The other day I saw an "eco smart garden", which was a pot with a light over it for growing herbs in the kitchen. I struggle to imagine a more ecologically unfriendly way of growing herbs.
There’s worse ways - check out how most vegetables are being grown, not just artificial light but also creating CO2 which is pumped into wintergarden type of spaces to make it all grow quicker, more steadier and bigger..

This one requires less water and space.
For the electricity, it should be doable with solar power.
Of course this is not the only solution, this one is more suitable for area with less space such as Singapore.

It’s crazy how Uk is blended with greenwashing. I am from Italy and I am used to use organic and real eco friendly products for my hair care. When I arrived in Uk I wasted so much time and energy to find real eco friendly products. It’s a shame to make fun of the consumers like that

I’m a Gen Z I buy things that cheap and has good quality. I don’t really have the luxury to care whether a company is eco friendly.

Circular economy is a nessisary future, we have to do what we can to recycle whatever possible and lengthen the lifetime of our products. With this we can generate sooo much more in the long run, enough to be able to ensure that our ressources are spent optimally, efficient and cleanly. I have just half a dozen pair of jeans, half a dozen Uniqlo sweatshirts from Tokyo, half a dozen pair of Adidas socks,a Adidas floater and a pair of Adidas shoes, along with few Kurtis.I haven’t purchased a single piece of clothing since 2019, that’s sustainable me. My clothes are dreadfully old,durable,comfortable and very fashionable .

It’s a personal choice, I was working for a NGO which did not have a strict dress code ,and I was somebody who dressed casual, am totally against formal,stuffy clothing that’s unsuitable for the climatic condition we live ,and to get caught up in the name of fashion we are polluting the planet by installing AC’s ,to adhere to some clothing that’s totally alien to the weather and climate you reside and releasing huge amounts of greenhouse gases,increasing carbon emissions and global warming.

“Sustainable” does have a definition. It is a poor definition, but better than nothing, located in the National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF).

I work in retail and seen first hand how brands have a just 1 or 2 % of “green” products/materials and tout “major” overhauls…feel ashamed

I struggle to analyse any figures on the environment as neither side are telling the full truth......Everybody has an element of commercialism involved.
It is very urgent thing to tackle climate change, I can teriibly feel the effect of it, i am living in the southern part of kerala, India, the climatic pattern is changed very badly and too much hot on the beginning of summer season also water level is decreasing so fastly, I don't kw what will be the temp while on mid... So sad
It could only be tackled by reducing population and cutting out industries.

If you are referring to greenwashing itself, is sadly not new, it has been an issue for a long time now, before Covid. The term was coined during the 80's, and likely was an issue before then.

I Never understood fashion. I wear cloths until their falling apart I think I even have some shirts from the early 2000's.
On the other side Jeans never seem to last more than 2-3 years, and once socks have been washed a few times.they become so fragile to every day use.
I did suspect some of the Ethical and Eco labels were bunk.

The most logical, easiest and viable solution is to combat green washing is tax more. With gov starved for cash and the consumers wanting to help, everybody wins in the long run. Also the money can be reinvested back for more solutions or more recycling centers or more cash back to those willing to recycle.
Perhaps we may also look for cheaper packaging like thinner plastics. I've seen bottled water with thinner bottles and they seem to function adequate especially for smaller portions but I've also seen them in cheaper brands. If they are not going to stay long on the shelves like what is happening now perhaps a more economical packaging is ideal. Sometimes small plastic bottles can be replaced with sachets that can stand. The consumer must pay a little more attention and care to the items they buy, always planning for worst situations always costs more. A little more food and a little less packaging can be good.
