Richtoffen originally started off as a cavalryman on the Eastern front at the beginning of the war until Germany started looking for more pilots in its air force
Richthofen knew he would be taken off active service and he didn't want to be grounded, holding moral speeches and never be able to fly again, and when he saw his brother being attacked by the Sophwith Camel he disdained his own rule, to not leave the group. Probably the bullet in his head inflicted in his actions, and in the end he just wanted to die a soldiers death. His last word can refer to himself, that his spirit was kaputt, broken.
Despite what the the legend says Ricthtoffen got most of his kills in an Albatross not the Fokker triplane. And it is was pretty good possibility of suffering from some undiagnosed brain damage that's find it hard to believe that somebody who is a successful as he was just happened to get Target fixation and drift Behind Enemy Lines. They're still not a hundred percent sure who actually killed him because the Australians on the ground was probably the one that shot him since the bullet Came From The Bottom under his armpit and went out the left side but they're still not a hundred percent certain who was the one that actually killed him
So you know the story. Now why don't you watch a live video from the concert in Berlin for Red Baron :-) Joakim and the audience are great there! SABATON - The Red Baron (Live - The Great Tour - Berlin)
