Big Jack horner stole many MANY artifacts, so countless massive theft/grand larceny charges, also stealing Excalibur would legally count as usurping the throne as it was meant to be pulled out of the stone by the rightful future king, but in this timeline, it'll likely never happen. also the 52+ unicorn horns would count as poaching sacred and endangered creatures (even though some could argue that unicorns can be reborn, but BJH likely ensured they can't be im sure).

Personally, I don't see Death as a villain, though he is established as the main villain in the movie. He's literally an immortal concept if not deity, and the reason he exists is to escort those that lost their lives to the afterlife. He does make some really great points as to why Puss deserves to die again, however it does seem a little biased and unjustified.

Then what was the first encounter with Puss?
      Puss attacked first?
Death spared his live multiple times.
And he reminded him to value and respect live.
Death also respected the "cats have 9 lives" rule even though he clearly didn't like it.
If being Death would be a job, then him "cheating" would be a work rule violation and probably result in a warning xD
He also spared Puss during every encounter and even gave him a chance to defend himself.
      So stalking, and rule violation?
You could try to argue assault for the last fight, but it was Puss who accepted it so i would not count it.

@@andylaw3222 You cannot die of death. This is against his rules. And this isn’t simply not doing his job, this is attempted murder. You want to apply the rules of supernatural forces like death to him? Fine. In Christian and Muslim tradition, Angels who defy G-d can be cast out of heaven and exiled to Hell. (It’s more complicated in Jewish tradition.) So by breaking the rules of being Death in attempting to take someone’s life whose time would not yet come he would lose the position of being Death and be sent to Hell. That’s what happens when you apply the rules of his job here.

5:25, at least you’re acknowledging that he is a villain. A lot of people like to pretend he’s just doing his job as The Grim Reaper, even though he’s obviously not. You can’t die of death itself and Puss wasn’t dying of anything. He wasn’t doing his duty by claiming Puss’s soul when Puss’s life had come to an end, he was trying to kill Puss himself. (And it wasn’t to teach Puss to value life. If it were, then he wouldn’t have gotten angry when Puss learned his lesson.) He is (most definitely) a villain.

@@andylaw3222 1. Don't really know what you are talking about, my guess is the first bar fight fight? Because Death just appears out of nowhere and starts acting weird with Puss, and even then Puss wasn't with his guard up, he just thought he was a crazy fanboy or something, then Death just declares "i am here to kill you" and just them Puss becomes aggressive because you know, possible bounty hunter trying to kill you, and the only reason he doesn't attack Puss in this fight is because he knows Puss isn't capable of winning, he just toying with him.
      2. Death can teleport anytime he wants, that's correct, but the reason he doesn't do that is because he loves the smell of fear, he is stalking Puss to sabour every last drop of dread from the legend because he insulted him, and in the final battle have not Puss pull out gatito blade, he would have died, if he was just teaching him a lesson he would not go for a fatal blow on his head, that's not really merciful, and only stops when Puss is not afraid, making it not fun anymore when he noticed that Puss changed, he was visibly and verbally angry for the fact that he did not get the chance to kill him because he played too much with his food.

Even though he begins trying to kill Puss before his last life runs its course (which is 2nd degree attempted murder), he had reasons because he was PISSED about how Puss wrecklessly wasted all 8 of his previous lives (still not good justification for attempted murder). First one is not trespassing. It is home invasion, assault, and false imprisonment.
When they broke into Jacks building would be burglary as they intended to commit a crime by doing so.
Hitting Puss isn’t assault, it was self defense, Puss is a dangerous outlaw.
Hitting a beaker man wouldn’t really be assault since they were all fighting there. Hitting Kitty can count as assault but she is also dangerous and they were all still fighting.
The map never belonged to Kitty so it isn’t grand larceny, no one here owns the map.
The map wasn’t shown to be owned by anyone previously, it really wouldn’t be grand larceny. He also would be charged with being an accomplice to murder.
Though of the map did belong to someone, it would count as conspiracy, grand larceny, and accomplish to murder.
The baby unicorn horn thing is character evidence which would be too admissible in court, it could be argued he acquired them through hunting season or bought them from another person.
Puss and Kitty did technically steal from him, it can be argued he was trying to get his property back, they are also 2 dangerous outlaws who broke into his shop.
Another case of character evidence, he didn’t murder them, you can’t really prove he used them as pawns either in a court. They were being attacked by dangerous plants and there was nothing he could reasonably do want the moment. He can be charged with negligence and reckless endangerment.
He would also be charged with intimidation as he held Perito in 🏹 point.
Wouldn’t be second degree, it would criminal negligence and/or manslaughter.
Using the bakers as a bridge would count as first degree murder, it can also be argued that the bakers willingly chose to do it.
Him hitting the cricket isn’t assault as the cricket was on him with outs his consent.
Him almost killing the bear isn’t assault as Baby assaulted him, Baby threatened physical harm and possibly sexual assault in him. It was lucky self defense from a legal standpoint.
Death can technically be considered a bounty hunter here by law, he was wanted so following him or trying to kill him wouldn’t be illegal as he has “wanted dead or alive” posters everywhere.
Death admitted he wasn’t a bounty hunter and was in fact, Death, his job is to deal with the living, not the dead so what he is doing is illegal, though I don’t think the law has a jurisdiction in Death. So they can’t do anything about it.
The giant has been dead so it doesn’t count as trespassing since no one owns it, even if they did, it would count as burglary.
Stealing the little chick really wouldn’t count as grander larceny as no one owns it, it can count as child abduction though.
It would more accurately be domestic terrorism charge.
Jack and Jill really can’t be charged with dangerous mis use of firearms as Puss broke into their abode and he is a dangerous criminal so killing him wouldn’t be a crime as he is wanted dead or alive.
Puss and Kity did tie up both Jill and her brother so what she did can count as self defense and also lawful imprisonment.
What they did to Puss would count as assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

Death isn't doing his job though. He is haunting Puss, in a for no reason, other than his own interests. Going after Puss would all count as crimes, as he is not doing his job. It's breaking all the rules. Death can only take people who are already dead. Puss isn't dead. He is alive, but, Death thinks Puss was selfish, and arrogant.
