10-Year-Old Lily Peters Was Murdered by 14-Year-Old Boy, Cops Say

- Wisconsin police have arrested a 14-year-old boy in connection with the killing of Lily Peters, a 10-year-old girl who was found dead blocks from her home. Gruesome details of the child's death also emerged during the court proceeding. Prosecutors described how the young teen allegedly lured Lily, whom he knew, along a wood trail before they say he punched her, beat her with a stick, strangled her and then sexually assaulted her body. A decision has not been made on whether to try him as an adult.
The fact that he assaulted her… this is not a case of a teenager just snapping. He wanted to do this. He needs to stay in jail. I feel so horrible for the girl’s parents… This family has been destroyed on so many levels.

This is exactly what I keep saying. At 14 I had a job, I knew right from wrong and I sure as hell knew that killing someone was just about the worst possible thing you could do to another human being. I'm sick of hearing people say, he's just a kid, he didn't know better. 🐂💩! I think there's a possibility he MIGHT NOT BE her biological cousin. Some people have reported that he was actually the son of her Aunt's boyfriend. I don't know if that's true. We'll have to wait for the final police report.

There is no excuse for this young man's deplorable crimes against his own family. There had to have been warning signs. This isn't a first time crime, in my opinion. Even if he is 14 years old there is a limit to understanding and compasion with teens.
I think that limit is reaced when they kill or torture other beeings. As a 14 year old you KNOW that this is wrong and you know about fear, pain and death. Other small girls and children need to be protected from him, he should never, ever get to leve prison or a mental faciliteter/ hospital.

"The suspect is not a flight risk because he's not old enough to drive" is a poor argument considering some parents would willingly risk everything to help their children even if it means breaking the law themselves. Nothing is stopping his parents from spiriting him away to another location and put him in hiding.

I’m still in shock, it was bad enough that she lost her life, but to now know the horror she went through I can’t say that I haven’t cried more than once for her. Maybe it’s because she was little, maybe because her life is gone, maybe that she only lived 20 minutes from me but I pray that somehow her loved ones will be able to find the strength to pick up the pieces of their lives and go on. That case isn't famous. That case is infamous. Anyone who was old enough to know about it is probably still horrified. I don't live in England, yet that's a case that I can never forget. I only have two that cross my mind on a regular basis, and that's Jamie Bulger and Ginny Rojas.
Both of those wastes should have been locked up for life I don't care if they were children as there was something deeply broken in them that was irreparable. England's legal system is downright horrific, I am sorry you have to live with it.

This reminds of the Maddie Clifton case. I was a kid when it happened so the story has stuck with me. Maddie, who was 8, was killed by her 14 year old neighbor. He was tried as an adult and got life.
