Most slept on guy we’ve picked up in the off-season by far, dude knows where to drop down in zone and is versatile. I know he’s 5”11 but still with 1000+ yards last year and 5 tds he should’ve went in the 6th or 7th in my opinion. I expect to see him used similarly to Kalif and Amon ra.
Being a Michigan man myself I was happy he was coming to Detroit cause I remember him at Michigan. Personally I think Williams is better all around, and has the work ethic of St Brown. MCDC soon. The saying hardworking beats talent when talent doesn't work hard. There's another line to this but DPJ doesn't seem to have people praising his work habits sooo it's safe to say its not at the level of some of them. Two different styles I know but if DPJ was putting it in we would have heard someth8ng and ijust d9nt belive he really wants it.
They're 2 completely different receivers, DPJ & Williams.
Williams cannot play on the outside nor can he return punts something DPJ is good at or at least he doesn't fumble like all these guys have.
Williams needs to be compared vs Raymond/St Brown because that's his position.
I do think they keep him though but they need a big receiver

Williams is the man for the 4th receiver, imho. I know the Lions would like a taller outside receiver, but they really don't need that! The reason being Goff isn't a good 50 50 ball thrower and that make having that taller receiver a none issue again, imho.
Yeah, they haven’t had that guy since DJ Chark and he was only on the field like half of the games. J Rey is on the taller side but even he wasn’t a 50/50 ball guy. And if they’re looking for a big bodied target, they’ve got 4 TEs that can catch the ball. And for what it’s worth, Isaiah is a few inches taller than Kalif, he’d be a better fit outside if you want to make the size argument.
We kinda do need a taller outside receiver if we can get one.

You were brutally honest with your assessment of DPJ , it seems that he doesn’t show enough interest in being that guy in the rotation, nor was A. GREEN/ FOUNTAIN, they’re just merely practice players and will never be a factor in the NFL PERIOD!!!

Williams is a udfa from this years draft ! This is his first time in the league as well with the lions
I like IW more than I like Raymond as a receiver. And DPJ needs to catch some balls to get going and I think he will gain his confidence back. When he got traded DPJ seemed like he didn’t want to be here so maybe he’s not enjoying Detroit still. Something seems off

I'm with you on Betts. I think he will continue to show out next week and claim a final spot but it may be in place of Houston. They moved Houston back to Hutchinson side so he can just rush the passer (no more dropping/thinking)
Houston not being healthy is hurting him. Or it may actually help him by starting the year on IR...not sure.
Tom Kennedy I feel has always been solid for us he's got good hands he's just small

Did Williams run the 40 in 4.38? I think He came from Maryland unless it’s a different Isaiah Williams.
DPJ might be inexpensive in terms of salary, but he isn't just any good anymore and he's taking up a roster spot. I would release him and if he clears wavers, sign him to the practice squad. Thanks for the awesome video!
It would be great if they kept IW around. He could fill in the Lief role if Lief starts to regress. They are very similar. Lief has that insane separation stat and banked goodwill with the team. I could see IW being WR4. I think 5 is the battle. Alexander has speed and shows flashes, but doesn't show enough. Kennedy is probably the most consistent, but he's not spectacular. The rest have like one good play and they fall off. I wish DPJ showed something like MCDC said. He just hasn't. It really feels like the final WR isn't on the roster.

I'm fine with redundancy in the WR room. It's more important to get dudes who get open than it is to get dudes with the "right body type"
Can you do a breakdown of DPJ and what's wrong with him compared to 2 seasons ago? What is different about him that he can't even light up 3rd stringers
I forgot you were able to get several looks at DPJ over the years covering the Ravens. I agree btw, he looks stiff and unathletic. When he runs, he's really upright, arms not moving all that much. I wonder if he has back or neck issues. I'm not sure why we can't find a big, athletic guy over 6'2". Besides Megatron, Kenny Golladay was the last big WR I remember us having. He was fantastic with Stafford, when he was healthy.
All these receivers have the misfortune of trying to show their stuff with an erratic passer in Nate Sudfeld. That being said if you ball out in these circumstances I think you've earned a spot the roster. I hope they go with Isaiah Williams who would never clear waivers and DPJ.
DPJ has been the most underwhelming pick up that’s been healthy that Mr. Holmes picked up .imho
