It's incredible that I've been watching Grey's since I was 20 years old, and now I'm almost 40 and Ellen Pompeo still looks amazing. From everything, I hear about her, and just seeing her interviews, and how other people speak about her, she's like the nicest person ever.

I’m very sad not to see her throughout the year on my tv because I have lived more than half my life with this show and her (I’m 31 and started watching when season 2 was airing in America) but I’m also very very happy for her. Oh gods, I'm re-binging Grey's Anatomy and I'm going back through the laughs and the tears. The show made a lot of changes to how tv influenced us, and how women were viewed as human beings. I haven't seen this season yet, and so I won't until I'm done with my binge. Reliving some of this before I lost my house and my cable is so cool. Using my rainbow of bandanas to not cry my way through a forest of tissues.

Greys Anatomy isn't the longest running drama. In the UK the tv drama series Casulty has been running since 1986. Greys only running from 2006. Think General hospital is longest running medical US soap since 60s.
