I love LNER steamies, make no mistake. If I had any favourites, Mallard in Garter Blue would come first and Scottie in Apple Green would come second. But I'm more of a GWR fan. I'd love to see something of God's Wonderful Railway on your layout very much. The sharp crisp bark and shrill Swindon whistle are music to my ears. Especially if they belong to the likes of City of Truro and Foxcote Manor, that is. It's enough to grab my attention and make me jerk my head up in wonder and excitement, when heard from miles away.
Haven't got too many GWR loco's but I'll see what I can do, thanks for watching,
Stewart
Nice to be able to compare the speeds of these iconic Loco`s Stuart ..and adding the real sound ..well done
Thanks Dave
Things aren't too good here at the moment with rogue Premiers keeping borders locked between the States although there is virtually no virus, (except Victoria) quite a few empty shelves in the supermarket !
Take care , Stewart
@@hollpoll Looks like we are getting a few lockdowns again Stewart , too many marches and Raves ....its now coming back to sting us all ...Dave
Hi Hollpoll
I think your mallard with early crest was from hornby R1064 The Mallard Express set this se came with 4 gresley coaches in carmine and cream oval of track with siding and controller I still have this set hope this helps great layout and video

Like you say, always something different. I’m really enjoying these speed trials! I reckon you’re doing a pretty decent job of filming and operating too. Hugely entertaining and a lovely fleet of these locos - plus the sound bytes too!
I’ve also had a look at Ramsay’s British Model Trains catalogue 8th Edition, and noted that 60022 Mallard in green was on the Hornby Railroad list from 2008-2013 with the code R2784X. Is that the one you’ve shown us here Stewart?
Hello Andrew thanks for the comments mate, pretty sure its not the Railroad version although I could be wrong as I haven't really seen that version up close ! Currently (trying) to film the last episode which contains a surprise loco ! Recently bought off Ebay "Empire of India" from a deceased estate looks like new so I'll include that if it arrives in time, thanks for your support hope all is well

Hi Gents, She's definately not the railroad version.
Railroad versions dont have lamp irons or glazing.
Its definately the full fat version, but her cab doors have come adrift, which is pretty common for these.
