I couldn't wrap my head around the woven sidewalls. I kept saying to myself that the structure was too ventilated...then 'BOOM'! It's a drying shed for the winter supply of firewood! I'm sure you and Simon are planning some big project in the vicinity of this shed. Great job Andy!!!

If you put a saw cut down the center of the dowels, you can then put a wedge in the cut, to keep the frame together, Great vid.
Amazing job mate , you make Ray Mears look like a cowboy builder . And as far as bush craft survival that’s got to be game won as far as shelter . All you need now is a hot tub mate finish the luxury off .

When I was a kid my mate and I built a good den in a tree.
Not as good as this obviously, but we were well proud of it at the time. Anyway, some weeks of bliss went by until one day we climbed up to the den to find that pictures of naked ladies had been put up in there.
Our euphoria at seeing naked ladies (back then pictures of naked ladies was not something young lads like us often saw) was short-lived because the bigger boys who'd put the pictures there came back and kicked us out of our own den. And that was the end of our den!
It's so relaxing and enjoyable seeing a handy man at work without talking about what he is doing, because it's self-explaining. Good job and better than most others.

Such a great job. You are not only a great cook but a very skillful craftsman. Well Done! Your tiny house looks so quaint and functional at the same time. No limits when you have a sharp hunting knife, sharp axe and a hand saw and of course the know how. :)

Good first go with the wooden shakes! For a living shelter, you would have to make a lot more because they need to overlap quite a bit to be be watertight. But this was the perfect opportunity to try out ideas, learn and improve! I am really enjoying your channel.

Yep, totally agree with Smithy C. This is what I come to youtube for. Extremely well made videos by proper "can do" people getting on with super wholesome projects and cookups that hopefully lead others to try some of these things as well. I know I have! Just finished a shelter in my back garden so I don't have to go in the big house when it rains. I just sit and listen. Oh, and cook a chicken in a rock oven. Worked a treat! Thanks heaps for the inspiration!
It's nice to see what can be built as a shelter using small scale timbers. One of your previous shelters showed me it's quite possible and a person alone can manage it. It's given me a good idea for my Adirondack property.

If I was building this I’d be constantly worried about someone coming along and destroying it. His craftsmanship and skill is unreal. Would love to be able to do something like this just for somewhere to go and clear my head and have a bit of peace and quiet
You are creating some of the noise by your projecting into.the future with paranoia and fear. Be here now and you WILL realize a more peaceful life.

If you used bamboo it would be like Gilligan’s Island. Next is the pedal car. Separate beds for Mr and Mrs Thurston Howell III. Tiki lamps for the pathways. Lots of projects for ones imagination. Bet you slept well that night!!!!!!
this is absolutely excellent! it kind of shows us how folks in medieval times and before used to make their homes (ok this is a tad smaller but you get the point!) also andy is using nails, they would have probably used twine, wedges and dowels.
