The only reason why Cody may loose momentum after mania is due to a lack of proactivity on the creative teams part, they must have known they would have a void to fill following The Rock and Reigns departure. Cody is the most versatile guy on the roster, he has a great intro, is great in ring performer and may not have the sharp wit of some but he makes up for that with his eye straight down the camera lens passion for the business. All the skill and appreciation of the fans that Brett Hart always had but far more charismatic.

I don't believe that about Cody for a second. Roman took a solid 6-7 months into his title reign to stop being heavily boo'd and they still kept the title on him for 3 years after. If they screw Cody out of his title reign, that just shows clear favouritism and that they got Cody back just to embarrass him. It was in Cody's contract that he gets a world championship, if they scam him out of it, that'll prevent anyone else from taking the same deal.

I'm not the biggest Cody Rhodes fan, and have always been a fan of Roman, but It's been like two weeks, and he has not even had a real feud with anyone, other than the Rock who isn't even here anymore. As much as I love the Rock, you're telling me that they want to put the title on him over a full time fighting champion. You mind as well have made a storyline for Cody to fight The Final Boss sooner than later. Just let the guy defend the title a few times, so he doesn't look like a paper champ and is still a strong contender for the title in when he losses it. What Cody need is a good heel challenge while the Rock and Roman take their time away. Solo immediately comes to mind, with his bloodline split story, he would try to take the title, so that he can show progress over taking over the bloodline. He's a great heel right now, has someone in his corner to help him win some matches, and if he were to win a title there's a storyline there for him and Roman, with Roman having his eyes on the title, all while having a bloodline fued. But he won't win, Cody will, and that strengthens his character and still puts him over as face of the company.

Hmmmm. I don't think it's a good idea to have Cody vacate the title. They already vacated the Women's World title. But I think it's clear that Cody won't have that buzz on him after finishing the story. Cody basically doesn't have anything to follow up after his story with finishing the story, and can only take up challengers, which can get a bit bland after time. The only small feud he has is with the Rock, which can be Cool as an one off match. I don't really see any storyline going in with Cody right now, that will have enough substance to keep people interested in him as Champion. Unless WWE figure something out for him. Somehow Cody fuels people up more when he's the underdog having to battle his way to the top, rather than being there. So I won't be surprised if he loses the title by the end of the year.

I think that would be a huge mistake on management's part. The only fans that stopped caring after he won weren't his fans. He has scores of fans that want to see a decent title run. I'm not saying 3.5 years like Roman but if it's not 6 months ATLEAST I think that's a bad move. I think he should have a Rollins length run at minimum (my opinion) and making a another part time champ out of the rock isn't fair to the fans. They want a champ that goes out and defends that title, who wrestles weekly. Don't have to defend weekly but only working at max 6mon out of the year would literally be a slap in the face to the audience. Also he doesn't need the rock to have fans watching. I read a few comments already. And my opinion os the same. Best thing WWE can do is have AJ Styles Vs. Cody Rhodes for Backlash I think it is. It'll actually be good if The Rock doesn't show back up till Summerslam or even Wrestlemania 41 if things are going deccent by then. I don't believe Cody should lose the title anytime soon unless they intend for him to pick it back up soon after that. For example if he lost the title at Summerslam to The Rock, Wrestlemania would be too long for him not to take it back. Even if they went crazy and gave Cody a 3rd Royal Rumble victory it would be very difficult to accept it for the fans which is who makes or breaks WWE

I said after the conclusion of the WrestleMania main event I'd never criticize WWE creative again but if this petty BS happens I think I need to seriously reconsider my being a fan of WWE, Cody's story is that of a classic underdog becoming a success & his being completely over with the fan's right now is all WWE executives need to worry about f*ck the ratings

WWE can't continue to make decisions based on the immediate. They have to make decisions based on the long term effects. Even if they got an immediate ratings boost from the Rock returning, they're better off long term with a run from Cody because the WWE needs stars, and can't keep holding onto today's ratings through wrestlers long past their prime. That would be a HUGE mistake.

We all knew this was coming because Cody’s story was more over than Cody was and The Rock elevate that story. Definitely agree with the premise of Cody being stale etc but WWE will not take the title of Cody until Summerslam, Cody still is top merch seller and children and women love him and that wont change now diehards might turn on him. So I honestly blame HHH and WWE for not having a plan what to do with Cody once the story is finished and please stop having him on both shows that doesn’t help because he saids the same stuff. I wouldn’t give up on Cody this was a 3 year journey since he defeated Seth at WM38 the biggest issue is not The Rock and Roman not being on TV its that WWE have no heels to work Cody. AJ is great but isn’t the heel needed right now. I would have Randy Orton turn heel punt the shit out of Cody then they could start a feud until Summerslam where I would have a 3 way Cody vs The Rock vs Roman where now there’s 2 bloodline fractions involved one lead by The Rock and the other Roman.
I would have Rock win the title then have Cody win it back by Roman causing Rock to lose.
They knew rock had movies to do so they’d be walking right into yet another less than part time champ. Also, if they are doubting him now…. What would their plan have been after SS?

Yeah im not surprised by that because i did hear that John Cena said in a interview that its hard for him to believe that Vince McMahon would even do those crazy things so im thinking John Cena has to really see if Vince McMahon is Guilty and im thinking The Rock feels the same way probably so we will see what happens next with that in the future and what The Rock & John Cena will decide to do next with that also too hopefully by then so we will see once it happens that way
