Oswald the Lucky Rabbit, also referred to as Oswald the Rabbit, Oswald Rabbit, or Ozzie, was brought to life in 1927 by Walt Disney and Ub Twerks for Universal Pictures. This animated cartoon character graced the screens of theaters from 1927 to 1938, starring in numerous short films. The Walt Disney Studio produced a total of twenty-seven animated Oswald shorts. However, in 1928, Universal gained control over Oswald's character, prompting Disney to create a new character with a striking resemblance to Oswald. This replacement character was none other than Mickey Mouse, who would go on to achieve worldwide fame as one of the most beloved cartoon characters.
