I will find a connection"... 😸 Darling: there's a connection between journaling/ writing, typing, andddd beautifull nails done: ways of present well and obligatory restrictions for work. - Story time - - "The hands and the nails are the first things we look at from a person standing in front of us after the face, so I want you to treat your hands and nails at least once a week" - This is what my mentor used to say in our class and she was always looking at our hands! If you were caught beating a nail she'll made an example of you in front of everyone of what not to do! During my secretary-communication studies, they teached us how presenting well and being clean was important, that the nails should be quite short and manucured for writing and typing because everybody in the company, even clients, will see you do that. Did I said: "Typing"?! Yes. I started two years before windows 3.0 went out... computers already were everywhere but not that affordable, internet was not very popular in France so you had to know how to type on older devices... I had the privilege to type on old typewriters and even on electrics! (They were so noisy! Omg!) And let me tell you, in my class all the girls were having already manucures! I had to learn how to mantain my nails by myself because nobody in my family told me how to do so, and I couldn't afford salons... internet was not there yet for tutorials to help, only magazines! haha! You can imagine how messy was my first time doing them... 😅🤣🤣 - End of Story time - So yes, my nails are my go to: I don't care if I don't wear make up or if my hair is not done well, but my nails never disappoint! Most of the time they are painted in black, white, blue, and I have two kinds of red... but sometimes I let them without nailpolish. I even have a special cream for my hands that I keep at my desk (Panier des sens - Verbena essential oil hand cream). So yes selfcare is important on so many levels, and I have to say that when your nails are freshly done and you grab your best pen to write on paper... ah best feeling ever! 💃 ✨Loved the video and your nails are goals! Your mentor sounds like quite the lady, from the way you describe her I bet she smelled amazing and only wore dresses. That's the first image that popped up for me! (I took typing class too-on an actual typewriter-and to this day I’m still a horrible typist lol) You’ve inspired me (as always!): next time I cut my nails shorter, which I usually do after one breaks, I’m trying black nail polish. It’s something so small that I have been afraid to try. I’d also rather have painted nails than not, it just completes the look. That verbena hand cream sounds heavenly, I’m looking up Panier des Sens… having a delicious scent to give you a boost while you work, ahhh. YES GIRL there’s definitely something special about freshly done nails and writing with a good pen. You get to look at your pretty nails, look at what you’re writing, look at your nails-it’s just such a treat.
