I think some do not kjiw what parallel means. For those who do not know, it means dont keep trying to swim toward the beach, or hotels, let it tske you out and relax, once it takes you out so far, swim sideways until you are out of the current. Betrer to have to walk a disrance back and be alive.

Been dragged out by rip currents a bunch of times, just swim parallel out of it or ride it till the end and swim back, they will never take you out very far and if a person can’t swim back to shore for a few minutes they have no business being in the water at all.

Rip Currents are straight up terrifying. Got caught in one a few years back and thought I was done for a moment. Yold myself at that point to quit panicking and fighting against it and was able to finally get out.

I live in Florida. 6 people have drowned in rip currents in my state in the past few weeks. 3 young men in their 20s all drowned in Panama City Beach this past week. They were all friends and had literally just arrived from Alabama, went right into the ocean at 8pm and got sucked out to sea

This took me back to when I was 18 and had my first encounter with a much older lady..she damn near drowned me but I managed to grab the the headboards and steady myself after that it was smooth sailing so to speak.

3 deaths in Panama City Beach just happened, and being in the rip current was the reason for it, if you get caught in a rip current, do not fight it, let it do its job, then you swim out of it, panicking and fighting makes it all that much worse, let the current take you, and then swim to safety. Be careful around these beaches guys, you have a lot to live for.

How about stay out of the fucking ocean, river, lakes and swim in a swimming pool. We are not fish!
