Hartmann's Youkai Girl ON PIANO! This is Koishi's theme from Touhou 11. It's also one of ZUN's greatest pieces. Its unusual and chaotic rhythm makes for a really tough arrangement. The second part features one of the best melodies ever heard in Touhou. Overall, an amazing extra boss theme. - Hry

0:50 I have heard many piano covers of this song, but this is the first one that I know of that includes the counter-melody
When the counter-melody is played (in the original) to me it often "dominates" over the original melody so this rendition felt more "faithful" to the original theme

whenever I hear covers of koishi's theme I always find the 0:50 part.Most people omit these which makes me sad but you sir played that spectacularly. I am having a hard time with that part too 😅

Hartman's youkai girl, is such a nightmarish piece sometimes but you really nailed that awkward 7/8s timing! I really love it too It has such an amazing and nostalgic feeling to it. I still remember how excited I was to finally beat her in SA

You've made a brilliant arrangement. It's still refreshing in the current year to listen to different arrangements from different musicians and each single one of them manages to bring something special to the original track. One can never really get too much of Touhou music!

This piece is the perfect embodiment of ZUN's classic genius. One of the most beautiful songs the Touhou Project has ever produced.
For those wondering I just played it in reverse and it's pretty recognizable still. That doesn't only talk about the composition itself from ZUN but also how good this arrange actually is on capturing the escence of the music.
The funny thing is that it kinda trurns from a piano melody to some sort of weird string instrument. It's quite amazing. If Viddy is interested they could just upload the reversed version but I encourage anyone to try and give it a listen backwards.
My favourite song from touhou, although I've never played it I listen to this from time to time.

Touhou 11 was my first touhou game to 1cc on normal and overall is one of my favourite games of the series! Also the only game that I tried to learn playing the entire ost of, and god does koishi's theme go crazy with it's ⅞ and key changes every two bars

I counted 359 Touhou songs from 1 to 18, it is probably going to take you years and years if you decide to play all of them, its obviously impossible 😂
But, It could be possible if you arrange one Touhou game for 1 video at a time. For example, you can have Touhou 11 Arranged performance with very short versions of each song of Touhou 11 from Menu to Ending. It can be edited as a storytelling of the whole game from stage 1 to the ending song, It could be interesting with some simple editing and the usual storytelling you do with your edits. Kind of similar to the first introduction to Touhou in your channel.

Fantastic arrange! This is not an easy song to play or arrange. due to the time signature shenanigans and the sheer chaos of it. It's actually a palindrome. So if the song is played backwards it sounds really similar to how it does when its played forward.
Also, I have that koishi statue. The arteries/cords are such a pain since they're made of like... steel for some reason. I don't blame you for putting them somewhere else lol. The satori statue has PVC cords/arteries so its easier to deal with.

I don't have any sheets because all my arrangements are done by ear :) This is kinda of an "old" video, so unfortunately I believe I deleted the recording from my digital piano like a moron, since I wasn't thinking of sharing midi. However, more and more people are asking for it recently. I would have to re-do lots of them though. We'll see.

So, is this harder than Nights of Nights?
Well, it really depends on your technique. If you usually have trouble keeping up with weird/crazy time signatures, then Koishi's theme is gonna be really hard to master. It's not the hardest song TO PLAY, but making an arrangement that actually works...that's the hard part!
However, Night of Nights requires A LOT of stamina and is WAY faster. If you have trouble with crazy fast passages and/or your hands get tired easily, then Night of Nights is way harder.
I've been practicing these songs for many years now, so I don't really have any particular problems playing them. Night of Nights still gives me a challenge from time to time though.

If we're talking about Touhou music, then Koishi's theme is definitely one of the toughest to arrange. You really gotta learn how to deal with its specific time signature. But if we're talking about ALL of my other covers, then I've played even harder pieces :)
