"حلوة تشاو"/"Ḥilwat Tshaw" is the Palestinian Arabic version of the renowned Italian anti-fascist song "Bella Ciao" (Goodbye, Beautiful). The original song came to be when it was sung during an 1800s farmers' strike in Northern Milan, but it was later repurposed by the anti-fascist partisans of the National Liberation Committee during their struggle against the Nazi German occupiers. Since then, it has became a globally-recognized hymn of resistance. The author of the lyrics for this version, as with the original Italian version, remains unknown.
