  • [ENGLISH BELOW]

    ENGLISH:
Dr. Tun Mahathir bin Mohamad is the fourth and seventh prime minister of Malaysia. He ruled for a total of twenty-four years, making him the country’s longest-serving prime minister. He was also the world’s oldest prime minister when he took office for the second time in 2018 at the age of 92.
In the West, he is seen as controversial for his critical stance regarding neo-colonial policies.
Less well known is that Mahathir was also the initiator of The Kuala Lumpur War Crimes Tribunal in 2005. It was a response to the illegal U.S. invasion of Iraq two years earlier, and the failure of the international institutions to bring this crime to justice. Under his leadership, an international team of judges and lawyers was assembled who based the proceedings on the guidelines of the International Criminal Court in The Hague.
Media Mondo interviews the now 99-year-old Mahathir in his office at the headquarters of the Perdana Leadership Foundation, in Putrajaya, the government city south of Kuala Lumpur. We discussed how hundreds of years of European colonization (Portuguese, Dutch and British colonialism) shaped his country and continues to leave traces.

Just to add what he is missing, prior to independence brit not only monopolize the rubber, they only monopolize tin mining, fold mining and all other mineral mining and trading. The they impose new taxes to the current miners. The royals who own the mining industry stand up against the brit on the mining and taxes that leads to independence. The local royals has been owning mineral mining since who knows. Peninsular was known for its iron ore gold silver and tin. And we are one of the guns producer. We unearth 2 million ancient tyuere recently whilst only 2 found in france 😊😊😊. The brits and royals also bring chnese to work in the mining industry
That is why royals are very rich. And dont ever believe that western come here for spices.they dont even have coriander in their food, until now 😂😂😂
They come here for the gold silver and all material not spices. Similiar to spain who went to south america to get the gold. While Brit, portugal dutch spain is at war at europe and spain went to south america for gold does it make sense dutch portugal and brit come asia for spices? Get real 😂😂😂
But that is the story why west come to colonize asia ✌
      Then tuns story merged here

Tun mentioned the contract workers brought to develop Malaya, 'what contract'? He shouldn't mention anything without evidence, there was no contract. His grandparents stayed back and produced him, and he became Prime Minister, what an irony! The lands of the 'orang asli' were taken away during Tun's premier, that's why the Palm oil is still being boycotted. The native of the land of Malaysia is 'orang asli' and not the Malays; in an actual historical sense Malaysia is still being colonised!

There was genocide against ethnic minorities conducted by pro Soekarno militias in Indonesia 1945-1947. The Bersiap genocide.
In her book Bung Tomo, this psychopath person, Van Pagee, glorifies and defends the perpetrators of these mass murders against civilians; Eurasian, Chinese, and other ethnic minorities in Indonesia.
A period called Bersiap in which thousands of civilians; majority of which elderly, women and children were butchered under the direct command of general Sutomo.
General Sutomo, a prominent leader of ANSOR, later switched camps to Suharto and continued to commit more atrocities against ethnic minorities during the 1965 Indonesian genocide.
As a fact, Marjolein van Pagee is defending and glorifying a multi recidivist genocide perpetrator in her books.

@@ibra5933 I think I'm Jakun😍 - because I was a teacher in Pahang and taught both Malay & 'orang asli' students. The Malay teachers openly discriminate the 'orang asli' students. There's a government clinic near the school where a Malay doctor refused to even touch and treat a 'orang asli' student who was suffering from high fever, the Malay lady doctor said "eeh! apa ni?" and refused to touch and check the student. So, I asked her, 'are you actually a qualified doctor?' and brought the student back to school and gave some Panadol. I kept monitoring him for few days, luckily he recovered🙂.

Actually is not a simple matter as the west forced Japan to revalue their currency. The west have been opening their markets for decades with such low tariffs while Japan prptected their market for decades. They also devalue their currencies for decades while Western Countries had free floating currencies. The West were willing to turn a blind eye on high tariff & currency devaluation for decades. How much more do u want them to give and not take anything in return? By the 80s Japan GDP per capita was already on par with European countries. So it is only fair for the west to demand for fair & reciprocal trade.
While Mahathir did a lot of things in Malaysia that is great for Malaysians. I can't stand this man. He was the reason why Malaysian politics became so corrupt. During Tun Razak & Tun Hussein Onn times, large scale corruption was unheard of. My late grandfather was friends with a former People's Representative back in the 60s in Ipoh. My grandpa said he lived in a wooden decrepit house. These days everybody owns luxury cars that cost hundreds of thousands of ringgit. Leaders back then had clean hands. Mahathir came in and he let all his ministers become corrupt. Names such as Rafidah, Hishamuddin, Najib, etc. Were all involved in many2 corruption scandals. He also purposely left rural Malaysia to rot because he likes wasting taxpayers money building white elephant projects like Putrajaya, KLCC, Proton, etc. All projects that are useless & cause billions & billions of loss of tax revenue. Imagine if all this money were used to build roads in Sabah, Sarawak, Pahang, Kelantan, Terengganu, etc. By now Malaysia would have been a developed economy already. Mahathir only cares about the Klang District. Now Sabah & Sarawak are getting angry. Decades of taking their resources with nothing in return, who can blame them? Mahathir wasted our money all for nothing that is not worth to be proud of.
To top it off. He just needed to make one last comeback and almost destroyed our political scene. Causing one of the biggest political crises in Malaysian history & for 2 years we suffered from one of the most unstable political landscape ever. Now he is joining forces with everything that moves as long as it wasn't from Anwar's party. Now he wants to divide race even more than he did before. The guy doesn't care about Malaysia. He cares about himself & his family.
