  • WITH ALL the excitement buzzing about with the recently acquired Merc Cefiro and Nissan W123, I'd almost forgotten that the lovely Honda Accord SM4 2.0i Executive was due for a service after that extended 'Soloduro' Mega drive into Thailand a few weeks ago!
    Since I was already there at Kenzone Taming Jaya shooting the Cefiro, I decided to get it done on the spot. Many thanks to Kenzone and Momo Racing Lubricants for the service, don't forget the Paint, Tyres and Service Promos are still on-going folks! I've taken advantage of two of them, and will be painting both cars with the promo as well 😀

    My father brought this accord model twice.. prefacelift and then the facelift model in 1992. Passed the car to my brother when he bought new car. Well maintained especially the interior. Serve the family really well. Finally sold it in 2012 for a new honda city..

    Honda old starter motor is one of the best starter and strong.. for u info, I own a 90s Honda Ascot with a 4ws system last time and the starter still going strong. Not sure if u recognize the car Chris it's old😂

      Wow! That's very rare! Yes, it's based on the Accord, same chassis iirc, but for JDM only, nice one! 😀👍🏽🙏🏽

    Hi Chris, the SM4 is really growing on me, seriously considering it. Would you think it would make a fun weekend car? Is the costs of restoring/maintaining it reasonable? Keep up the good work!

    • @ChrisWeevilGarage
      @ChrisWeevilGarage  Před rokem +1

      I wouldn't say it's a fun weekend car, it's more a very good daily driver actually, smooth and comfortable, easy to maintain 👌 😀

      @ChrisWeevilGarage  Před 5 měsíci

      Would never disrupt the existing OEM double wishbone set up bro, it's sublime. I would always go with original 😊👍🏽

      @@ChrisWeevilGarageFair enough, stock suspension was really comfortable even with old shocks :D These things do look very elegant slightly lowered though

    Why there is an interval for flushing? Any technical reason for that?

    • @ChrisWeevilGarage
      @ChrisWeevilGarage  Před rokem +1

      Unnecessary to flush with every oil change according to Ken 😊

  • @brianpereira5195
    @brianpereira5195 Před rokem +2

    Not sure about Momo's engine flush but when I bought my project car last year, I brought it to a mechanic that's pretty well known amongst the car community in KL. I asked for an engine flush but they were against it unless I was gonna change all the seals of the engine. Apparently an engine flush eats away the rubber seals. What's your takeaway on this Chris?

    • @ChrisWeevilGarage
      @ChrisWeevilGarage  Před rokem +2

      Hmm, I've not heard about this issue with the seals before, but as mentioned in the video, don't do this with every service. I'll keep an eye out for any leaks following this flush, thanks for the feedback bro 🙏🏽👍🏽😊

    • @Highlander226
      @Highlander226 Před rokem +2

      “Chemicals in flushing additives can damage engine seals, leading to expensive repairs in the event of an oil leak. These chemicals can also damage engine bearings; turbochargers and other oil-lubricated components “

    • @ChrisWeevilGarage
      @ChrisWeevilGarage  Před rokem

      @@Highlander226 thanks for the feedback bud, yeah so that's why it shouldn't be done with every service I guess 😉

    • @kimsoon80
      @kimsoon80 Před rokem +1

      Supposing if you keep doing your oil change based on correct interval and good quality engine oil is use, there's no need for an engine flush. Reason being, good quality engine oil has enough cleaning agents in it to keep the engine clean. I know because my engine is still has the original silverish aluminium colour inside when the engine top cover was removed to replace gasket. Clocked in at 135,000km.

    RE30 wheels are my favorite design. if only those are 17s

    • @ChrisWeevilGarage
      @ChrisWeevilGarage  Před rokem

      17s might have thrown off the ride & handling, so as a general rule of thumb I only go an inch-up from OEM 😊

  • @Sangsinga682
    @Sangsinga682 Před rokem +1

    Tabik this car. Can you still get original engine mounting parts for your car. The OEM parts for AE111 I used only lasted 3 years about 30k km before the interior rattles.

    They don't make Hondas like this anymore...speaking from my experience owning newer one and has to replace steering rack and absobers before reaching 5 years old
