Young Sheldon Season 5 Episode 15
Young Sheldon is an American comedy television series on CBS created by Chuck Lorre and Steven Molaro. The series is a spin-off prequel to The Big Bang Theory and begins with the character Sheldon Cooper at the age of nine, living with his family in East Texas and going to high school. Iain Armitage stars as young Sheldon, alongside Zoe Perry, Lance Barber, Montana Jordan, Raegan Revord, and Annie Potts. Jim Parsons, who portrays the adult Sheldon Cooper on The Big Bang Theory, narrates the series and serves as an executive producer.
Apparently there was recently a tweet from a fan saying how much she enjoyed Missy and George's relationship, and how everyone would be destroyed by Missy's reaction to his death, and Raegan Revord responded by saying that she herself is already destroyed, even though it hasn't even happened yet.
Good point that Raegan made because in Young Sheldon she seems level headed and certainly not headed for being cynical and separated from her husband while pregnant with her second child (she does end up with four, however. Reconciliation? New husband?)
@@gmartinz01 Presumably new husband. She seemed quite content about her marriage ending (unlike Mary, who seemed to be in bitter denial about it). Sheldon did say that she did end up with a loving family and friends. The thing is, if it's Raj, then on the one hand, it will be nice to know that they both ended up happy, but on the other hand, it will also be kind of frustrating that they didn't show that on the main show.
Wow
She probably would be the most gutted of the three as sheldon is much closer to Mary and Georgie, while still probably closer to his dad was probably a lot less attached than Missy because she obviously hasn’t had the easier life of the two in terms of relationships and her loneliness
bump
Its so sad to realize that in just a few short years George Sr. would suddenly die, and the memory of 'daddy daughter dates' and 'secret driving lessons' would be all Missy has left of her father.
How do you know? There is still plenty of time before TBBT starts and goesrges cheating could just make george "dead" to Sheldon and maybe Mary. Eventually he has to die, but they can stretch the storyline out a bit.
@@tonyp7779It was said that George Sr died while Sheldon was still at the University
My daughter lost her dad at age 9. She only remembers him in pictures. We do talk about him, his mom and his brother ( they passed away 15 months apart from cancer, her uncle in October of '03, grandma in February of 04, and her dad in January of 05) he missed so many milestones. Our son promised to walk her down the isle when she got married, he was 13 at the time. In 2014, he kept his promise and walked her down the isle.
My late husband would be a proud grandpa, our son has a daughter and son. Our daughter got 2 degrees and 2 minors in her 4 years of college. He would be proud of both of them
I gotta give George credit. He's trying really hard to have some quality time.
big bang theory: george was an idiot only caring about himself
young Sheldon: a father struggling to find common ground with three very different kids with a crazy wife
it's only a guess but I think this might change in the following season(s).
We know that George will die in about 2 years and the closer (sexual) relationship with whatever woman (might be Brenda, but who knows) did not take place yet. From big bang theory we only know the views Sheldon and Mary had on George, the two person who most likely knew (or at least assumed) about this fact. And it may be sad, but I think it's realistic if you remember a person the way you knew her in this last time before her death especially if something this drastic happened
Crazy wife🤣🤣🤣 lmao!
Mary is not crazy. She is just an emotionally insecure woman.
If you pay attention to Sheldon's narration, he increasingly acknowledges the good things his father did, the farther into the story we go.
@@ianandersen265 she is pretty crazy, yes she is caring....but clearly paies more attention to sheldon over georgie and missie, and makes rash calls in the spur of the moment
But in the big bang theory its all from sheldons point of view and his view could of changed with what happens after these season
Being a teenager is not easy. This episode reminded me of my daughter and her relationship with me. When she first started talking she started calling me Dada, and I was dada from then on. However, when she was in middle school, I was picking her up from soccer practice one day and she addressed me as Dad, in front of her friends. I understood she did not want to be seen a little girl in front of her peers by calling me dada. A couple of days later we had the similar situation when she called me dad. When we got home I told her I wanted to talk to her about how to address me in front of her friends. I told her that no matter how she became, she would always be my little girl and that hearing her calling me dada, to me it sounded like "you are my dad, and I love you" and that I never get tired of hearing that. I told her I had no problem with her calling me dad in front of her friends but that I preferred her calling me dada at least at home. A few days later, picking her up from soccer practice again, she received me with a "Hi Dada!" in front of her friends and never looked back.
There's nothing better than being honest about your feelings and allowing others to be honest about theirs.
That is awesome. I had 4 Daughters I divorce their dad when they were around six and under I only had three at the time. The other one came seven years later. My husband was a drunk and extremely abusive and I got an education and left him. For the next 38 years they don't get a birthday card forget Christmas not one cent of Child Support I wouldn't even have stopped him if he wanted to spend time with them he just disappeared and showed up over 30 years later. I am so hurt and angry because he's told her lies and she has a relationship with him now and told me well I don't have the same issues with Dad like I did with you. And I said that's because he wasn't there for you to get an issue with. It doesn't matter I'm out of her life and it's all about him I went to the hardships I went through everything even my grand babies being born. For him to just step back in and be dad is awful. Oh shit that's not why I even commented on here except to say I never remarried and would not bring a man to live in my home with my children there until they were grown. I did not have a father role model and neither did they. I think little girls need their daddy more than little boys do. From their father they learn how to be treated by a man. If they have a father that's protective and treats them with love and respect that's what they'll look for. They had no role model for this and neither did I. Yeah they all got divorce I didn't know how to teach him what a normal relationship was and they've carried the problems into their forties. If Only They had had a role model for how a man treats a woman. Always in my surroundings rarely have I seen a healthy relationship with Father's. I can't stress enough the importance of a daughter needing her dad. Good job dad
Beautiful
@@pamelameadows9717 I really feel your pain and agree with you on the significance of a male role model in the life of a little girl. But in the end we, both, mothers and fathers, show our kids how we treat each other as a couple and how we treat people in general, how we deal with disagreements and how we deal with expectations. I hope your relationship with your kids can be mend at some point.
@@ignaciohidalgo9178 thank you very much. Sometimes I really get going on here when a subject hits close at home.
what happened to paige? (I'm Italian and I used google translate)
George is an amazing father. He truly loves missy.
Unlike the idiot Mary.
One of the best father daughter relationship on tv.
Fr
I love Missy so much. Her relationship with her dad warms my heart. I want to see more of that
😊
HEY LILY ROSE I KNOW U
If Missy doesn’t want to eat there just because her friends are there and they might make fun of her, than I don’t think Missy’ s friends are truly her friend.
Teenagers I've been one I had four children all go through that phase of being embarrassed by their parents. Have you noticed she didn't want to be seen hugging her mom either
not true. these r teenagers, trying to figure out who they r, and how to treat each other. her friends would eventually stop teasing, which they didn't really mean, and b nice again
It's never about that when you are that age. Being on the cusp of woman hood (she's talking about her friends having proper dates, not daddy-dates) and that urgent feeling of wanting to fit in, creates anxiousness about the new world you are entering. She has a right to point that out to her family, and especially since it really does seem that Sheldon is the favourite child. Missy's life is changing, this is just part of it. How she wants to be with her friends is her right and responsibility. It's a part of growing up.
Never had young teenage daughters?
Odd, while I know this is the reputation teens tend to have for dealing with parents, neither of my children (son and daughter) acted ashamed to be with me in my presence. They both now have teen daughters themselves.
Missy is right tho. She’s legit not allowed to do a LOT but he can literally get away with everything. And he got a computer and she got a second hand book with boogers
Re-watch that scene dude before Mary talking about that computer missy just taunted Sheldon on not he having a toy . That's karma
@@shaundsouza671 It's understandable that Missy did that because Sheldon gets everything he wants (probably the first Missy got something and Sheldon nothing, so naturally she would want to flaunt it to Sheldon), be it by being a brat, obnoxious, or being forceful to his parents. (I know how Missy felt that time as I have a sibling too who my parents favor to give more things than me.)
@Christopher Bingham You just really hate Missy even though some of her actions are caused by her parents favoring Sheldon more even if he's in the wrong.
@@shinjoyou Actually it’s only Mary who favors Sheldon more, not George! George loves all three of his kids equally! Why is it that he and Missy have a close and loving relationship, supports Sheldon for his dreams and cares for him and cares for Georgie too?
@@dennisardakis5857 Oh, yes yes! George tries his best to be equal and (probably) most of the time Mary doesn't see it and still favors Sheldon.
Missy is gonna be the breakout surprise from this series. As an actor shes really showing her talent. I hope she gets a good part in a movie soon.
I think she would have done a great job playing the role of young Ellie from the film adaptation of The Last of Us. When I think about this series or game, I always think of her.🤔☺️
@@paulapazos9317She would've been so good as Ellie omg
Let's hope that Missy hugged George so much after this.
Her dad really was the only one ever in her side😢
This reminds me so much of the relationship I had with my own dad.
must be nice
Lovely 🥰
I acted like an asshole just like Missy as well sometimes.😂
And me with my youngest daughter.
You look like a mix of Amy Farah fowler and Anna cramling
I feel horrible thinking about my younger years when I didn't want to be seen with my parents cause it might be embarrassing. Understandable but still heartbreaking.
Same. Every kid goes through it though.
when they showed the beloved lobster scene from an earlier season and Missy said she grew up since then, I remembered all the times my parents tried to organize something fun but which I thought was just lame. I must've broken their heart with that and I feel like an ass
I know the feeling. I really wish I had appreciate it all the ways my parents had tried to do things like this for me and with me when I was growing up. My mom always said that what goes around comes around. Boy, was she right. I've tried to do stuff like that with my kids and get the same grief from my kids and it hurts.
@@teresapappas9773 oh that’s really sad. Hope your kids come to appreciate what you’re doing for them. I’m in my early 20s and I’m still just realizing the incredible job they did/are doing raising not only me but my 4 other siblings as well.

This man deserves justice. He was grossly misrepresented in TBBT, but I guess they didn't know they'd make this spin off
When Reagan said please daddy is that sweet voice it melted his heart, and he was like ok your driving lol.
I have two daughters so when Missy said please daddy and gave him that little innocent look I knew she would be driving his truck. My daughters use to do that same thing with me. My daughters are grown up women in their 30s now, but they will always be my little girls. 💙

Flashback to when my daughter was younger. The angst. Trying to be a good dad, protective, safe, fun and funny. Aware that my precious child is growing. I always wanted her to be able to make her own mistakes, and as a dad, I'd fix them and teach her. Time goes too quickly. 😢

By this point, it's the '90s. The first episode was in 1989.
Yes, it's clear that Young Sheldon and Missy are growing up about of their previous roles; but Sheldon appears to be more noticeably different.
Loved this clip. If I was/will be a Dad, I would want to do this with my son or daughter
"Take your foot off the brake, and GENTLY--"
I have huge respect for dr sturgis taking care of an animal like that I can’t believe people can be so heartless to animals
I'm an uncle, I love my niece very much. Me and my parents have been taking care of her since kinder cuz her mom was working abroad. She's 13 now and even though I'm still 25, this was really relatable. I used to always ask her for hugs and at some point, she won't do it anymore. She's no longer my little niece who runs like hell towards me when she sees me waiting for her outside the school gates. No more of that "how was your day?" moments where she'd explain everything in a funny way. Little girl is now a teenager and it really sucks sometimes tbh.
But I guess now I'm prepared for my future children. We wish they would never grow.
I still remember the shock in grade school when our coach learned most of my friends could drive around six by driving their parents home from work and the bar.
where yall live? round here we start about 8 or 9 but can drive by 10. some not till 12 but there's nothing out here but cows and fields.

Damn. Ngl I'm jealous. I started driving at 15.
@@firstlast-fr1le That's partly because American cars are nearly all automatics. In the UK most cars are what Americans would call a stick shift but what we call a manual. It is a bit different when you have to learn to use the clutch, and our roads are much smaller and busier.

Missy is the best actor in the set. The second is George Sr. Mary is also impeccable for the role she plays. Little George and Billy are no less. Missy outshines all of them.
so funny when she was laughing HAHAHAHA IM DRIVING that cracked me up i just think missy is very cool
I have a theory that Young Sheldon will end on a sad note with the death of George, which I assume will be in season 6 or 7.

Well said George!!!!
Hello keep up the good work
This is a great Dad-Daughter clip. Like George, teaching your daughter to drive is not the big deal. Realizing she's growing-up is the big deal and, somewhat selfishly, a dad just doesn't want to let go of his little girl--no matter hold old she gets.
I remember those days, I was 7 , joy riding to the mountains. Best times
The lesson we all learnt from this clip

I have a daughter myself, with blonde hair and big blue eyes, and I ALWAYS caved in to her requests when she gave me that pleading look and her Mom never let me hear the end of it.
Missy's eyes are always shooting laser that can penetrate a lead plate.

what about those cheddar biscuits, DAD! Hilarous
HAHAH I'M DRIVING lol
"This isn't a joke."
Believe me, Sheldon wasn't joking.
Their excursion began in daylight and ended after sunset. Neither of them checked in with Mary to let her know of there whereabouts before leaving home. That's kind of George taking charge and not having to ask Mary's permission to have fun.
Why on earth should he ask permission!
@@debrabarrett4802 no necessarily permission, how in those days, easy communication is nothing like today. By informing Mary, she would have no need to wonder regarding their whereabouts. Consider that George had experienced several health crisises in the past. Being with Missy in such an event might be need for concern.
In simple terms, spouses tend to touch base, even by leaving a note.

Sheldon can’t even leave people alone and just messes with them just to satisfy his own needs.
Well he did teach Missy how to drive, but by that time it went way out of proportion. She drove to fast because she’s too excited 😊. Sheldon won’t get jealous of her because he doesn’t want to learn how to drive anyway

I waited till my father was a decade in the dirt before I finally told my mother he let me drive at 13. He created “memories that would last a lifetime.”
I remember Georgie did drive twice before he got his DL. One time he stolen Memaw’s car to the hospital to see dad. Since she refuse to take him, he decided to drive himself. He took Sheldon and Missy with them. When she found out about it she rushed after because she’s worried that something bad happened to them. The other time was when Memaw took his grandson Georgie to a bar. She has too much to drink, so he drove her home. By the time he was driving, the cop car followed them. Which is not a good thing because he doesn’t have a license 🪪. So they switch places in the car, because he doesn’t want to get in trouble. Memaw took the fall for it for covering for him and she got arrested

It may not have been legal, but George got to teach his daughter to drive.
My stepdad did the same with me in his truck when I was just a little older.
