First time I heard "codswallop" was in Harry Potter from Hagrid.
Sameeeee
And what does it mean
Me too
Ah same!😁
OMG..... I just met a Potterhead ⚡
*Hedwig's theme playing in my head*
Loved this one! Noticed a tiny glitch there though: the sentence example for starkers is from another word - skive off.
Yes, it's true.
About number 8 - codswallop. In Poland we have (rather unused) word - kocopoły. The meaning is the same and it sounds very similar. I bet both words comes to us from Germany (cods- or koc- seams to be from German "Kotze")
Yeah, and I like this word ;D Pozdrowienia ;)
„Kotze“ means in German “puke”
@@mohammadn6743 Yeah ik lol I'm from Germany 😂🤮
Its great your back - I love your lessons - makes me smile. Thank you Lucy

Your smiling makes you are a good teacher.
After following you
I have developed my pronunciation out of my imagine,🥰🥰🥰 so
I love you
Yeah
OMG codswallop. My English Grandmother used to use that when she was babysitting my sister and me. She has been gone since 1977 and I miss her. If I kept pushing I would get labeled a “hooligan”. My son in law’s grandmother is from England. At my grandsons christening he wasn’t dressed to her standards- no tie. She commented on my tie- liked- and Jeremy got the “why are you dressed liked a hooligan” Need to have a strong English accent added. I about choked stifling a laugh.
You made utterly perfect choices of what slang words to teach. I got to go through and review some of them like a shot. Thanks.
Thanks Lucy, you're the best teacher, and you're so fit!
Hi Lucy, Thank you for sharing all wonderful videos ! I appreciate it. I wonder if you are interested in making an introduction video about education system in the UK. eg. the education of years difference , qualification and so on from day care till PHD or higher! :) It would be interesting that others would share their respectively from all over the world.
"Bog" in Russian means "God". And it sounds quite similar.
In Croatian too
also in Poland
So as in Bulgarian.
God roll plssss
ye,бог
Hey English with Lucy I'm Robert and I'm a longtime listener to your CZcams program you agree you're a great teacher thanks for everything I will be seeing you by now
Thank You for everything Lucy
You are the best English teacher in the world
Haha, I was amazed to hear the slang "Bog" I heard it for the first time. But to be honest, In Sri Lanka, we have this slang "Boga" which has the same meaning. Usage is extremely among friends. Now I can guess the origin of that slang.
Hi can you do a video where you explain when to use “whom“ please?
Yeah
Rainbow Cake Whom, means who
Don't worry about it too much. Most native English speakers (including me) don't know how to use "whom" either :-)
Lucy I love you. Thanks for making me a better person when it comes to English.
That's help us for improve our English .
You are the best teacher for me
Go on
Thanks
There're some flickering issues in this video, and the lines of the 19th example is wrong (which is a duplication of the 18th). Please fix them, thank you!
Hi teacher! my name is Arthur i am fifteen years! I am from Brazil.
I am advanced in english and I love your lessons☺️
I'm Prerna .....15 years old from India😊😊
U're absolutely not advanced
His English tells the truth
Não creio...
@zowi Jesus It means "I don't believe"
Always learn a lot from these types of videos! Thanks Lucy!!
Incredible lesson Ms Lucy..
I love your accent más vídeos !!
Thanks so much for teaching us
Holy cricket!😯What an awesome lesson.......I just love the way u communicate. It's beautiful 🙏🙏🎉🎉😀
Dear Lucy, have you ever heard about "bog bodies"? I described them in my bachelor's degree work at University, but I had no idea that "bog" means something vulgar either! Bog bodies means bodies found in peat moss and its related with past cultures (I am archeologist), specially in Northern Europe. And actually every time when I wanted to talk about it with someone from England they were like "Sorry? I beg your pardon? Bog?" Haha now I know why;)))
Your all videos are so helpful for me to learn English you are the best teacher ever 🙏🙏❤️❤️
Perfect! Thank you so much, Lucy.
I am imagining of getting a heart from my teacher LUCY.
Hope you get!
Lucy mam will decide this.
I hope it
Thanks for mentioning "loo" and why I tell my British friends that my name is Louie and not Lou haha.
We love you too Lucy, you're such a legend!
I prefer her more than my british teacher.
Her: "Codswallop"
Also her: "That was exhausting"
You are quite true, sweety blony prety girl...
I'm not first, I'm not last.
But when I saw your notification I clicked on it first .
It was also an amazing video as always. you're my only 1#@ favourite English teacher.
I didn't know many of these;Thank you so much Lucy! I always learn something new from your videos! 🍀
I'm a regular American viewer of this channel, and I think British slang is lovely.
I"ve been waiting for the slangs🤩
Me too😁

Hi Lucy I discovered your channel by chance and I think it's one of the best ever to learn English. I'm learning a lot especially for listening your accent is beautiful but I often lose some words I can't understand everything you say but with your videos I hope to reach fluent English. Thank you so much. Greetings from Italy 🇮🇹🇮🇹🇮🇹🇮🇹👋👋👋
Hello my best teacher I'm Abdullatif Alnour, I'm 22 years, I'm from Sudan 🇸🇩 and really really enjoyed with your amazing lectures ...off you go !!!!!

Thank you Lucy. This video is very useful, because 2 weeks ago I just learned about slaw words in college
It was such a great lesson
You're the best lucy
Thanks a million
Well so cheesed off and miffed mean the same.
exactly!
No. 18 we call it "to bunk" in Indian english
Please continue these type of videos
Thank you lucy
That's exactly the video I was waiting for ! Thanks Lucy from Italy! xx
@zowi Jesus in the "text lenguage" it means "two kisses" , it is a way of saying thanks or bye bye .
Woah, that was a dodgy edit. You often flicker and some text appears momentarily where you should be. Also you put the wrong example sentence for 19th phrase. :)
I was going to comment that. 11:35 is wrong.-
Me: I want a heart from Lucy.
Also me: Ok it's a dream.
Great video, as always! Thank you Lucy!
I started to watch your yt channel strictly because of your beautiful accent and of course I want to have the same one. I couldn't be more happy and excited about your new project ( I have joined today btw 😉). I wish you all the best Lucy!
My question is "why are you beautiful?"
My question is "why are you such a simp?"
@zowi Jesus why? Am I wrong?
@zowi Jesus A man who foolishly overvalues and defers to a woman, putting her on a pedestal.
The word simp is meant to troll men for doing anything for a girl to get some action he supposedly deserves.
@zowi Jesus ok:)
@zowi Jesus yea?
You had to become an #actress. you look so beautiful ।।।।
Love from India
#India wale LIKE ठोको
Lucy you're just awesome.. Thank you sooooo much!!

I can't speak English well, but I love to listen to Lucy's accent she's funny and make learning easier than I think
I really want to learn English, but I have no time to learn it . Also in my country learning English is quite hard and wrong , so I try to do my best to learn it, but not regularly because of studying ( I don't know if I wrote it right ? )
I just want to say, please keep going YOU'RE THE BEST
If I wrote something wrong, please tell me
Lucy, you’re such an inspiration! ♥️
One of the things I liked the most about your English language channel, the dialect, is that if you do not know much in English, at least you will know how to spell words, and then you can use Google translator to help you understand the video 🇬🇧💞
I really love your explanation, you are a great teacher, who else like her teaching.please raise hand ✋
