How to run a Deep clean cycle on your Dyson Purifier Humidify+Cool™

- It’s easy to run a Deep clean cycle on your purifier humidifier. Watch the video above or follow the steps below.
Your machine will alert you when a Deep clean cycle is due. Make sure you have 150g of citric acid to hand.
Step 1. Select the Deep clean cycle button to begin. Remove the filter covers and water tank.
Step 2. Remove the evaporator and place it in the water tank (remove gently to avoid spillages).
Step 3. Prepare the cleaning solution. Fill the water tank to halfway with cold water. Add 150 grams of citric acid. Then replace the cap and shake gently until the citric acid has dissolved. Place the evaporator back in the tank and fill to Max level.
Step 4. Replace the cap, secure the clips and wipe with a dry cloth.
Step 5. Return the tank and start the Deep clean cycle. When prompted by the LCD screen, press the Deep clean cycle button. A one-hour countdown will begin.
Step 6. When the Deep clean cycle is complete, remove the tank.
Step 7. Rinse the evaporator and tank with cold water.
Step 8. Fill the tank with cold water, replace the cap and wipe it with a dry cloth.
Step 9. Reinsert the evaporator and water tank. Click both halves of the filter together around the machine. A green tick on the machine's LCD screen indicates components have been replaced correctly.
Your Deep clean cycle is now complete and your machine can keep humidifying hygienically.

CLEAN THE PUMP OUT TOO. Do the deep clean but just know that this is useless unless you clean out the pump and mesh. When these things get dirty they really get dirty.
Horrible interface. If the cycle is accidentally trigged, it can’t be reversed. The acid bath is not enough. You must clean the tank and pump by hand during each refill or a slime will form.

I put the tank back in and started the cycle but the timer stopped by it’s self at after 10 seconds

why don't you show that you need to dry the filter? 😡I did everything as in the video, put the wet filter back and the next day it started to emit a terrible smell that you can't get rid of. I'll have to buy a new filter now😢
Is there anything else I can use to substitute the citric acid?
What's the right step when shortly after the start of the countdown of the cycle, the count-down just stops? For me, at minute 59:33 already....
Had this in 4 machines. Returned to Dyson. I finally got a working one it seems.

I've just started cleaning mine without the "deep clean cycle". Ive come to the conclusion that its just a timer and nothing more. Whether it was intended to be or not. On top of that its missing out the pump and mesh filter that needs to be cleaned out too.
Здравствуйте. Увлажнитель Dyson PH01. При попытке включения режима увлажнения, прибор выключается и загорается символ необходимости глубокой очистки испарителя. Согласно инструкции в процессе очистки, таймер обратного отсчёта через каждые 10 секунд останавливается. После выключения/включения снова останавливается через 10 секунд, и так далее. После окончания очистки и включения режима увлажнения всё повторяется. В режиме без увлажнения, очиститель воздуха работает исправно. В чём причина?
Тоже сейчас морочуюсь. Нет чтобы на дисплее писали пошаговую инструкцию. Одна мистика.
How long do you have to dry the filter ? Or no need to dry it ?

I did mine last week put the filter straight back in… Around a week later got a strange smell coming out of the machine. Filter smells really musty.
I shook mine till there was zero water coming out. I see no need to wait 24 hours

Hello, when I did a deep clean for my Dyson Purifier Humidify+Cool yesterday, I saw some mineral build up in the area that the evaporator sits on. What should I do to remove the mineral build up in the area? Can I do it by myself or I should contact Dyson Center to have them clean it? Thank you! One more question, I found that my Dyson consumed water faster after the deep clean, is it normal? Thank you!
Obviously your unit will function better after cleaning it (also known as "using more water"). And if you are unable to for some reason wipe out the mineral build up in the area that the evaporator sits on then sure waste some gas money and time and drive it on over to the dyson hospital i guess....?
I did everything as shown. The screen shows to start again and repeat from steps 7, 8 and 9. Did it few times. No change. Pls assist. Thank you!

How to cancel this deep clean cycle. I don't use rhr humidifier, it is empty. I accidentally touched the deep clean button and cant get out of it.

Honelty the deep clean cycle is merely a timer. Just clean it whenever you want it to work properly

I haven’t got the deep clean cycle for a couple years since I got it. The only alert I’ve gotten is filter change. Should I do a deep clean cycle?
I would! I do mine like every 6 months. It only takes a little maintenance. People in these comments are a little ridiculous with their complaints.
For some reason my Dyson hasn’t been keeping up on humidity, it’s been on 39% when I left it on auto for weeks . I just had it on 50 and the whole night it ran hard and the humidity was still at 39 never reached 50

Do I need to do this every time it needs water?
No, you won't need to do this every time you refill the water tank. Your Dyson Purifier Humidify+Cool™ will automatically alert you via its LCD screen when a Deep Clean cycle is due. WiFi connected versions will also alert you via the MyDyson™ app. The Deep Clean cycle helps remove any mineral buildup within the machine's water system.
Could I stop the 60 minute cycle a bit sooner? I’m pressed for time

Does this need to be done with the acid if we only use distilled water in the machine?
We still recommend cleaning the machine with the citric acid according to the owners manual!

Did you clean the pump and mesh filter out. The slime must be removed. Dyson would rather you waste your time and bring it to them.

Over-engineered mess. The so-called deep clean does nothing to clean the million or so nooks in the pump assembly, including slime that tends to block the little mesh filter at the bottom of the pump assembly.
Why do you have to do this shit every 3 weeks???
