Just talk about bad writing that summed up what the show became: the Sheldon cooper pander show.
He treats all his friends like garbage the entire episode, is forgiven for no reason, and they stay. Yes he has the big moment at his speech but it honestly felt forced imo
Sheldon's response makes sense. How exactly do you respond to someone who doesn't want kids telling you they are pregnant. I don't want kids. If I was pregnant I would want people to congratulate me. I wouldn't even want to talk about it.

You don’t just suddenly stop a life of selfish and childish behavior in a moment unless, perhaps, you’ve been terrified into altering your life.
What..... The whole episode was literally the whole cast telling him to go f himself. It didn't happen during the speech.

As wrong as it was for Sheldon to just expose Penny's pregnancy like that, let's be real; we've ALL seen how he is when he tries to keep someone else's secret. Ngl, I'm glad they skipped over that whole process

With all the time how penny have cared about sheldon, sheldon showed absolute zero sympathy towards penny, may be its was written by the directors. but would have been absolutely amazing if sheldon was amazed and happy by the news that penny was pregnant....
Sheldon actually showed a great deal of care. Penny was ambivalent abt having children so Sheldon wasn't sure she was happy about it and didn't want to pressure her into what's considered an appropriate response by congratulating her.
Granted, it wud have been better to ask how she felt abt it or wat she wanted to do but Sheldon's response is head and shoulders above most people, which is to assume all women want children and should be happy to be pregnant.

I think one of the points of the show is that people can be respected, liked, and loved for who they are, not who we want them to be. The group is well-aware of Sheldon's issues, and they love him.

I agree he was pretty selfish here with the way he reacted but before this episode there were times were he wasn't selfish, like when he wanted to share credit with his wife, and when he felt bad for all the things he said to the other scientists. Sometimes I feel like his character writing goes up and down idk why they brought his development down here in this episode that really annoyed me. You'd think with all the development he's been through they'd at least make him more mature in this final episode but they didn't. But his Nobel prize speech was definitely worth the moment ngl he actually made me tear up at that scene.
The reason why they forgave him is that he was truly sincere in his speech, at first he was going to make it self-centred but seeing a selfish guy like him making it an apology speech was worth it

I'll be honest. There was a time I used to imagine Leonard and Penny as my parents. I also imagined Sheldon, Howard and Raj as my paternal uncles and Amy and Bernadette as my paternal aunts by marriage. But when I watched the series finale I started to imagine I was the baby Leonard and Penny were waiting

Leonerd is a bit overreacting!! Sheldon is receiving the biggest accomplishment of his life and it’s perfectly natural that Sheldon ( a known germaphobe) wouldn’t want to risk getting sick before the ceremony. Not to mention, Sheldon was always a jerk. So his friends should’ve been used to his behaviour almost 13 years later.
@@karleighrock593 Even Penny expected that he would react like that so she was less angrier than Leonard. But honestly, Leonard had a right to be angry, Penny was like a sister/mother to Sheldon he should have been more mature about this. Even though he was a jerk, she still wanted to see him win that award, and that was very sweet of her. In real life, someone like Sheldon would have no friends and it is pretty rare to find people who are willing to tolerate him

However, leonerd has been putting up this behaviour for over a decade and there has been times where he has even enabled Sheldons behaviour. So he shouldn’t be shocked that once again Sheldon said or did something obnoxious. Also, Sheldon does in fact care a lot about leonerd and Penny. Sheldon brought every one of his friends to sweden to watch him accept the biggest achievement of his life instead of bringing his mother, siblings or even his meemaw.

I understand that the final episode kinda messed up all of the character development that writers made the series. It actually a problem that I have with most tv shows that reach the final season. When a tv show gets a final season, somehow they all say “f**k it!” and stop caring about the quality of show anymore. The final season has a short amount of episodes and the character development is crap. That’s why alot of series finales are disappointing. There are a few shows that do have a good final season and series finale.
Sheldon annoyed the hell out of me here lol, he was funny, but his quirks made him my least favourite character, I didn't mind it at first, but the writers made him increasingly irritating as the show went on, just my opinion.

Sheldon will be my most annoying character...I couldn't tolerate him after season 5 ...I stopped watching it because of him .. Sheldon always gets what he wants like a child.. that makes it more annoying

Even though I understand why everybody is upset with this storyline and even if it seems uncharacterictic, I'm still gonna accept it with open arms. Pregnancy is way better than divorce (I've read the book, and I know that writers kinda headed towards Penny and Leonard's separation).

I would’ve had the writers change and make Leonard’s character different in the last four seasons, and had HIM win it, and teach Sheldon a lesson in humility. I also REALLY hate how they made Sheldon and Penny close in the last four seasons. I hate that she helped Sheldon, but never ONCE bothered to help Leonard, her HUSBAND. It also doesn’t help that she called his job boring and stupid in like season eleven or something, when the guys were all depressed because Physics was a “dead end”.
