Love your videos John, great stuff. Brings back some good memories for me when I was on Mark Bergs Fishing Show (season 2) some 10+ years ago now, was up North, but across to the West of you, NT way, Finnis River, but yeah the environment is insane up there, red earth, and the wildlife is fascinating. Got to get up there again.. Also love how you get little Tommy and the whole family involved, great to see.
Go to Weipa every year fishing with, Weipa Fishing Adventures, launched form that boat ramp and catch fish all day for a whole week, the fishing up there is incredible 👌🏽
Enjoying the travels Johnny, can you or have you done do a short video on getting the boat on and off the HiLux. Haven't seen many travelling setups with the whole rig up top!
Nice to see a real organic fishing vid mate.. keeping it down to earth son.. no high end gear just affordable travelling with the fam..living the dream bro..♥️
Loving the videos John! Living vicariously though them and hopefully one day get to live out my own dream of travelling around Australia fishing these amazing spots! Keep frothing mate...
Good to see Tommy so stoked on it. Love his commentary kid is a natural. Definitely shares his old mans passion and excitement for it. Taking notes Johnny mate will be following your tracks a month or so behind.
Hi John, that is great footage of your fishing around Weipa. I am travelling up to the tip in mid July and would you have any information where to fish being Landbased
John did you go to Grandmas Creek while you were in Weipa it’s it’s awesome fishing there and out to the first market it’s an amazing fishing spot loving these videos mate
I've never been so impressed by a man's casting ability. Every video I find myself shaking my head at the accuracy in tight snags. I love the fish catching part but strangely I am more in awe of the cast that started it.
Maaaaate! Those casting skills! Insane. Also thanks for all the tips. I'm just getting into it with my young fella, and yiur helping me out big time. Keep it up legend. I have a feeling your gunna hit the bigtime soon your vids are epic. Cheers enjoy the trip drive safe🤙🤙🤙
Hard to pick the area your in. But try pennyfather river just 80km north of Weipa. Bit of a track to get into but best fishing crabbing you get Don’t need pots in this area crocks destroy them but crabs everywhere if you want to know more get back to me
Do a bit of research on the area is owned by traditional owners has a park wildlife attendant there dose cost to camp on traditional land no water for drinking ect lovely sand dunes with big trees to stay under right on beach edge salt water tidal lagoon leave boat tied up in it watch crocodile slide in and out of lagoon as they move out to feed your camping within meters of the lagoon so sleep on back of Ute or roof top tents. Lots of ppl stay there months at a time. It’s so good of fishing reef out front 1km off main land. So much creek system for Barra jacks cod ect
How gorgeous is he! Every time we talk crabs he reckons Gary would love to know about it. ;) He’s such a little frother and that session kicked him in the right direction like nothing else mate. Seriously. It’s been so cool since.
@@mylurebox awesome mate we're heading up to my hut for school holidays in 2 weeks time Apparently the grunter are starting to show up if you're heading back down the coast let me know
I'm new to lure fishing and have already lost a handful of them on snags at various spots on the Logan and Coomera rivers. I saw a couple of videos on lure retrievers so I went out and picked one up (Asari Lure Aid 125g from BCF). Do you have any advice on how to use it properly, or any other methods for getting a lure unstuck? So far I'm not finding it particularly useful.
Hi Jess. Thanks for your message. I haven’t done videos as yet on lure retrievers but I’ll have to get something together. My suggestion is to hve a tackle back or retriever on heavy cord and bounce it onto the lure to push it off the trees or change angles from above and bounce the weight and chains until it dislodges or hooks up and then pull her off.
Great vid mate. Lotta fun
How good is that! Great family fishing time.

Good stuff mate. Great to see Tommy using his new rod. Where's the van mate? cheers.
How do you get the boat on and off the car?
It’s a Mozzi Boat loader Brad ;) I’ll get a video together in the coming weeks showing how she works. It’s mint!
Awesome thanks. Good idea...less likely to have issues dragging the trailer all that way
Can you send me the bar you were fishing at
what camera do u use???
I use GoPro 7 blacks Jeremy. They’re magic for footage to capture memories like these
I think you might have a tough time keeping your wife out of the boat from now on mate 🤣
relegated from mylurebox presenter to wingman. pending the point of view a demotion or promotion.
Hahaaa. Yep. Outfished every time she’s on board. I’m starting to pay attention to her retrieves now. Hahaa.
