Even if your vehicle is squared away It’s unknown if an emp will take out a battery. Something like a noco gb150 jump starter in an EMP proof bag is cheap insurance. That jump starter can start a large diesel engine with no battery. A guy from AAA told me about how amazing that jump starter is and uses it every day. He’s started many vehicles with stolen batteries including large diesel engines.
If it were me in an older vehicle I’d have the gb150 and a spare alternator in a blackout bag. Some remanufactered alternators have a small electronic board inside unlike the older units. Know what you have and know what you need.
