ZD looks like a future version of Peanut that gave up on Little Mac and picked up Wolf but is now deeply unhappy cuz he wasn't true to himself.
Peanut's ability to 2-frame is the best I've seen in competitive Smash. One of the only ways to make Mac good, tbh

@@sergiodelrioreyes7655 it's a small window of vulnerability during a character's ledge grab animation. It's super important for edgeguarding too.
I've been thinking with the tournaments this weekend, reinforced here: players are getting good enough that they're moving from playing X character against Y character into using X character's toolset to pick apart the player across the table from them. Game still has some life in it yet.
ZD was playing great, though is true that he gets tilted easily, he still controlled that sort of to get through peanut's movement and secured the win. As for Peanut again, he played fantastic too, and he will win another one later probably, for now, congrats to ZD for the win.
Hate seeing how much hard reading peanut has to do vs throwing out the 274th nair in a row to start whatever combo you want.

Always rooting for the Nut, but I gotta give it to ZD for keeping his composure in that last game. Even looking at the player cam, it seemed like he was done-zo when he got KO punched. Great set!
Idk but ZD seems to be a very salty player xD. He's rolling his eyes every time he dies and slamming his hand, even in the first set. After winning the tournament, he's still acting salty with his body language, having a "Loser" reaction (no celebration, a soft fist bump, aggressively unplug and roll back the cable of his controller, shaking head in denial and then leave asap the scene).
I really wanted peanut to beat him so we could see ZD having a end game salty reaction, although I think it woulda been the same reaction than that xD
It’s stuff like that that I try to learn from, remembering we’re just people and it’s just a game.
People like you are why I'm so happy ZD won this set. Like of course he isn't gonna pop-off after winning grands game 5 second set against Little Mac of all characters

Like I often tilt at this game too but srlsy, when you play Wolf against Little Mac and instakill him with a f-tilt at ledge when mac tries to recover, how can you go and roll your eyes at a down smash 2 frame by mac when you try to recover?
Facts. I so wish Mac didn't stick his arm like a foot above the ledge, it gets him killed basically every time

the fact this was so close should have been big news, especially since every pro calls little mac the worst character in the game (spoiler alert, he isnt)
I honestly think peanut may be the most mindgame intensive player out there, he is so exceptionally good at knowing when to expose his weaknesses as baits and capitalizing on every single read. It genuinely feels like anyone is only one hard read away from a deadly tech chase even without KO
Love Peanut, as a fellow Mac main, seeing him lose to this grumpy slouch makes me sad. Bro won grand finals and barely got himself up for a fist bump. Peanut shoulda won.

Very close set but for as much as people were rooting for peanut, I really was rooting for ZD. A lot more consistently smart play without the KO punch threatening neutral at 0 for no reason lol
Just Mac things tho, I love seeing close sets like this no matter what and it was well played by both players
The worst is sometimes ZD got like 3 hits in a row and the thing was still there. There's a reason why fundies characters became pocket picks mostly, the ones with strong gimmicks thrive easier in this iteration of the game(Either comeback mechanics like KO punch, or the ability to cheese stocks even at low %s like Kazuya, MinMin and such)
@@crescentryoshi3717 KO punch sticks around for four seconds and then any hit that sends you into tumble takes it.
Why do we get mad at low tier characters we're losing to? Is it because we can't blame it on the match up and simply have to blame it on ourselves not being enough? It's unfortunate that pride in someone else is overshadowed by all that unyielding rage.

Those where some heavily close sets. A lot of fumbling but is it really when everything connects? The final match was a last interaction would equal a stock lost. Great matches over all.

Tbh at first his mannerisms rubbed me the wrong way too and idk if he’s always like this, but just to give the guy some slack fighting games seem really stressful at high level. And I love peanut, but playing against a Mac probably feels unrewarding. Like if you win it’s “you should of beat him” but if you lose it’s “wow you lost to a Mac”.

Wolf is more carried tbh. Such high reward for 0 thought. At least Fox has to be careful cos he has way less range, is way more edgeguardable and way lighter. Wolf is just uber broken and is probably the lowest skill highest reward character, even more so than Steve and maybe besides Roy
@@willycheez7218 wolf is the easiest of the non dlc top 10 to use that isn't one of 80 sword fighters in the game. Fox may have simple setups but making even ONE mistake with him at all is fatal

As busted as KO Punch is, Little Mac is underwhelming in general as far as competitive Smash goes. Extremely poor recovery, non-existent air game, and fairly predictable.

We really need to stop putting low tier players into a pedestal and realize gimmicks can get players far just the same way strong characters can. KO Punch killing at 0 can turn a game around easily in just 1 interaction.
i think if peanut paid attention, ZD never air dodge or if any most of the time he never airdodged and i think peanut couldve used that to his advantage but it was still a great fight overall. Peanut never disappoints!
