Great interview! I attempted to take my own life at 17 years old and my mother found me. I remember how much she screamed and begged me to stay with her hanggang maka rating kami sa ER. And she didnt sleep for awhile just to watch over me, and I told myself I will try harder and hold on much longer so that she doesnt have to go through that again. For my mom, I am holding on.

I was initially put off by the label “love story” not realizing that the “love story” encompassed the entire Buencamino family, and not just Nonie and Shamaine. Having been away from the 🇵🇭 for more than a decade, I had no idea that they went through so much heartbreak. And props to them for their advocacy. Bravo!

There is so much to learn from your interviews, especially about Sharmaine and Nonies experience regarding their daughters suicide. I was and still am, suffering from depression. Somehow, I picked some pointers from your interview. I was never suicidal but sadness and loneliness come and go. I never see a psychiatrist, never took medication, but I survived. I’m now in my late 70’s, happy some days, sad the others. God is my guiding hand. He helped a lot. Thank you Julius for this interview with Nonie and Sharmaine. ♥️♥️♥️

Naiintindihan ko lahat ng mga nararamdaman ni Julia. I had suicidal thoughts when I was 10, and attempted suicides when I was 18 and 21, self harmed by cutting myself and jumped from floors, seeing shadows in my room. I've no one to share what I went through coz I was abandoned by my parents. Only people in the church and my foster parent who've noticed my cuts and injured back & leg. Prayers does helped! Now, that I am a mother to 2 teenagers, I've been watchful and protective to them. I didn't do what my parents have done. Sometimes depression creeps in but my natural ways to cure 'em are to run to God, reconnecting myself to nature, cutting the carbs in my foods to free myself from confusion, doing intermittent fasting to heal metabolic inflammation, and workout to calm myself. Self talk. Yes, self talk is just like I'm a mother to the little inner self of me that still needs affection and attention. Not just a survivor but I thrive.

I was a talent in a TV commercial with Nonie & Sharmaine in the production maybe 25 yrs ago! It is rare that families are open to this kind of experience, most of the time they hide or deny the truth maybe because of the stigma. Correct me if I'm wrong. Yung gestures nila while having the interview and the way they lean to each other say something about the psychology of human relationship. They share physical and emotional support and I think that's the reason they were able to understand and accept what happened to their daughter, Nonie's overcoming his drug dependence and saving their relationship. May they be an inspiration to other couples who are having challenges in their married life right now.

The last and only time I’ve seen Shamaine on theatre was when I was in college, a play entitled the Lord of Jala-Jala with Pen Medina, and directed by Tony Mabesa. Naiintindihan ko lahat ng mga nararamdaman ni Julia. I had suicidal thoughts when I was 10, and attempted suicides when I was 18 and 21, self harmed by cutting myself and jumped from floors, seeing shadows in my room. I've no one to share what I went through coz I was abandoned by my parents. Only people in the church and my foster parent who've noticed my cuts and injured back & leg. Prayers does helped! Now, that I am a mother to 2 teenagers, I've been watchful and protective to them. I didn't do what my parents have done. Sometimes depression creeps in but my natural ways to cure 'em are to run to God, reconnecting myself to nature, cutting the carbs in my foods to free myself from confusion, doing intermittent fasting to heal metabolic inflammation, and workout to calm myself. Self talk. Yes, self talk is just like I'm a mother to the little inner self of me that still needs affection and attention. Not just a survivor but I thrive.

Walang perpektong relasyon as a couple, palagi talaga hindi nawawala ang pagsubok sa relasyon, pero dahil nga sa tagal na ng pagsasama ung tatag at tibay naroroon na kahit gaano kasaklap ang pagsubok, mahigpit pa rin ang kapit at hindi talaga magpapagupo, ang mga misis din talaga ang nagpapatibay ng katatagan sa isang buhay may-asawa. Pareho nila, 33 years na rin kami since 1990. Sobrang nakakabilib si Mrs. Buencamino.
I was a talent in a TV commercial with Nonie & Sharmaine in the production maybe 25 yrs ago! It is rare that families are open to this kind of experience, most of the time they hide or deny the truth maybe because of the stigma. Making it their advocacy is a proactive way to help others to prevent suicide. I'm sure they are saving alot of lives! Kudos to Nonie & Sharmaine!

Mam ilapit mo po sa psychiatrist anak mo… para magabayan po cya ng tama. Alam kong nahihirapan anak mo makaiwas sa situation na yon.

Correct me if I'm wrong. Yung gestures nila while having the interview and the way they lean to each other say something about the psychology of human relationship. They share physical and emotional support and I think that's the reason they were able to understand and accept what happened to their daughter, Nonie's overcoming his drug dependence and saving their relationship. May they be an inspiration to other couples who are having challenges in their married life right now.

The last and only time I’ve seen Shamaine on theatre was when I was in college, a play entitled the Lord of Jala-Jala with Pen Medina, and directed by Tony Mabesa. They were spectacular, and that was the beginning of my love for theatre. Had I not went abroad, I’d always watch her shows. Thank you for your talents Shamaine and Nonie.
