Sorry to be off topic but does someone know of a trick to log back into an instagram account??
I was stupid lost the login password. I would love any assistance you can give me
@Kayden Trace Instablaster =)
YOU NAILED THAT
Really like that it’s not black inside. That’s always tough to find things in my current black bag. Thanks for sharing.
Nice kit. I love the "off-body" concept. Tear-away IFAK's are something I'm moving to.
This is a great review, I don't need something this intense, but I watched through the whole video! You had good examples of how much can go in there and the different variations
Hello sir! I retired as an Independent Duty Medical Technician (IDMT) from the Air Force thirty-one years ago and the advances made in gear have been phenomenal. I wish I had this backpack then instead of that cumbersome fold out black box that was great on the scene. However, it was a pain in the ass carrying it especially if you had to continue assisting the patient in transport to the ambulance (or "Cracker Box" out in the field). Last Line of Defense (LLOD) featured this bag in one of his videos and it piqued my interest; you have me sold on buying one, mainly to set up a primary first aid kit as I am the most trained of our overland group. That SAM Splint would be a great addition to my kit. Your presentation is excellent and congratulations on the You Tube award (100K subs I would guess). I noticed that the Vertx backpack has had a 20 dollar increase in price so I had better get one now. Thank you, sir!
That is a well thought out pack even without the inserts. Out of my price point, and yet like Garand Thumb videos on super expensive firearms I will never own, I watched to the end. :) Have a Merry Christmas. :)
Just found your channel today. I've watched a few videos and they are very well done. Thanks for taking the time to make and share.
Hey Sam, I like the idea of flexi cuffs, but as a LEO in Colorado I'd kind of advise against them. The reason is that taking someone into custody alone is a pretty dangerous situation, and it may result in a fight where you're now forced to use lethal force. I've been to calls where law abiding citizens had a suspect at gunpoint when we showed up. In those instances it was pretty easy to determine what was going on and the law abiding guy didnt get guns pointed at him. I'd say youd be better off just having whoever is calling 911 tell then who YOU are, what you're wearing, and that you'll put your gun away/ down when they get there.
Love the videos dude, be safe. Welcome to CO!
Great advice 🙏 in some countries and I assume some states in America, it's also against the law to restrain someone with cuffs or devices like this, even if it the situation is justified.
Agreed man. Distance is safety. Go hands on and now you’ve put yourself in a bad situation if they decide to fight. Won’t be a good look in court if you end up shooting them
Nice backpack! Enjoyed the contents and the layout.
Amazing video as always. Really considering buying one for myself.
You recommend the "space blanket" for preventing hypothermia, and considering the time of year and cold weather in general, could you make a video on it?
Maybe a hypothermia video in general.
Im an EMT myself in Denmark and we practice the handling/caring of hypothermic patients alot.
But I think it's good knowledge for everybody to see how you use those space blankets!
Meinertsen it’s a Mylar blanket. It reflects body heat. You use it like a regular blanket.
The thing about hypothermia especially in trauma is it doesn't need to be cold outside. It could be 90 degrees Fahrenheit outside and a trauma patient could go hypothermic. The body loses the ability to maintain its own internal temp and starts configuring to the environment around them. So even tho 90 degrees F feels very hot to us that almost 9 degrees F below normal body temp and that can be deadly. Its great to have a space blanket with you year round.
Love that pack and your set up!
Thanks for the review. I bought it 1 month ago. I m a volonteer first responder in Paris, France and the bag is great for my edc. Regards
I’m really liking this bag. I love the canopy green/ tropic mc color. 👍
Just checked that pack on the website, its awesome... gonna start saving for this. Thanx for the review, the info is on point.
@Daddy Trump thank you sir
Thanks a lot very nice ideas and options, now find that backpack in this side of the pond will be interesting
Great review of your pack contents.
Very informational and well done video review. Great work!
Laptop was run over by an ambo XD I feel so bad for you but at the same time, that's hilarious 😂
Really enjoy your content. Merry Christmas.
Thanks for taking the time to go through all very helpful
Excellent ,on point, outstanding vid , great channel
Looks like a good pack. I have a rush 12. Great pack and holds up really well. The cord running through one of my zippers broke though so i might get shoe string or a zip tie or something to run back through the zipper. But other than that its been a great and super durable pack.
Great video! I had no idea vertx had that much customization
Outstanding!! I wish I could use this pack for dslr!! Thanks for sharing!
*Laughs in mirrorless
Brother you make phenomenal videos. You waste no time or words you just get down to brass tax. And your camera work is awesome so we can see from different views exactly what your showing. Keep up the great videos I subscribed and now checking out all your videos
I appreciate it brother!
I keep my edc in a purse, but this pack looks like it would be great for a BOB! I’m in the market for one that’s not black on my black so I can’t find my black accessories lol. Thank you for sharing!
I edc a bowl for soup. Gazpacho has been around since Roman times, at least in its basic form: a cold soup of leftover bread, water, vinegar, garlic and olive oil. Enriched later with New World tomatoes and peppers, it was pounded with massive pestles in a communal bowl to sustain laborers in the fields. Happily, gazpachos have gotten smoother since (gracias, el blender!), though the trick that imparts its velvety texture-soaking the bread in the liquid first-remains fundamental.
Great review! Thank you.
AWESOME intro!
Hi PrepMedic, thanks you new video, Merry Christmas brother and happy new year 2020,good bless you and you family
Merry Christmas to you as well.
Merry Christmas and God bless your family
Great review... thank you!
Great Backpack !
Sam, , Excellent Video! Thank you for endorsing this product, I am sold. This pack looks ideal for Range Training, Tactical Medicine Instruction, EDC, Bike commuting, and Family vehicle, picnic. The price is Not bad overall for a well designed, quality, attractive product. Peace be with you . Liked and Subed. ~COMBAT Doc
Really like the video, thanks for sharing~
U showed me pockets I didn’t know I even had , thx !
I’ll be one of the only practical EDC bags I’ve seen in the past two hours
Great vid. Would love to see how you create a C-collar out of a SAM splint. 👍🏻
Cameron Hunter it is easy
I have the same bag I love it so much
This was great!! Thanks for the work…and wearing headphone to keep the partner relationship strong!
where do you normally take this backpack? like out and around throughout town? im just confused on why someone would need so much gear
Getting a Gamut this week, can’t wait!
I wish the two side panels of the internal compartment were hook and loop to enable the possibility of using the two longer accessory pouches either side and the four smaller ones on the back or one large one when travelling etc. Just gives that extra bit of versatility.
I love the well-thought out features and functionality of this bag, but it may be too compartmentalized for my needs. I tend to adhere to the KISS method and, while even more spendy than the Vertx, I prefer the simplicity of the GORUCK lineup. GR1 for my EDC and GR2 as my "go" or "get home" bag. But I'm not a professionally trained medic, so I don't need (or know how to use) some of the gear you carry.
Backround looks Sick
Good video!! Thank you! 👍🏼
I really like the versatility of this pack.
Would be nice to see a Velcro panel like the mollie panel. That way you could use those Velcro pouches and do quick change for mission/use specific scenarios.
Hi Sam, question: are the side zippered pockets, on the inside, extending up to the water bladder hose opening?
I’m wondering if I can put a small radio with antenna and possibly fun the coms through that water bladder opening.
Apparently it’s possible on the Gamut checkpoint, but I cannot find any info on this for the 2.0.
The checkpoint seems neat, but I think the 2.0 would be better for me. Thank you for the great review!
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from real police talk.
What are some IFACs you would recommend? Thanks and great video.
Very good review
Amen to the Caffeine. BTW, on the Gen 2 pack, how much would you guess it weights fully loaded with your stuff?
I carry a 300BLK PDW AR in my gamut 2.0. Conceals it perfectly.
Do you plan on becoming a LEO in Colorado? I’m a paramedic/cop in Texas. Great video
great i love it
dang good video; thanks
Really awesome setup! What shelving is in the background?
*checks price on this one
my wallet: IGHT IMMA HEAD OUT
😂😂😂yeah, 100% get that. I love everything I use but if I didn’t get some perks I wouldn’t have half what I do.
@@PrepMedic yea. Most of TacMed stuff is very overpriced also...
@@l5mtf393 not at theEMSstore(dot)com
@@RobTaylor1983 i guess so, but im in a F-ING EUROPE. So my geographic location makes things even worse because of astronomical costs of shipping
@@l5mtf393 Well.. I live in Argentina. 50% tax on all imports over U$S 25, and in a few days a new tax of 30% for anything bought in any currency not Arg Peso. So... if something is U$S 100, and you get a U$S 20 shipping, you pay first U$S56 on currency tax, then U$S 37,5 on import tax. Total U$S 213,5 for a somethin U$S 100.. yeah thats more than 100% over the price...
I'm into knives and the best ones for knife fighting in my opinion are the karambits
Sir, what do u use to hold the cobra cuffs in place?
Any concerns about using your pack as a ballistic shield with your trauma gear in the front? Could it become damaged in the unlikely scenario of someone ACTUALLY hitting you with a bullet?
The bag looks pretty small inside for the literage - would be interesting to test how much you can really put in it vs a normal 25L pack. Definitely an interesting review regardless
Is the laptop sleeve velcro capable if its installed in pack. In the middle of no-where paramedic. Ty
Thanks for being honest about getting some items for free. I usually want to know if the item is worth the cost so free reviews don't help me.
What bigger medkit bag is that on the plastic insert towards the end of the video?
15:19! Didnt think about that! I think im sold on this. But how weather resistant is the bag?
its not all that weather resistant out of the box... i "water proofed" mine using the kiwi waterproofing spray and water beads off the panels. i believe the gen 2 packs like what Prepmedic has a closed cell back panel so that shouldn't absorb water but i may be wrong.
Just picked up a DDM4 ® PDW (300 Blackout pistol.) Looking for a bag to carry it in. Will this bag work?
I carry CLIF Blocks in my bag for caffeine. I don't think they really go bad and they don't taste terrible.
Fantastic pac. How's the zippers. Always a concern of mine. Don't wanna be on the side of some mountain when the zipper splits and I shower the group below with equipment from my pac.
That is a sick shelving set up. Where did you get the shelving system?
Hi sam, thank for the info throug your reviews, I got few of your review checked out & I have found this info very usefull, I'm currently located in Perú. Were can I write to you for further questions?
As someone from the uk can someone explain why you would need a gun as part of an edc?? Where are you going??
Hi, congrats for all your gear. I’d only suggest you a pair of working gloves like ringer gloves or mechanix if you are doign some hard work, changing a flat tire, shooting or something else.
This is a great idea that I've never considered before, beyond latex gloves in a medical context. A pair of decent Mechanix gloves and some folded Shop Towels have a whole bunch of uses and wouldn't take up much for space(probably nestle in nicely in his unused pocket behind the water bottle. Thanks, Pablo.
How are you attaching the cobra cuffs to the molle?
Nice Video..How much the old and new vertex bag please?Where you bought both the vertex bags please? What is the brand and flavor of your granola/protein bar please? How much the granola/protein bar please?Where you bought the granola/protein bar please?
Do you consider this to be superior to the RUSH 5.11 line?
Sam I was wondering...Could you do a video on EDC for teens? I can't find anything for teens that want to be prepared even though they don't have big bucks to spend on everything.
while i did buy this buy awhile ago im really sad that its already falling apart on me and i dont carry nearly as much as you do in your bag hopefully yours holds up better then mine did
I'm still looking for a decent NON TACTICAL edc bag which is actually a decent size, and isn't unavailable in my country...
You should check out the executive pro backpack from waterfield designs. They are expensive but they will last you atleast 10-15 years. I had the toughest time finding a bag to hold everything that I need it to because I carry ALOT of stuff & this backpack carries it all plus some. If that one is to big they also have the bolt backpack that is really nice as well. You can look at them on sfbags.com.
@@emfancyy7736 Thanks, I'll check it out. I've also been eyeing up the 511 Covrt18 30L
@@tomgosy I think you'll really like the executive pro.
Iowa! nice.. Indianola watching..
I love that prepmedic patch, they are not available for sale right?
Love this video as I do all of your videos. I've been debating on whether or not to get a 5.11 AMP 24 or the Vertx Gamut lately. Not sure if you could offer any thoughts on the matter. Both look extremely nice with their own pros and cons. Would love to hear what you have to say though
I use the AMP for my work bag and I love it but I don't like it as much for EDC.
What bag did you decide on? I have the Gamut 2.0 and the AMP 24 in my kitchen right now trying to figure out the pros and cons, I'd like to hear what you went with and why. Also how's the bag you went with holding up over the years. Thanks
@@GAPPERnumeroUNO I went with the AMP 24. I used it throughout EMT school and for a while once I got on an ambulance. I am using a messenger bag now.
I keep VitaThinQ mocha peppermints in my car for caffeine while traveling. They taste great and don't force me to stop as often as liquid caffeine.
Chris X try the gum
Sam I understand that you are a reserve deputy sheriff, you are a full time paramedic with a service. Do they allow you to carry on duty or do you lock it up before shift.
I am no longer a reserve deputy, I moved to colorado. I am not permitted to carry on duty.
Oh fucking brilliant definitely going to get a plate for bag 100% he’ll yeah bro !!!!
@prepmedic what kind of molle zip cuff holder is that?
Please do a video on how the f did your pack get runover
I have had my Gamut 2.0 since it was released. My only wish to have is 10-20% volume increase.
If I would like to go into a combined medical and criminal justice field, do you have any suggestions on how to do this? Should I take both medical and criminal justice classes in college or focus on one?
Callsign_k- 9 take criminal justice and then take the medical course that you need for your specialty.
I feel like such an idiot. I’ve been carrying my trauma kit inside the main compartment of my Gamut (and being frustrated that it takes up too much of the available space). I don’t know why it never dawned on me to put it inside the front pouch area. 🤦♂️
It’s a badass backpack that I’ve been super happy with for over a year now. It’s very capable and the organization is on point. I also didn’t know about those little Velcro accessory pockets; I personally don’t have a use for them, but I can see how they would be great for other people.
I agree that the pack is awesome. I think the hidden front panel is my favorite feature because I can put me EDC stuff on it and it doesn't diminish the pack at all.
Quick question here: do you carry all of this just as a daily thing or just for your rides?
Yeah, what does he carry to head down the store for milk?
This is the backpack i carry any time I need to carry a backpack such as to work or on vacation.
@@PrepMedic thank you! I am trying to make an idea of what I would need to carry with me once I start working as an EMT
@@SwissArmyDud You honestly don't need much. Two pens, a note pad, trauma shears, and a snack will be everything you need for your rides. (maybe a stethoscope but most agencies just use the one they carry in their pack)
@@PrepMedic awesome you rock! Thank you very much Happy holidays! And happy anniversary!
I really wish there was a 35-40L version of this pack. I want to be able to carry my gym clothes, lunch, laptop+charger and some groceries and then 25L or the 32L just doesn't satisfy.
They have the backpacking version which is bigger
Is it possible to buy these outside the us?
Greetings From Florence EMT
Can I hv ur opinion on 5.11 Tactical All Hazards Prime?
What’s the brand of saline eye rinse?
You and I carry the same pocket BVM
Kudos [Vertx] for the light color interior.
How about putting some Molle straps inside the pack? Mount them high to keep small stuff in pouches off the bottom. Nice to not have stuff visibly dangling around.
Stop with all the Velcro.
So they actually have an insert that converts the velcro panel with a molle panel.
Bravo 👏 👏 👏 👏 👏
Can you rewiev MERET-products?
