Stop visiting dubious channels.
Thank you for a genuine much needed belly laugh.
I'm going to watch " Indiana Jones and the batcave of spiderman," when it comes out.
Someone once said that Hollywood was stuck on sequels. This proves it.
The only one that legitimately peaked my interest was that Vesper one.
LOL ... I made note to watch one of the ads that came on during it ... Delia's gone
I do want to see Nope though ...
I wish they would just stop making tedious, vapid, and thoroughly unoriginal superhero films, and direct those resources instead toward cultivating some novel and compelling actual sci-fi
They don’t have any resources. Not unless you count millennial Marxist female writers.
If you haven't seen everything everywhere all at once you should. By far my favorite movie of the year and I thought it was novel and original
@@kleitmanj I will definitely be checking that out.
I absolutely hear you. I’ve been hoping someone would make Friday into a movie. Friday is a book by Heinlein. Great stuff, and oh so timely.
There is a large community of comic book lovers, around the world that Hollywood is catering to. I have been collecting comic books for 35 years and love the hobby. Some that I have sold appreciated more than 15% a year over 30 years.

You don't know the difference between Sci fi and fantasy
Yeah, it’s really helpful to get an advance notice that there’s nothing good to look forward to in sci-fi this year.
Gemini project might be ok. Prob not.
Crimes of future looks interesting but is it scifi?
TV and movies are in a dismal state... the top rated shows right now are so beyond garbage it hurts my head
@@rannnoch I love the boys tv series
Because most of it is woke garbage, just like most of TV shows and movies from the last several years. Unwatchable.
@@tama.mascarenhas3775 The Boys is decent yeah, in big part thanks to how woke and dumb all the other shows are that it's competing against. The MESSAGE is strong with these movies this year!!
When are we going to get epic Sci-Fi movies again like "Interstellar" --- "Ex Machina" ---- "The Martian" ----- "Jurassic Park original trilogy" ---- "Contact" etc etc...
... Instead of all these stupid full-on action sci-fi with semi super humans fighting stuff and joking at the same time... AND they always have a 3/10 story.. never anything good.
This doesn't just go out to all new Sci-Fi movies out there, but also all other movies that they show at the Cinema...
Reflects the audience - people are getting "simpler" and shorter attention spans.
Everything Everywhere All At Once - is quite meaningful. Compromise of action, humor and philosophy
@@2000index I actually got it downloaded.. I've read good things about it. But are there any Sci-Fi in it? I keep seeing scenes with just a asian woman being kinda weird tbh.
You know that the first three you mentioned are really recent right? Maybe if you're 10 years old 2014 is a long time ago. Not that I disagree that most movies are uninspired cash-grabs. Personally, I expect to get at most one really interesting movie a year. It's too much to expect it to always be scifi.
Alita: Battle Angel deserves to be on that list.
Considering almost half of these have already come out... this was REALLY the best Hollyweird could do?
Damn...
hollywood is full of corporate idiots who look at $$$ more than originality

Well, The Flash will not be fast enough to escape the police after manipulating and abusing a child.
haha.. Ezra is the biggest asshole in hollywood. That guy makes me pull a face, everytime i see a picture. Literally. They just fired him, for being too difficult to work with... that was their excuse. Not the child grooming apparently.

I hear that POS got fired from the role of Flash.
'Pedo Flash', he touches you child and in a flash he's gone to the next one.
Sad and disgusting 😞
I loved the first avatar movie, thought it was amazing, couldn't wait for the next movie. Then 13 years went by. It's like your dad finally came back after he went to go get milk that one day when you were a kid and now you're an adult and he asks if you want to play catch in the yard. Confused, surprised and filled with a decade and a half of resentment, you're like "yeah sure, I just gotta go get some milk first"
And the milk turned to cheese.
That is a great analogy. I do want to see it.

Most of that isn’t sci-fi at all. The Martian, Contact, Arrival, Bladerunner, THAT’S sci-fi

Their body mass/lung ratio just doesn't suffice to be able to be alive right now. Animals that are still around since the age of the Dino haven't shrunk for no good reason.

Vesper looks cool
Vesper looks like Miyazaki's Nausicaa appeared in a film of David Cronenberg (e.g., eXistenZ or mentioned in the list Crimes of the Future) or, more probably, in Garland's Annihilation. Also, I must noted a strong Stalenhag world's vibe.
I was about to make the very same comment. I am certainly interested.
IKR?? My thoughts exactly, I was like 'wow what a creative take on Nausicaa's story, I'm intrigued'
Nide catch bro. I can defs see that. My take was its about a kind of slime mold, a very mysterious organism that has propertys that baffle scientists everywhere.
I had no idea who Stalenhag was.
His work is amazing! Thanks.
A strange resemblance to No Man's Sky
So after time travel, super power and mutant, now everybody blend multiverse in... honestly, our future is all animated films.
I wonder if Hollywood could make a good movie without special effects, just a great script and a good story. I don't think they can do it.
No, they can't. The independent film makers can, which is why they win the awards but don't cost 200 million.

Vesper
Crimes of the Future
Everything Everywhere All At Once
Project Gemini
Moonshot

It was a great movie. Arguable one of the most inventive this year.
Moonshot is adorable - I kinda loved it.
I counted a whole 3 maybe 4 sci-fi movies with the rest beeing fantasy. Just because something has alliens or takes place in outerspace, doesnt make it sci-fi.

That looks like something entirely new. I'm not sure I'll enjoy it, but I want to see it.

Entirely new ? Not really, it looks like classic Cronenberg stuff, like eXistenZ. With him it's often about strange body mutations (remember The Fly ? Also him) and biological machines.
Eh, I just looked it up : he already made a movie with the same name, from 1970. Although it doesn't seem like it will be a remake.

@@moskito5864 Well, any Sci-Fi lover knows that super hero movies, albeit it tick most of Sci-fi boxes, is not really sci-fi. For over 2 decades, we have super heroes movies every year, with the same story, same ending, same heavy CGI, and no plot. It's getting boring. I wish we had more of Interstellar kind of movies. No1: The Smurfs are back in this hilarious new adventure. :)
Yep…Hollywood is in big trouble.
We need more sci-fi movies like "Alien" and "The Thing" but with the present day effects we generate now.
No. Present day effects are seductive for being cheap and present illusion that everything can be fixed in special effects production phase that allows filmmakers to just NOT THINK things through. In practical effects, every shot had to be planed and props produced over many months. Every little movement is deliberate. In good movies at least.

I have a feeling Avatar 2 will be a flop. James Cameron put so much money into the next 3 movies.
@@asktoseducemiss434 I tend to agree, and disagree, but for a variety of reasons, too numerous to mention. Basically, I see a flop because he's waited too long and we've all done Avatar to death. This makes it feel a bit dated. Plus, the technology to make photorealistic CGI arrived a few years ago. So, it's not as if the visuals will impress more than their aesthetic appeal.
I see a hit because there is a whole new audience to appeal to since the first Avatar. Also, people will watch any crap and think it's good. I can think of dozens of huge box office hits that ultimately have no plot whatsoever, or it's a ridiculous premise. As long as it's all wrapped in a pretty bow, and the CGI-candy is good, they are satisfied, but don't know why. Ignorance is bliss.

Try learning to read. Avatar was Cameron's nod to Princess of Mars by Edgar Rice Burroughs. "Man travels to alien world, meets alien princess, and falls in love." that sound familiar? Of course that story plot was borrowed from ancient stories of people who fell in love with faeries and other supernatural beings. So these modern stories you point out were also stolen from more ancient stories.
