As far as I understand, makima should win. I am not convinced that gojo's massive ego acting as a shield against makima's control powers. As far as I understand, makima can control anyone who she thinks is inferior to her. Not to mention, gojo was never an enlightened being. He confused himself into thinking he was. On the other hand, gojo would take W if he casts unlimited void the moment he meets makima. Otherwise, makima easily wins.

Stan lee doesn't know shit nor speak for every writers in existence. Yes He created most of marvel character but the story is being written by different authors now and these authors most of the Time has power scaling and in verse consistency in mind cause if they want to introduce a greater threat to a character for the progression of the Story for example they are writing for Thor they won't just use a previous character that Thor has already beaten like for example base thanos and decide who wins this time nope they know if they do that it wouldn't be consistent for both characters so what they'll do is either amped Thanos by giving him a Power boost or introduce characters that is way more powerful than the previous villan hence they are applying Powerscaling. This is an L statement for the great Stan lee and those who embrace it has no critical thinking for themselves.

I find it weird CSM fans said the "Bang" in the death battle is nerfed. Like, are we forgetting Chainsaw Devil didn't get TORN TO PIECES when he received the "BANG" and instead got sent to the stratosphere? This just means the damage of her "BANG" is dependent on the target's durability, one that Gojo has plus his RCT.

That said we cant really know for sure since Gojo has never been hit by anything of that degree except for Cleave, which adjusts its strength to surpass an opponent's durability. However we really dont know how strong that would make Gojo, for all we know he could be as tough as Goku MUI himself or as fragile as paper and he will still get cut.

But because there are a limited number of japanese citizens they can’t process infinity, so it would overload everyone’s brains. However, as you pointed out, Gojo is a citizen, so his brain would also be used (unless he isn’t effected because he isn’t below makima)

In simple terms, it's because unlimited void is a domain of his own technique. So he is basically immune to it no matter what circumstances they brought in. Makima gets trapped in UV, she transfers the sure hit effect to every japanese citizen until they are all dead. Then Gojo being a japanese citizen himself won't get affected because the attack is made from his own power/cursed energy. This mechanic has been explained/showed recently in jjk chapters.
Even if Gojo was somehow inflicted with his own domain's sure-hit effect. He can use reverse curse technique to continuously heal his brain which he had always been doing ever since he was a teen.

I didn't care about who would win the fight as long as they were a good explanation. But the explanation was bad they arbitrary decided because Makima never faced a certain type of attack she could die from that attack.
They lied too much to make Makima lose. Makima doesn’t have physical limitation to her contract. Makima can't die from Purple.
Then they said unlimited void isn't really an attack. If that's the case then it would affect only makima that make sense, but again unlimited Void doesn't kill curses Gojo kill them once they are inside but the void only paralyze them because of the information overload once they outside the domain curses can heal from the void. Gojo using purple would've been redirected to someone else and she would've lived.
Then they lied again by downplaying Makima finger bang, acting like it was a like normal invisible gun. Makima destroyed Power with one shot and sent Chainsaw into space but for some reason, if Gojo get shot it would be like he was hit by a revolver snub nose.

I find it funny that someone took a character from Chainsaw Man to use in a death battle, considering power scaling in CSM Universe is very vague even when comparing the most powerful devils, since it's not the focus of the story.
Also something worth mentioning is that a devil's power fluctuates depending on the fear its name weighs and its contracts. That in itself is so vague that it becomes impossible to deduce how strong they are, especially when they can snowball in power level in war scenario.
And even when a devil is more powerful than another one, the weaker devil can still kill the more powerful one. This has been mentioned in the manga. So when power scaling isn't something given anywhere near serious attention by the author, even in the strory's own world, it's just hilarious to see things like this.

I find it really weird how they said Makimas control ability only works when Makima has proven she is better than the person which is not at all how it's expained in the manga. Even if what they said was true the animation in their video has Gojo on the ground missing a leg and he is full of holes when Makima tries to control him it just doesn't make any sense why her control didn't work other than the fact that it would make for a boring fight since makima could just control him. I'm just a little annoyed that they took Makimas strongest ability and made completely useless against Gojo (also they made Angels ability completely useless as well) but when it came to Gojos DE it just didn't count as an attack despite the fact the it basically just fries your brain I guess Gojo just doesn't view that as an attack though. IMO the winner of this fight depends on who uses their op ability first which in the fight they showed Makima use it first but they basically just said ignored how her ability works so that Gojo could win. It was still a good vid and I can see why Gojo would win but I just feel like some of the moments that led up to Gojo winning were weird. Even if it is dumb that characters can dodge bullets and go on par lighting in Jujutsu Kaisen.
We don't know how fast the lighting is and we know that the author obviously don't know the speed you need to dodge a bullet.
If the author gives you a value to work with (aka Mach 3) you use that instead of weird power scaling. Or you up-scale from that point.
For Chainsaw Man the only speed thing we have that are not fan-calc is the Gun Devil shooting 500 km away in 2 seconds or less (via timer) and travelling the entire world in 5 mins. (Mach ≈313)

They missed a lot of key abilitys for Makima. She can teleport for example.. we see her do it in the Reze arc in the alley way, its never even mentioned. And by the logic THEY use, if she teleported away than used her "Instant Kill Contract" As they called it... Isn't that a game over? Same with her Telepathy she used against darkness... if she blows out Gojos brain and forces it to heal via RCT, isnt that just a stunlock until she kills him?
Also its never implied that the contract heals her, its implied it converts the attack. We see her get chunky salsad by Chainsaw when he first gets back from hell. Next time we see where her body SHOULD be shes gone no blood no anything... It seems heavily implied that she doesn't heal so much as it just kind of undoes the attack and she pops back up. And not all of the fuck ups are positive.. Like they give her the Future Devil, but Aki had that contract and she used him against Denji, so hes dead and she shouldn't have access to that.
But thats always been the real problem with Gojo vs Makima, its a fight that comes down to a shit load of "If, Then" scenarios. If X works this way THEN X Wins. But its so vague its impossible to actually predict an outcome. I have always had it come down to a very simple formula... If Devil Contracts are treated as Cursed Energy, Gojo wins 100% of the time because he can resist it. If Devil Contracts are NOT treated as cursed energy Makima turns him into swiss cheese in 5 seconds.

They mentioned if Makima teleport away and tries to use her instant kill Gojo would've just teleport too and finds her b4 she can set up her ritual, and Gojo can literally crush his own brain and regenerate it so her stun lock won't even work.
Regarding her contract it is indeed vague, but regardless of whether or not she heals or it just happens we have never seen her regenerate from something like hollow purple which just straight up erases everything. If Denji can slice her up and eat her and that's how she's defeated then Gojo can just hollow purple and call it a day.
The spear though is interesting wonder how that would've played out and if it can bypass limitless.
In the end both are broken and their moveset only works in their own respective worlds, it's just good fun anyways.

      - Makima would be smarter to not continuously use up her devil contracts if any purely physical attacks comes close to Gojo, and immediately shift to supernatural attacks, hence the Bang should work and it did work (Angel's Weapons COULD also work, could.)
Only thing they may got right but still nerfed to a degree is Makima's Bang/Invisible Force, it is something Infinity cannot identify in an instant anyway

-Firstly, she could use her other devil contracts that she has (ie: weapon devils, angel, snake, future, spider, violence, shark, dominion, etc...)
-Secondly, hollow purple or infinite void would be meaningless since as long as she is "attacked" then her contracts deems that she can come back to life or nullify the damage in exchange for an illness being spread to a Japanese citizen.
-And finally, Gojo is also a Japanese Citizen, so one way or another he'd kill himself before Makima's lives would run out.

    • @zorro8027
      @zorro8027 Před 7 měsíci +2

The problem is that it honestly comes down to exactly how devil contracts work and their resistance to space-time manipulation.
      As screw attack pointed out during their video Gojo’s limitless is manipulating the concept of infinity within the universe;
Essentially he can fully ultilize and manipulate the dragging of space time known as shifting.
      Red shifting is reversals red
      Blue shifting is amplification blue
Hollow purple and limitless void take two halves of what a black hole physically does.
Hollow purple is red+blue, while a black hole is red shift+blue shift (which should be physically impossible but here it is). Creating an imaginary mass/singularity point that rips through the fabric of space time.
Unlimited void has takes the part where infinite info is dumped into your head and you are perpetually stuck being able to process nothing and do nothing.
The problem here is that we don’t know if devil contracts can bring you back from being literally deleted out of space-time. Which is essentially what hollow purple does. And unlimited void also seems to physically stop time within his domain. The big question is if makima can seriously come back from nothingness.
I feel as though hax that completely ignore the fundamental forces of the universe and as a result are capable of manipulating the fabric of space-time/reality itself should be more than capable of negating/overcoming makima’s contract.

      1) They do bring up those kinds of Devils, but mention how it’s unlikely that those would be useful against Limitless. Even something like the Mold Devil is countered by Reverse Cursed Energy. The only real method that Makima has was her ‘Bang’. And we have to remember that DB has a limited budget, so they don’t always use everything a combatant can use.
      2) DB makes a point to mention how we see that Makima’s regen worked by putting her body back together, meaning that it needs some part of her to regen, which is why Hollow Purple was important for Gojo to win, as it eradicated Makima from existence and left nothing behind. This is how Death Battle has interpreted these kinds of overpowered immortality in the past, and people give no argument beyond “that’s not it works,” so they never saw a reason to change their minds in this regard.
      3) They do bring that point up, and it is one of Makima’s win condition. But they were operating on the idea that completely eradicating Makima’s entire body would bypass her immortality, and thus surpass her contract. There’s no evidence that they found that suggested otherwise.

I'm assuming the guys in DB don't think she would let it come to that, and I think that because of that mission statement right after her defeat that says only 1024 non-sorcerers were killed. There are a LOT more people than that in Japan, especially non-sorcerers, so that must have been put there to imply she'd void the contract before her death because she's gonna die anyway and taking everyone else with her would be pointless. As far as Gojo goes, anyone strong enough to defeat her shouldn't be destroyed if she still wants her ideal world to exist even if she's not I KNOW, CONTROL DEVIL, BUT STILL even if she's not the one to bring it about she'd end up putting that hope on Gojo's shoulders instead.

It is just an side effect from the environment she was transferred to and her brain wud never even be able process that it was an attack if it was considered one in the first place. Also if Makima dies she duznt come back, a new control devil is born cuz that is what happens in the story. My idea is from the idea that if Makima was in the ocean and she cudnt swim and drowned that isnt an attack and only "attacks" on her are transferred based on the contract

Honestly it would make sense for either of them to win, but it would end up being a very complicated fight based on a lot of hypotheticals.
My main issue with it is that they made Gojo win in a disingenuous way, so I’m gonna list some of the mistakes and assumptions they made here.
    1. They interpreted a fan theory that hollow purple is existence erasure as fact.
By all canon means, it is basically just a combination of attraction and repellant forces resulting in very precise MATERIAL dissolution. Given that the CSM verse tends to work along the lines of beings such as Makima existing on the CONEPTUAL level, I would conclude Makima could still just regenerate from no body material as long as the attack doesn’t destroy her as a concept. (Note that the only reason power’s blood worked is because it actively fought her regeneration, and only bought time for denji to do *The Big Funny*)
    2. They Assumed Gojo could unleash a hollow purple WITHIN his unlimited void, despite basically nothing in the source material ever implying such is possible.
    3. They outright omitted the unlimited void’s rate of information flow as shown in shibuya. In 0.2 seconds, 6 months worth of information flows into the target, any more being lethal. By that logic, given that makima’s contract redirects damage to Japanese citizens, it would take about 440 days of constant UV activity before the effects would actually take Makima herself out of commission (time which Gojo just can’t keep the domain open for)
    4. They seemed to randomly give Gojo more base durability against Makima’s force projection than he is shown to have in jjk. Gojo’s main sources of durability are Falling Blossom Emotion, and Reverse Cursed Technique. FBE is exclusively a domain expansion/cursed energy counter, which has no bearing on PHYSICAL attacks, and RCT is regenerative, and not PREVENTATIVE. Gojo would still have to take the damage to regenerate from it. That would basically be the same as assuming Makima is completely invincible until everyone in Japan is dead, which would be disingenuous, as her body can still be damaged rather easily. She just regenerates completely afterward. (Note that Toji’s weapons were very much able to deal damage to Gojo’s body in a similar way to how they would damage any other human.)
    5. They also assumed that Makima’s force projection is instantaneous impact that infinity couldn’t counter and that it doesn’t travel, which isn’t a definitively answerable question until the scenes get animated.
    5. They equated JJK’s Japan to CSM’s Japan, which would make Gojo part of Makima’s contract, which is an already disingenuous way of doing these kinds of matchups in the first place. Gojo would not be part of Makima’s Japanese Citizen contract.
Overall, I think the battle is just incredibly even and depends on a few different unanswered questions to be definitively answered, but here are my scenarios that I could think of
1 (Makima’s Force Projection is Instantaneous): Makima Wins after a long protracted battle given Gojo’s teleportation, but she eventually lands a hit that would blast apart most of Gojo’s body, similarly to power, leaving no opportunity for RCT to take place
2 (Force Projection does travel and isn’t instantaneous): Gojo’s infinity takes care of Makima’s attacks, and Makima tries to prepare a bystander for the sacrifice, but Gojo doesn’t allow for a long enough opening, therefore he eventually wins after a protracted battle from either killing Makima enough times to nullify the contract, or Makima gets exhausted (we don’t know if Makima’s guard being down was a form of exhaustion, but either way Gojo would take this). Gojo could also somewhat speed up his win by immobilizing Makima multiple times with unlimited void, opening her up to basically get farmed (pun intended) until her contract doesn’t work anymore.
(Note that Makima would be able to use the spider devil to get out of the domain if it wasn’t for the fact that she still takes the damage she receives before it transfers, so Makima would be too forced into a corner to make a move of her own during the time that UV is active).

Makima wins and it's not even close.
"If makima teleports gojo can just telepory to her" how would he know where she is? How would he even teleport to hell?
"Gojo's domain deals infinite damage with its infinite knowledge infusion" it doesn't, if it did all of the humans would have died when gojo used his 0,2 seconds domain, sukuna would have a died instantly too when he was affected by the domain for a split second during their fight.
Either way, makima orders gojo to die and he does. It's really that simple, people are just in denial. Even if she can't, she would just teleport somewhere and make a plan to kill him, gojo wouldn't be able to follow her, and she would have all the time in the world to make a plan.
And that's without forgetting that she's far faster than him as she could keep up with chainsaw man and quanxi.

Gojo vs Makima is definitely one of the more complex matchups to talk about, and Death Battle themselves said they were complicated to compare. There's a lot to go over regarding these two. Just look at the two (that's right, two) prediction blogs this matchup got. Both times Gojo won, but only by one vote, and in the second blog one of the people who worked on it stayed neutral and didn't pick a side.
People have to remember that Death Battle isn't just trying to explain who would win in a fight, but also portray and explain it in a way that is simple to understand for the casual crowd who doesn't spend as much time researching characters like this. They did what they could for a 20 minute episode and a three minute animation, and whether it was satisfactory or not depends on the individual because, again, this matchup is really complicated.

Okay so few things I found wrong with the fight:
    1. Gojo would not be able to use Hollow purple after using Unlimited void since it's a ground rule that sorcerers cursed techniques go haywire for some time after using their DE
    2. "Makima can't control gojo", people say that Makima wouldn't be able to control gojo, but she would be able if she proved her superiority no? And she pretty much did? She beat him before hitting him with the chain, IN HER EYES she got him on his knees, what matters is her perception of it so she would be able to control him at that point.
    3. Limitless being an instawin for Gojo - they say that Makima works exactly like Santa Claus... Which is wrong - Santa Claus shares consciousness with other people at the same time, Makima. doesn't. She transfers her injuries ONE PERSON AT A TIME, it wouldn't work like they said

Also there are people who say the information that UV puts in your head is infinite so Makima would be toast anyway and... That is also wrong, if you read or watch shibuya you would know that in 0.2 seconds of gojo's domain being activated, the ammount of into put into people's heads was 6 months, which also wasn't lethal to them, meaning the amount of information overload depends on how long UV is active, which also explains why jogo didn't become a permanent vegetable... just to let u know, gojo used his domain multiple times vs sukuna in the latest chapters. so he is the exception to his first point. with the whole "can gojo be controlled thing", I think its really a 50/50. there are arguments on both sides that can say so ill just leave it up to whoever. also with the UV, makima cant stop it since its unlimited information to all involved. also domains are "sure hit" techiqunes so its debatable if makima's contracts are disabled in them. also with the 0.2 domain clash and jogo, the only reason why jogo didn't die after a few seconds is because curses are naturally stronger than humans. and gojo didn't want to kill jogo. he wanted him alive for information. i think personally the fight is cool but there is a lot of weird interactions that make this fight difficult.

@@exwardd9629 Since you’re butt hurt about it i’m too going out of my way, to as best as i can pass the author’s intent to you, starting with your second point, it is specific accidents and illnesses as shown because it’s makima’s statement that reflects the author’s view not your head cannon, i can say the same thing about your em waves while it is true, they travel at light speed, it doesn’t mean kashimo himself is faster than light what kind of logic is that?, nothing back it up for kashimo to travel at light speed, Sukuna scales to him, in the panel where Kashimo uses those em waves Sukuna got hit with the attack, now if you think Kashimo travels at lightspeed does that mean Sukuna dodged the attack at lightspeed too? NO, because he still was in the Form that killed Gojo and nothing in this fight is stated or looked like lightspeed. So no, attacking with lightspeed and being as fast as light are being completely confused by you. Now to your 3rd point, If you’d read it properly you can see that the speech bulb of Makima that states “1.000 year” is followed by the holo summoning the spear, and its flying through the space it may be a portal to accelerate things because the spear looks nothing like spear as soon as it touched the black space circle. And no, it has other abilities as depicted in the manga, Akis sword, the 10-year,100-year and 1.000-year sword are all Angle weapons so they have similarities, the higher the age the more powerful the weapon is, Akis sword cut through a Ghost, an intangible Devil. So the spear is not just a spear as you say, lol kobeni’s face was illuminated as hell too, it’s just assumptions to be lightspeed though but it’s the same for JJk nobody in jjk is as fast as light the only authentic proofs we have is maki’s mach 3. Bro, proof? my god, where is the proof that Gojo is lightspeed, i want a proof of that, since you’re such a devoted JJK-Fan you pretty sure are aware of Akutami Gege’s lil notes he wrote here and there explaining RCT or Gojo’s techniques, well one note of his actually states the following: “Gojo is also seen teleporting in both volumes, but that can only be done under certain conditions” the fact that Gojo didn’t even bother to use his lightspeed movement as you claim since he scales to Kashimo’s lightning attack which is dumb too, because it doesn’t say ANYTHING about the movement of light speed, should be clear that Gojo is nowhere NEAR Lightspeed, when we have clear statements from Gege, drop the head cannon already and cope with Gojo’s death already lol Lightspeed my ass do you even know how fast light speed is my dude? within air lightspeed it’s about mach 874.030 if we got clear statement about speed within the manga like mach 3 than no way in hell is it going to jump from mach 3 to 800.000 it’s only head cannon and nothing else. Meanwhile we have clear statements in the csm manga how fast Makima reacted to the bullet of the gun devil. Makima prepared to activate her ability after the bullets fired and before it hit her, since it went 500 km in a second the total speed is Mach 1457 and btw that’s only 20 % of the gun devil, if we do the math here, a Gun Devil at 100 % should be able to shoot a bullet at mach 7285. that’s 2477 kilometres in just one second and the Darknesses Devil scales way higher than that because it’s a primal fear and Makima scales to the Darkness Devil since she harmed him. That should give you a clear answer lmfao Makima stomps Gojo in reaction speed since she reacted to the bullet. Overall The csm verse destroys your fodder jjk verse

I do think the illness that afflicts the citizens would be in line with what Makima is hit with like being shot in the head would cause someone to have a brain clot, Gojo's domain would probably afflict some sort of comatose or instant brain death and Gojo's pretty much refreshes his brain making it ineffective either way.
Getting hit with hollow purple though, I'm not sure how it would manifest as a ailment? Someone gets thanos snapped on the spot? My best theory is that Makima's contract can only afflict a person once and it's usually deadly so no point on making it afflict a live person more than once but if Gojo was hit by his own limitless ailment, maybe that's why he wasn't thanos snapped out of existence. If my theory is correct as well, Makima's ran out of lives to shield her at that point right after she got hit with Gojo's domain making her killable.
Yes, she reincarnates but they made it a point that it's not the same person despite being also the control devil.

My problem is, when Makima starts using her finger gun, why does she aim for anywhere but Gojo's head when none of her other attacks could reach him? Death battles writing fight wise is pretty bad imo because most fights end poorly because of things like that.
Edit: In fact there's a lot wrong with this match up when i think about it more. It could swing both ways honestly. I think Makima would win specifically because of her force projection, since i believe it isn't something his infinity can block. Also I think Unlimited void wouldn't work on Makima since it would kill a normal person in 0.2 seconds. with how Makima's contract apply that by everyone in Japan and she could outlast UV's duration. THEN they went and let Gojo use hollow purple inside unlimited void which we don't know if he can do.
All Makima would need to do is aim for a important body part like his head after realizing infinity can't block force projection.

Personally, I saw her ability to transfer damage to Japanese citizens similar to Reverse Curse Technique, since she can basically “heal” any damage inflicted on her (and transfer simply as an illness to someone else). Cut in half? Someone got the flu. Riddled with bullets? Someone else got small pox.
But how Denji beat her… he basically ate her using love instead of an attack. Gojo’s arsenal uses a lot of “attacks” so I’m not sure if he could win in that regard… but you could argue that she’s like a Cursed Spirit, with “cursed” energy. Since Reverse Cursed Energy is “healing” in a sense, and “Red” is made with it… it might bypass her defense?
And with that spear, I also see it like Sukuna’s world cutting slash he learned; it has the potential to kill Gojo, but it’s not like Gojo couldn’t heal from it. When Mahoraga used it, it caught him off guard, but it wasn’t lethal. But Sukuna launched it, making sure it was a lethal strike. So depending on where Makima hits Gojo, would prove how lethal it is. But she’d basically have to head shot Gojo (or else he would heal), and in the chapter, you see Chainsaw Man being able to move fast enough to get in the way of the spear and Kobeni, so it isn’t unreasonable to say Gojo could dodge it and/or heal from an attack that didn’t heal his head.
