THE WEDGE | A GIANT FREAK WAVE | RAW FOOTAGE

Another big swell at THE WEDGE and it always amazes me how this wave works the way it does. Bouncing off the rocks and creating a double up which makes it almost twice the size of anywhere else in California

Back in my time in the 70s almost nobody had cameras and there was no internet so when you got that insane barrel and nobody saw it you got stoked and paddled up to your buddies and said man I just got totally barreled! they just had to take your word for it and if you ever did get a picture someone took from the beach you cherished that picture! Surfers today have no idea how lucky they are their whole lives are recorded. I wish I could see the sessions we had back then but they’re only in my memories.
