to actually sit in business class you know those throne seats
TAP uses this same type of acft (plane) on their routes to some of their northern Brazilian destinations as NAT (Natal) and BEL (Belém), although they recently have switched the acft type on NAT routes to the Boeing 777. The flight between Lisbon and Belém takes around 8 hours.
The light gray-coloured blanket looked amazing.
I would never leave my passport on a storage bin like you showed in this video. Sometimes we go to the bathroom and the seat (including the side bin) remains unattended. Well, we never know. Passport is a very valuable item.
Your dessert was more of a "Pudim de Leite" (milk pudding) than a real "flan". The "Pudim de Leite" is a very traditional dessert both in Portugal and in Brasil.
It was a good review.
Is the NAT 777 a wetlease? Why not use an A339?
@@dadcelo I believe TAP uses this EUROATLANTIC B777 and B767 for various reasons. Yes, it is a wetlease. TAP also have been using aircraft from HiFly Airlines. NAT (natal) is not a very important marketplace, although it is a beautiful city in the north of Brazil (amazing coastline, just like the Caribbean). TAP used to fly to NAT using A321neo. I guess that the NAT market is not big enough for TAP's own A339s. I guess it is cheaper for the airline to lease acft from EUROATLANTIC FOR THIS ROUTE.
@@MultiSUPERLATIVO Maybe they need more A321LRs. Feels like a 777 is overkill.
@@dadcelo Maybe leasing EUROATLANTIC's B777 is good business for TAP, although it is a huge wide body acft for NAT, imho.
@@dadcelo TAP's been using B763 wet leased from EuroAtlantic due to lack of A321LR available. It already has a couple more on order and is using this aircraft while orders don't arrive. It'll also fly daily to NAT using the A321LR soon.
Yes, I flew Miami to Lisbon in November 2022. I was in 5A on the NeoLR.Ihad access to a lounge in Miami. It was ok but so crowded that I left and just walked around the terminal. I would rate the service slightly lower than you did. Wish I had, had your FA's. I only saw them for the meal service. No Food was excellent and seat/bed comfortable. This was my first experience with a seat/bed. Since I am retired I took TAP because of their the inexpensive fare.. It was approximately 5 hours. We were late arriving and about a month after arriving back home I received refund of about 30 euros for the inconvenience. I am scheduled to fly them again on the same route and equipment, in November of this year. FYI staying at the ATIS Grand in Lisbon before leaving on the Wind Star sailing ship for 14 days Lisbon to Barbados.
⛵
I have traveled several times in TAP and Swiss(only in Europe), and I find the service with the same level of quality only with some slight differences in food, preferring for the sake of personal taste and especially for the wines😅the TAP.
I just love how you allow us to hear and see the engines spooling up on takeoff and climb out, perfect. Hey this seems to be a perfect price/value option and the seat and food looked very nice.
Good video. Do the business class seats on this A321neo recline full flat? It doesnt appear they do from your video.
They do! Sorry if I didn’t specify that but they do.
Great video. How were you able to access the TAP lounge when you arrive in Lisbon? I'll be going in June, arriving early AM, and would be nice to wait in lounge for a few hours until we can check into our hotel.
Unfortunately I don't think you can, if I recall correctly they ask for a connecting flight boarding pass to allow you back into the departures area. At least from what I can remember, I could be wrong though.
That flan recoil tho
Just booked yyz to lis, all throne seats....we flew Bos to lis last year in business found it to be outstanding...at nearly 1/2 the price of others. Do it, you'll thank me later!
I’m very surprised there was no pre-departure beverage service
19:03 with headphones on you can hear them disengage the autopilot
Pls can you talk one small luggage and a back bag to the flight
So, inquiring minds would like to know, what did it cost?
They offered both Johnnie Walker Black and Red. JW Black is my drink. Who would order Red if Black is available? 🤷♂️
That crossed my mind when I was looking at the menu. And honestly, I’d love to meet whoever would do that…
Wow, either that was a weird camera angle, or DCA has a nasty noise abatement departure on that runway.
Yeah that turn was somewhat steep, but the angle did make it seem a little more steeper than what it was
Regarding the lounge never been a fan of the Buffett everyone can touch. We all know people use the bathroom and refuse to wash their hands
I have a question what passport do you travel with
03:49
It looks like the guy is holding the TAP logo in the thumbnail😂😂😂
The flan is à typical portuguese dessert
Hi
Hope you were joking when you talked about the wine, do you know what Porto wine is all about, by the way Portugal has much more wines than Porto 😊
Thanks for a great trip report. Shame on TAP for lack of champagne and tiny amenity kit
Any toiletries in a business class lavatory?
I've flown transatlantic on TAP twice; from IAD to Lisbon in 2020, then January of this year, both times in economy.
While my experience in 2020 was okay, my experience this year was far worse, so when it comes to airlines like TAP, or flying transatlantic on a narrowbody aircraft, I'll definitely avoid it in the future, even in this average business class.
Well, the quality of the report was decent, much better than the skills of the reporter...
When i see someone supposedly with gastronomic competences follow a salmon dinner with scotch, that person is automatically disqualified. When that person informs that in wine he prefers cabernet, everything is said. He's in the prehistoric stage of gastronomy. If the assessment related to the regular food provided in economy class, i could accept. Not from who wants to compare TAP's offer with other (supposedly) premium brands.
More, it's obvious the conclusion that you prefer airline cheap gadgets, probably chinese, instead of very good wine (you showed a regrettable ignorance as to the Port wine and what it follows!) or not ordinary food.
What are your criteria?
Well, whatever: are you or aren't you happy with the balance quality/price? I ask because you final considerations were absolutely confusing, with many "buts"...
Final note.
Being Portuguese, I have nothing to do with TAP, whith whom i flew many times in 50 years, with many disparate impressions, ranging from the bad to the very good.
Actually, I am a frequent flyer with Lufthansa.
What happens is that I don't appreciate presumptuous incompetence.
First, please learn, then speak about.
Great review but you really have no idea whatsoever about alcoholic drinks. 🙄
Idk. I’m not convinced yet about such a small plane flying for that long time.
Every Airlines Should Have IFE System Back Of The Seat 💺 🙄 😒 😑
In terms of price/quality, I don't know better..That's all...
How could anyone eat fish on a plane after watching "Airplane!"? And don't call me Shirley. ;-)
I had the lasagna though…
For a European Portuguese speaking flight crew they need to speak slower so that they spanish-speaker can understand them perfectly.
european portuguese? !!!! eheh
the language is Portuguese
I will never fly a narrowbody across the atlantic. Never. Also wow, that breakfast is sad.
You'd rather connect somewhere on a WB than take that comfy throne nonstop on a NB?
Not inviting you to cross the Atlantic on my private jet 😂😂😂😂
For me, that was not Business Class....it was more like a better than normal Economy Class and I would not pay their price for that Business Class product. Thanks for your review but I doubt that I would ever fly TAP Business!
very poor business class
