Cave Expedition : Deep Underground Passages Lead To A Surprising Discovery

- This cave floods to the ceiling during heavy rains. We will soon discover why this happens. Our group descends into the lower level of this cave and enters a muddy stream that we must crawl through. Finally, we come to a hole in a rock wall that is not passable by humans, but the stream disappears into the hole's depths. After heavy rains, all the water that courses through this cave must go through this small hole. This is the reason the cave becomes a death trap if a sudden thunderstorm pops up while you are deep inside the cave.
As always this is a how to metal detecting outdoor adventure vlog that is family friendly and hopefully a fun video.

is not that bad, caves are pretty safe! Just be careful you dont slip cuz that can get you a broken arm/leg etc.

I never realized that some caves could be like this one. I'm accustomed to seeing the kind you just walk into where there are drifts and different passageways that you can enter. I wouldn't enjoy doing this one with all the sliding down and squeezing between the rock walls. It's much better that you did it and I could just tag along and watch from behind the screen. Good job, Chig!

When I was younger we went caving in the Ozarks and southern Indiana. Now in my 70s I have a knee replacement and fused vertebrae. Thank you Mr. Aquachigger for taking me along.

As nervous as tight spaces make me I still think this type of cave exploration would be fun! That kid seemed to be enjoying himself.
You and I are about the same age Beau and it's a testament to your fitness that you can still crawl a cave. It's exhausting. I use to go on cave trips with my brother's National Speleological Society group in the Indiana region, back in the 1970s. I quit because I became claustrophobic and I decided I liked trees and sunshine more than cold stone. The camaraderie of cavers though, is top notch. Breakfast at a diner, before the going into the cave is the best.

Thanks for taking me caving Chigg. I haven't been since sometime in the early nineties. Sinks of Gandy. I'd love to do a tourist trip somewhere, but at seventy, and with some health problems, I guess I'll just armchair cave along with you. Again thank you. I can feel the damp and mud, and the aching muscles, and satisfaction of a good little cave.

When you came here did you ever go to Cheddar? Went into the caves with my parents and their friends many many many years ago as a kid and I was terrified. Dads friend said to me ' don't be scared these caves are donkeys years old' which caused me to become hysterical because in my mind the older they were the more chance they would collapse on top of me!
That looked like it was a lot of fun. I've been through Mt. Timpanogos and one other cave in Utah, and Carlsbad in NM but that's it.

That was fun! Definitely good to be with a group like that! Ive gone on tours of several caves and explored a local one with a friend back in my slimmer days...lol! Somewhere and likely in that area, i have a 5th or 6th great grandfather that must have spent some time in caves. He mined saltpeter during the Revolutionary War. I would love to figure out where! Im intrigued by caves, nonetheless

We have a similar cave system near us in Tasmania - there is a section where you have to shuffle through a 16-20” gap laying on your back for about 10 feet - scary.
Also a no go cave if rain imminent.

I still wander to this day how I survived some of the holes that I clawed into in my youthful days. Caves are a lot of fun to explore.

No skylight not for me!! I’m just to damn claustrophobic!!!! I had to use straight up seats in my race cars while others used layback! Had to see everything!! But I loved to race!!!

I wish my knees and back would let me do this just one more time. I spent almost every weekend underground in southwest Missouri and Northern Arkansas in the 80s and early 90s. My mind says I could still do it, my body says "your mind is an idiot!!"

That's a really cool cave. You said you went here as a youngster. Did you ever carve your initials in the rock? What ever became of the sink hole in on your property? Did it ever amount to anything? I guess it would eventually end at or around the river. How long have you been caving?
