- Real Life official video for the Australian release of Send Me An Angel '89. The US version was a reworking of the 1983 video where they edited out original keyboardist Richard Zatorski. Real Life had released Send Me An Angel '88 before they remixed and re-released it again in 1989. This version reached No.51 on the Australian Top 100 chart but got as high as No.24 in Melbourne.

Watching this video because I heard my 18 year old daughter singing in her room. I just asked her what she was singing and she said this song. I am 57 and this is one of my all-time favorites. I am one proud mama!!😊
Congratulations to a daughter like that;-)

i have always loved this song. My 2 sons know it because of me playing it and singing it to them when they were younger. Hahaha
Your daughter has great taste .. there is hope yet! 😁

Today's generation will never understand what 80s and 90s where like. this is forever a classic and a legend.
You got that right. The age of the movie soundtrack, music video, and one-hit wonders.
Well i was born and in the year two-thousand, and I understand
I disagree. While many of them did not experience it first-hand like we did, there are a lot who love 80's music and dislike the current crap.

Same here. 87. I'm 36 turning 37 and the late 80s and all of 90s was so great with the music and movies and just the culture back then was so different it's hard to describe. The nostalgic feeling I get hits home. Makes you think about how fast time flys..

I just turned 50 and this video brought me back to when I was 15. The music was so awesome back then, the freedom to do damn hell whatever we wanted. Times were great back then. Nice to see movie and TV industries implement 80's music into their productions. 80's was the best decade for music by far. Thanks for helping me reminisce my teenage years!
This song was everywhere in 1982, huge new wave hit . They redid this song in 1989 and it was a hit again. Im positive if it was re-released again it would still be a huge hit in 2023. Good music never dies.
Just been covered by Gunship
Not as good as the original, but yes, @andrewmantova8801, Gunship just released a cover and it's so good! Wondering if they sample the angelic voice b/c it sounds very similar. There are thousands of the most beautiful, modern songs on here. You just have to look for them, you know. An incomprehensible amount of modern artists pour their hearts and souls into their art; It's unfair to say that none of them are real, or that none of them make "real" art.

The Word Was Ours!!!!
Do you believe in heaven above
Do you believe in love
Don't tell a lie don't be false and untrue
It all comes back to you
Open fire!
On my burning heart
I've never been lucky in love
My defences are down
A kiss or a frown
I can't survive on my own
If a girl walks in and carves her name in my heart
I'll turn and run away
Everyday we've all been led astray
It's hard to be lucky in love
It gets in your eyes
It's making you cry
Don't know what to do
Don't know what to do
You're looking for love
Calling heaven above
Send me an angel
Send me an angel
Right now, right now
Empty dreams can only dissapoint
In a room behind your smile
But don't give up,
Don't give up
You can be lucky in love
It gets in your eyes
It's making you cry
Don't know what to do
Don't know what to do
You're looking for love
Calling heaven above
Send me an angel
Send me an angel
Right now, right now.

What I love about this song is that it is such a new wave, synthy pop song, but then the lead singer comes out with this killer guitar solo that is totally at odds with the genre but totally works!
My dude, you are absolutely right. I never noticed that before. Thanks for pointing it out. (Side note: it's rad when lead singers pick up a guitar just to rip a solo, then put it back down. Like, "I'm singin', I'm dancin', I'm frontin' a band, NOW WATCH ME RIP THIS FAT SOLO, alright I'm out, back to singin'". Massive flex.)
New wave yes but bass and synth players were not aware of that
