    when asking if they paid for that item they are carrying out the door you really have to look at how they are breathing to know for sure.

    Shouldn't it be opposite?

  • @v77scorpio41
    @v77scorpio41 Před 3 lety +5

    It should be the opposite. High context communication should match Direct communication as it’s the most effective in making change, resolving problems and provide clear understanding.
    However indirect communication has little to no benefit besides trying to “appear nice”. Ok... well being direct can also appear nice depending on the speaker. Tho being indirect is never clear, can be easily misunderstood, and doesn’t get to the point. Which are how problems get resolved. There are many cons that emerge from indirect communication than benefits. Maybe only if you’re a COMEDIAN it’s more beneficial.

      It's not that that's not true but High Context means you need a lot of context to understand what they are really saying. Low context means you don't need any context to understand "no". In high context culture if your hearing about a conversation from someone else and asked "what did mom say about the party?" and they say "she said yes." you also have to ask, "how was her face when she said it? how was her poster? what was the tone? did she sigh? did she giggle?" hence the context you need to understand the situation is **high**

      I can tell you listened to the speaker, but didn't really understand. You're making a value judgement based entirely on (what I'll assume) is your own culture.
