- The Sebastian Fishing Pier is one of the craziest pier fishing hot spots in the whole country. Pier fishing can be one of the funnest ways to experience fishing. At this pier, dozens of anglers lined up with live shrimp on their hooks eager to catch themselves the BIG one. The waters here are filled with monstrous sized fish just waiting to be caught. Its a true test of MAN VS BEAST.

If you plan on fishing this spot because of this video, you need to understand that there are many unspoken rules of this inlet, and that you need to be respectful of other fishermen. We were there again last Saturday. I took your advice on the shrimp, and we caught 8 Black drum, a blue Fish, a small shark, and a catfish. Most fun I've ever had at Sabastian Inlets pier. Keep up the awesome vids. You and Erin are awesome!

Senko Skipper awe that stinks! You caught a ton of Jack though. Ive only caught one there in the past month...Well just so you know, we were on the south pier, on the right hand side (inlet side) in the shallower end. They were really bighting big time there.

The reason the jack (Crevalle) tastes "funky" is that there's a blooline that runs down along the spine in the filet. Typically, that meat would be filleted and the darker part (bloodline) removed in order to avoid that "funk" that people tend to find unpleasant. The same is true for most mackerels, wahoo, tuna, kingfish, etc.

He might have ran to his family to get a picture, I’ve had to do it on this same pier a few times. I landed a 45 inch snook in the middle of this inlet two weeks ago! This place is epic! I drive 1.5 hours to hit it!
I know this is old, I've fished Sebastian inlet quiet a few times. anyways usually people follow the current when drifting out bait. to avoid tangles with the other anglers.. in the end when you get hooked up and bring the fish onto the pier, you either ask someone to use their ruler or run back to your cart to measure it.

I happened upon your Mexican beach fishing videos, and was watching one, but looked down, and there is was: Sebastian Inlet: craziest pier fishing in America! Superlatives for my family's favorite beach when I was a child! My dad used to fish the jetty, but back then, there wasn't even a concrete pad on top of the riprap. He'd just climb over rocks until he found a good spot, and fish. I hope to do the same, from the now highly-developed jetty-pier, if I get the opportunity to give living there again a try. That incredible surf sounds so beautiful. And you can catch really good fish from there, can't you?

Live shrimp can be found in the grass at high tide in most inland areas. Use a minnow net and start scooping. Good job Senko Skipper.

This is something you will not find in California. Everyone is having so much fun.
Redondo Beach Pier used to be this good, on bonito, halibut, sometimes yellowtail. Occasionally Ocean Beach in San Diego on the same plus bass. Up in Pacifica [San Francisco] it can be like that for salmon and/or stripers at times. At the children's event on Shelter Island Pier [San Diego] this past weekend, it was wide open on mackerel with hundreds caught; and though smaller than the fish being caught in the vid, the kids had a blast.
