I had one of these Chevelles in 1973, it was the factory Maroon color with a 396 engine, 3 speed Automatic. I loved my Chevelle, and this all happened in El Paso, Texas. You brought back great memories of my past! I am 68 years old and still a gear head.
For that kind of money I would want everything to work!
This car needs to be totally restored properly! I bet there is rust behind the lower chrome molding. They were notorious for this. It looks like it was painted by a less experienced painter. The good thing is that it is all there aside from the original motor. Price wise, it's still a good deal, in my opinion. Like I said, it is my opinion!!!
People complaining about the price, have no idea what they’re looking at lol. It may not have the original 396 motor, but under 40k nice true SS is right. It’s a beautiful car.
You're absolutely right
You must work for the stealership
@@XX-166nope, but I know my Chevelle’s. This is a true 138 SS car. That in itself is a big deal. It’s a 1966, extremely sought after model year. If it had its original 396, you could easily add on another 10-15k. This car needs very few corrections to be a really nice. For under 38k, this car will sell fast
I’ve been following Nick on here since he started this page, Maple Motors has some of the best deals on American muscle cars around, if not the best. He’s also very upfront about what you’re buying. Doesn’t try to hide anything.
@@roln7s463 there’s a fox body black a few weeks back where they were asking big money for an obviously damaged vehicle.. do your homework and don’t be blinded by how long you’ve been following some dude on CZcams. Just because you think a car will sell fast doesn’t mean they will and considering everyone can’t view the cars in person it’s all about caveat emptor.
This will be gone by next week.
I could not afford a 55 4 speed white chevy belair in 1975 for 140 dollars my neighbor was selling, and its sad that even now I still can't afford one,
A true 138 Chevelle!! Hell yes!! This isn't priced properly Nick. This is a 138 VIN and that alone puts it in a rare unit price point
how so?? all SS's till 69 had 138 vins
@@zazz69ed true SS cars are very hard to come by and the options that this car has power windows and ac make this vin 138 rare. 72k were SS MODELS and less than 7k were big block cars which this is a BB car making this a rare 138 vin code car
@@tonytrumbleeven power brakes were rare in 66
More than 447,000 Chevelles were built for the 1966 model year. Of them, more than 66,000 were the Sport Coupe SS 396. Just 5,429 SS396 convertibles were produced, but only 100 Chevelles were produced with the L78, making them highly desirable.... am guessing you thinking of the L78 which only 100 of those were made in 396@@tonytrumble
@@zazz69ed dive deeper. This chevelle has ac and power windows as well making it a rare piece. As I stated.
If that's a 454 then it was put in later. This car, to my knowledge in 66, only came with a 396.
You're correct the SS came with the 396 engine ! If they wanted to pass the 454 off as a 396 All they would have to do is put 396 Air Cleaner on top of it , not to many people left on planet would know the difference between the two 🤔 ! 😂👍
I prefer the big block
The 454 didn't come in the Chevelle until 1970.
My first car in 1995 was a 66 Chevelle. One owner all original and I paid $1,600 for it... 😂 How times have changed
Looks like a good honest car. Like the a/c and power windows. Just needs some TLC. If it was a perfect car it would be double the price. We all want to buy them cheap but those days are gone!
I knew this one would break my heart. I prefer the “67’s”. This one is so good it would definitely do. That price is very good for what you get.
Awesome car for sure, i had a 67 impala , i wish I kept it, along with a 69 1/2 Pontiac grant prix, 389 with 3 deuces, and several more, times have definitely changed
🏆Got to love that body style & 454 besides that tire rub and the headliner 🍀awesome Ride😎✌️
Yep that was my favorite Chevelle body style
This has some rare options such as ac albeit not working but all components are there except belt making it truly a easy fix, then power windows as well. People who are complaining about the price obviously are not car enthusiasts, they just want something for nothing. Let them find a true 138 vin# car with these options and in this shape that is running and driving at a cheaper price would be a miracle. This unit will sell quickly without doubt!
Thank you
I'm looking to buy a 1967 Chevelle SS with the 4 speed manual, white with red interior in a couple of years.
Nice chevelle just put a set of big block springs all the way around and put the 15x8 rally wheels with white letters. And put an antenna on the right quarter panel.
37k Come on man!
Too cheap?
I picked up my matching numbers 66 supersport in pristine condition for 37k last year in Southern CA.

Make sure the horn works. Well, it should work.
🤣🤣
@@hillbillyhomestead1966 well in a way it’s true😂
Awesome Chevelle! A mutha thumpr cam would make that motor sound 🤌 like sweet music... when I was a kid, a guy down the street had a blue 66 with a 396. Everybody tried to buy it off him lol Hell No was always the answer. I wonder where that car is today 🤔 probably in his garage still. 😄
I didn't know they power windows in 1966
Options
‘66 front end, ‘67 taillights/rear with the ‘67 staggered “Super Sport” emblem would be perfect.
As usual y’all have a fleet of classics
That 454 sounds good probably a great power plant for this relic
Thanks Brother
Keep up the great work
Wish I had your job ,almost like being a judge in a pie eating contest 😂😂
Thanks for watching
Obviously the people complaining about the price don't realize what this really is
I like the car, but 1966, the Chevelle SS only had a 396 engine. It needs seatbelts, and the rust on the body needs to be addressed as soon as possible so it does not get worse. The gaps in the front fenders are concerning, and the body panels should be checked by the future owner to be sure they were all attached correctly.
Love this car. I got the horn again. 5 in a row, my best is 11 in a row
Beside it's flaws, it's still a beautiful '66 Chevelle Super Sport.
U guys are top notch for old car love these vids I will come see you guys when I'm ready to buy
That black charger in the background looks real nice
Seeing that interior was like going back in time. Miss that car now lol
Power brakes,windows & factory air,fairly rare options in 66,nice ride👍
Look like it’s missing a piece of trim on passenger side bottom I think
Who has a car with no seatbelts? Florida don't play about seatbelt laws.
There be lots of deals for you to buy soon.
Check out the housing repo
Thats a super nice 66 Looks like my old car I wrecked
If it had a black vinyl top I would've sworn it was my twin brothers old Chevelle
This is one of my all time favorite rides,a 1966 Chevelle, what a classic👍 Nick sweet ride 🔥
oh, if only I had an extra 40k..................loaded and super sweet!!!!!
You should show gaps on door trunks hoods
Very nicely mild kustom second generation Chevelle SS only problem where I'm currently am it's alot of dirt & mud.
When you said mechanics headliner I knew the horn would work, the mechanic fixed it!
66 accelerator pedal uses a rod unless someone changed it to a cable
Man I love your videos got my first car a 05 mustang gt hoping someday ill be able to buy beauty's like this Chevelle from your shop one day
Thank you
😂😂 Nick was excited when the Horn Worked ! 😂😂 Love the chevelle ! 👍
Gotta love the big block grunt lol
Still kicking myself for not grabbing up that 68 Blue Vette you had on your lot about 8 days ago........
Quick question, I’m about to buy a 78-87 el Camino but I’m 6’4 and wondering, can I comfortably fit in a el Camino? Thank you
Show the Plymouth that was sitting there.
I’m going to hold out fot the Olds 442!
Wow, she's a beaut! And sounds great!
I don't know but with old speedo a drill can change the mileage. I would not know how to work on doing that worked street rods before coming a truck driver. Had 1979 El Camino had a 68 or 69 502 she ran like the wind. I built most of my street race.
Cars that old mileage don't matter
@@hillbillyhomestead1966 I was just saying on how used car lots did in the old days.
How much for da little
Blazer ? Ha !
Keep it clean
Gentlemen 😊
I have the same tire rub issue on mine, I have a 67 model but same issue on the passenger side tire, I guess if it is the original suspension, the spring or shocks need to be replaced
Either replace suspension parts or put some tire spacers
My father had the exact same car and he sold to my cuz for 1500😅 dam dollars in 1970 he regretted it his whole life so did i >.........I wanted that dam car
I like it they kept it clean and simple
Thats the 2nd 66 chevelle ss 396 that has had factory power windows, that I've ever seen. 😁
Basics all there but needs alot of small stuff kickdown not hooked up alot of small tweaks cruise it now
Time to change the gearing for the highway
Good looking Chevelle!! 🤜🤛
Thanks 👍

Not the stick to keep Hood open,36k put some bolts on that thing
One of my dream cars right there!
it has the correct turbo 400 transmission,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
Turbo 400 wasn't available until 67
That is a sweet sweet ride right there.
Thats a nice price for that 66 chevy
Coil spring change or they did a spindle drop stop tire rubbing.
You mean 396
Is the charger still available the black one
I built 2 chevy novas i sure miss it
Awesome 👌 👏
Cool.
Car is clean underneath nice find
Love it, love it, love it.
Thank you
👍👍💯
Bet if that motor was out, behind the flywheel forged in the block it would read R A T
Do you get the custom stick that holds up hood???🙄🙄
Yes, it's even got the same serial nos. as the VIN.
Yeah but not necessary
Nice!
Thanks!
Gorgeous
Beep beep horn works
Best year of the chevelle
Is this a true VIN 138 Super Sport?
