Bastard son of Carlos Santana plays guitar just like his Daddy! Can't get off the streets! 9/10/19

  • Back in 1969, my Mom and Dad went on a cruise to Florida. They met Carlos Santana's band and took pictures with them. Mom, as usual, took the meaning of 'vacation' too literally and came home with a surprise. Dad told me later he always wondered about the smell of weed on her clothes. 9 months later, I was born. The mustache on a newborn should have been a tip off, but the doctor quickly shaved it before my father could get suspicious. When it grew back a week later, Mom blamed it on too much hot sauce during pregnancy. I grew up with a passion for guitars and wah pedals. I was able to speak Spanish fluently without having learned it. When I was 21, Mom showed me a photo from their cruise vacation and told me the truth. At first, I was outraged. I shaved my mustache, sold my sombreros, and smashed all my Santana albums that she had been giving me as gifts. After years of therapy for my mysterious addiction to cannabis, I wrote to my real Dad asking if I could join his band or even do a guest solo, but he never wrote back.
Today, I play the streets, playing the only style I know, wondering what could have been if Mom had just left my fake Dad and became a groupie. Oh, the stories we could have told! Cest la vie.

It’s probably because they feel that if they stop and enjoy it, they’ll have to tip or end up looking like cheapskates if they don’t, so they deprive themselves the luxury of hearing something wonderful. It’s a lose lose situation. I could listen to that for hours.

Yes! Quite amazing playing. And also a wonder why there is not a crowd of people gathering to watch, listen and LEARN! More often than not TALENT is its own reward but an artist like this deserves the appreciation and RESPECT of others. Its embarrassing as a society to see so many ignore GENIUS!

I keep comin back...so I had to subscribe mate! I was adopted out as a baby in the early 60’s. I’ve connected with my biological family some years ago after almost 50 years. I knew from dot from my REAL(adoptive parents) about my other family. I was very fortunate to have 2 great families! The downside is they can all draw/paint exceptionally well & I struggle to stay within the lines!🤣 You have a gift my friend. Cheers & thanks from “Down Under”. 🇦🇺😎👍🏼

Vancover, too busy pace people to stop smell the flowers or your beautiful music.
1978 Carlos Santana. played at my town in Beautiful Santa Barbara CA ,our outdoor county bowl nestled in the riviera overlooking a moonlit ocean view also. What a concert, and to hear you play Santanas music, Wow !!! Hope your surgery is healing well, I have some hige scars on my body also. You need to move here to Santa Barbara and be close to Los Angeles to be appreciated.
Keep up the beautiful work you do

I think he was in the end. But for many years my parents didn’t think much of me because I didn’t do the back breaking work they did. They thought I was lazy. no concept of creativity. old German immigrant mentality. heck, my own brother still thinks I’m a total loser because I play on the street and don’t own a house.
