- Hi guys 😀
Happy you're here!
A huge thank you for getting me to 1000 subscribers I'm over the moon!
Today I'm using a mixture of pouring mediums, the This Little Piggy #TLP pigment was mixed with the Sheleeart special recipe and the normal acrylics with Floetrol.
My style has changed and evolved dramatically since I took the Sheleeart E-Course and I can't recommend it enough! If you too would like to evolve your art and find your own style using knowledge gained from taking the course, head over to sheleeart.com.au/ and use my discount code of sheleeart15NDA to receive a 15% discount from the E-Course. Once joined you will get access to the private Sheleeart Facebook group where Shelee hosts live video classes, your learning just won't stop!
Todays piece is a 16 x 20" canvas
Base shade is a misting house paint in a very pale icy blue. Consistency of a slight mound that disappears after a second or two when drizzled. I mixed this with a big splash of Derivan Matisse Polymer Gloss Varnish, GAC 800 and water.
Colours:
Paynes Grey by Jo Sonja (mixed with Floetrol)
Quinacridone Magenta by Liquitex (with Floetrol)
Mango (pigment) by This Little Piggy #TLP (mixed with Sheleeart E-Course pouring medium
Metallic Gold by Mont Marte with Floetrol
Amsterdam Turquoise Green with Floetrol
Daintree by Holcroft Professional with Floetrol
Pebeo Iridescent Copper and Floetrol
Consistency is a mound that lasts a few seconds after drizzling into a cup.
Swipe colour is Amsterdam Oxide Black and Floetrol and the same consistency as colours
No silicone added to any of my paints.
My lazy susan is glass and 20'' which was purchased from Coles supermarket, they can also be sourced from variety/dollar stores. The heavier the spinner, the easier it will spin.

Beautiful. Very organic. I agree with the ‘butterfly cocoon’ comment. I can see it being an alien life form too! A very beautiful one! 🤗🙏🙏🙏
Thank you very much Sue 😊❤️
Alot of us do pouring paint, I know there is "no rules" but it seems here there is A lot of stuff (mediums, glosses, formulas) that make it nicer, so basically, the more money u have to spend on products, the better the outcome.
Lovely!!
Thank you Brenda! 😀❤️
Brilliant!

I've only just found your art channel and I can't wait to see more of your work, your art is stunning and beautiful (do you mind me asking where in England you're from? I live in Milton Keynes)
Hi Emma, thank you so much 😊 💖 I'm from in between Birmingham and Worcester, now living in Australia
Love it! Gorgeous! :-)
Thanks so much Maureen 😊 ❤️
I'm all for heavy handed as minimilistic is not my favourite thing. And nor is spelling. It has a sumptuous Persian quality, with a snake at the top. I can see the hat too, with a Mr Punch face in profile beneath. Maybe your subconscious knows what to grab for the best results. A real masterpiece. PS - you stay safe too.
Thank you very much Anna! 😁❤️ I love how we all see something different in our art 😀
I don't understand why there was a grey-blue colored base with paint in middle at first, did it do anything for the outcome? It is so beautiful & cool, but what would if any, would people put in the white negative spaces??
I explain that in the video I was pouring over a failed pour 🙂
Sorry I'm unsure what you mean about what people would put in the negative space?
Once again, gorgeous colors! I too really loved the design at 5:45 in your video -- where you said there was too much paint. So, how much is too much? What happens if you let it dry with too much paint on the canvas? I haven't tried it yet (I'm collecting paint and tools), and would like to avoid these pitfalls. Thank you so much. Gail
Thank you Gail 😀❤ If when you tilt the paint is still moving freely - that's too much left on the surface. If you leave it too thick it will crack upon drying, the top forms a skin and the underneath can still move hence it cracks - often deep ones that spoil your art. It's very much trial and error when you start pouring, practice on tiles, cheap canvases or pieces of MDF to start off.
@@NikiDArt Thank you again, Niki. This is all very helpful. Gail
Hi Niki, did you say you use liquidtex for your beautiful cells . Your style is awesome love watching you, do you use the art boards mainly…..
Thank you Gilly 😃 💙 I use Australian floetrol and acrylic paint to create cells and lacing. If you head to the description box everything is listed there. I never use canvas boards though as they warp due to only being cardboard, I occasionally use wood but this particular one is a normal stretched canvas on a frame.
This is just amazing to watch! I really really love your work! I am a beginner on painting and your videos inspire me. I do miss more info on what the creative process is about. Why do you spin instead of tilt? Why is there too much paint on the surface, how can you tell?
Anyway; I enjoy watching your art emerge! Thank you for sharing!
Thank you 😊 💜 Spinning is just another kind of technique. You can tell there's too much paint if your design is moving around too easily
Love it! What mix do you use for the pillow?
Please.
Thank you Kim! 😊 💖 I actually change it around depending on how I'm feeling 😂 I list all recipes in the drop down description box in each video (sorry I'm answering this from a notification so unsure which video it actually is hence can't give more info) 🙂
They keep getting better and better. Cell definition and colour choice are brilliant. May I ask how much Floetrol you mix with your paints as I’m particularly interested in your consistency.
Thank you so much Karen 😊❤️
I'm sorry I never measure anything, I try to show the consistency which is that it leaves a small mound when drizzled into a cup, which lasts a good few seconds before disappearing
That helps heaps - the biggest problem I’ve found is the weather changing the consistency of my mixed paints so I think I may have to mix them a little thicker.
I just love your work. I was wondering, do you use Australian Floetrol or US. Thanks so much. xx
Thank you Jane 😊❤️ Australian is the only one I can get access to here ☺️
Very nice, what is your base paint?
Thank you 😊 ❤️ All my paints and everything I have used are listed in the description box of the video. Without going to look in the description box I can't remember as this was so long ago
How do you know if you have too much paint on the canvas?
When you tilt the canvas and the paint still moves very freely, if left like that it will more than likely crack
Is it typical to see the canvas grain or texture?
I've just rewatched and can't see any texture or grain? The canvas is smooth, all you can see is the mica from the pigments and the metallics throwing off light in the close ups 🙂
@@NikiDArt
Hi,
When I'm done and the light catches it, I can see the texture of the canvas covered by paint. Too thin paint?
Beautiful
Thank you Claudia 😊 ❤️
